It's still not as bad as the shit they find from morning zoo stations. Opie was definitely out of touch with the humor at times, but usually he gets the hint and shuts up after a few seconds.
Fun fact: it’s Opie’s fault this show was Jocktober’d. While I was listening to another episode, Opie ‘Hacky Radio Bit’ Hughes wouldn’t shut up about *FeZzEs fRoM ArOuNd tHe wOrLd* and a listener called in to report… *Intern Adam* from 107.5 The River aka Woody & Jim. 😆 That’s how Sam found their show. Thank you for posting this..i heard bits and pieces of it on the way to work when it happened and caught maybe 5 mins on replay.....Opie is so friggin unconfortable and it made me laugh uncontrollably
But he did find Anthony. He recognized the talent and brought him into radio. Anthony wasn’t that great when he started, either. Listen I know Opie isn’t funny but the revisionist history is old. You’re listening to a bit that was his idea. It wasn’t Sam’s idea. It was Opie’s. Give him shit for being lame, but also give him credit for creating the show that some people are still listening to almost a decade after it died.
Imagine if spuds Buckley actually stayed himself and we had an ant and jim show and they jocktobered him. That's some Rick and Morty multidimension shit I wanna see
Opie has some personality flaws which caused Anthony and Jim to separate themselves from him when the show ended …but to somewhat redeem himself, he should reach-out to Jim Chandler and reunite together on a morning radio show somewhere …implementing what not-to-do by the lessons of Joctober …being a non-douchey yet radio-friendly duo 📻 “Opie & Jim” has a nice ring to it 😜
Yes it's extremely uncomfortable when he brings it up and the record skips. I'm thinking it's because they know how sensitive Fezzy is and maybe don't want to be mean. Or it could be that it's just not a funny bit and has no legs.
53:11 - 53:20 - just time marking this for future listening. You can really tell both Ant and Jimmy really wanted to let that out of their systems for years at this point.
He worked at a college Station and a bunch of local stations when he was first starting. That's one of the few things he doesn't lie about and it's what you take issue with? Lol
Sam knew what he was doing, when Opie realized who Jim was, Sam intentionally said "Who Woody?" in order to throw off the scent. Then when Opie said he did radio with Jim, Sam goes "oh yes" as if he didn't know(again poorly acted). Then afterwards Sam says "This is the magic of Jocktober".
The chorus of the song originally is black and yellow black and yellow, the chorus is my blackberry my blackberry, it doesnt rhyme first of all and if u listen to it (im not sure what point they played it im done listening by now) but it just sounds off
Their parody is about the black berry, the lyrics make sense their song im denying that, and just because it has the same amount of syllables doesnt mean it flows in the same way, they actually sing it at the same speed of black and yellow but it sounds off because it doesnt rhyme with the actual song, but thats just my opinion i guess im not trying to start some big arguement this already went on to long, have a good one man
How is it not? Its just shoved in there and doesn't fit the flow of the original song at all and with song parodies you dont need to have the exact same rhyme scheme for the whole song but the chorus you should have the exact same one
I mean o and a have done from what I've heard LOTS of the things they are criticizing some of these programs of doing - bra bombing, brotha man , mother hucker , ant laughing way over the top at nothing and Opie getting laughs from prep stuff Sam made for jocktober
It's a song about the blackberry device. So that part make sense. 'Black and Yellow' is four syllables. So is 'My blackberry.' It may seem off, but it's not shoehorned in. It probably seems that way because of how fast they were trying to sing it.
It's cute that Opie thinks he's different than any of these guys featured on Jocktober.
+theskycavedin Paying his salary via CZcams...
It's still not as bad as the shit they find from morning zoo stations. Opie was definitely out of touch with the humor at times, but usually he gets the hint and shuts up after a few seconds.
He is different. He's much, much deeper in denial than any of these other hacks. He also has heftier bosoms.
His lack of self awareness was amazing
And yet you’re wasting time talking about him
This might be my favorite Jocktober ever.
I'll never believe Sam didn't do this intentionally.
Interesting theory. I think you're right.

haha.. was sad at the end.. hearing Patrice walk in that was his last appearance =(
Thanks for keeping it lite!
I still miss jocktober

Opie would've been jim chandler's cohost if it weren't for Ant, and would've fit right in.
Both of his timelines end with “Opie&Jim”
Dude spot on, too funny. And true.

I lost it at the Fudgie Wudgie bar comment.
Man that fez bit is why Opie is the best! I̶n̶t̶e̶r̶r̶u̶p̶t̶i̶n̶g̶ w̶i̶t̶h̶ Suggesting that bit every jocktober is awesome radio.
37:55 The tide turns.
I like to think some creep found this guy from opies past then suggested this show to Sam
Sam is the creep

8:00 I've had that goddamn song stuck in my head all fucking day
WE'RE TWO GUYS.... oh wait, wrong show
I'm sure that even though Jocktober has been over for almost three years, Opie is still trying to force his dumb Fez bit.
IEatStrayCats , even when he mentions it in other jocktober bits, nobody responds.
Yes it's extremely uncomfortable when he brings it up and the record skips. I'm thinking it's because they know how sensitive Fezzy is and maybe don't want to be mean. Or it could be that it's just not a funny bit and has no legs.
You don’t want Fez’s from around the world?
@@robertmckeeverii6038 less than I want an AIDS smoothie
fez from accross the globe is a LAME idea
It fucking died on the vine the way it should have. Like plenty of Opie bits, it died quickly like an unvaccinated child
Jim's "blood spot on the ankle" line made me lose it.
The best transcription of that music I've seen so far.
"intern adam is a standalone fruit"
Lol that was probably the best one

Love it when Op's uncomfortable.
When was he uncomfortable?

How many people did Opie "Start" in radio with? That radio station must've had like 40 people working there.
I don’t know, how many?
He went to college
He worked at a college Station and a bunch of local stations when he was first starting. That's one of the few things he doesn't lie about and it's what you take issue with? Lol
it's shoehorned because the emphasized syllables are in awkward arrangement, even though the number of syllables do match
Woody looks like Stanhope if he never drank or did a drug in his life
I can’t unsee that now 😂 spot on
Nah, same to me
Opie mentioned a few weeks ago that he's kind of back in touch with Jim now.
.......did he?
I love how Anthony’s regular voice is what most people think of as a radio voice.
better than Dopie @ 2:53 "Fezssss"
Wow, that might be the funniest thing I've ever heard.
this is amazing, love o & a
The original Opie and Jim
Burnin Emba's haha Never gets old
Ant and Jim definitely used this moment of opportunity to express their distain of Opie LMFAO
Edit: Especially @ 53:09
It wouldn't be a Jocktober bit if there wasn't the point where someone asks "Do we belong to Prepburger? We should!"
1:04:18 -- "Sam is trying to fuck you over here for your job"
And now Sam has Opie's job.
What happened when Opie talked to Jim Chandler? Did they do it on the air?
Yeah, they fucked.
Jocktober's finest moments.

Isn't Thomas Dolby a stage name? I'm pretty sure he wasn't born with the name Dolby. Isn't very British sounding...

Ray Dolby was the guy behind Dolby sound.
"The loose cannon even in college" ewwww
What a twist!
@WillyWobSk8in there's a LFTC video on youtube with Anthony specifically saying "You will never hear Colin Quinn on our show again."
19:00 the opster sure does know alot about what you yet with prep burger
yes it was
@Pandemonium72 wow dude you thought that was serious...
I think we were roommates?? How does opie not remember
53:18 is Chipperson gold
@emwalker Even over John and Jeff or The Bee Morning Coffee Club???
How?
I thought Colin was banned from the show?
so does anyone know if they ever called them or did a follow up?
I do
@Pandemonium72 why would he be?

Just so I'm clear; what lyrics exactly don't fit?
I want a jockpair named "Hammer and Headsmashed".
When Opie realized this was his ex co-worker he changed his tune quick
I also listened to the clip
When Ant and Jim noticed it was his old friend they made fun of him
that guy looks more like fred flintstone.
@bvee10 glad i'm not the only one who thinks that
I guess so. You too.
Fuckin great
niceeeeeeeeeeeeee
The best jocktober for me was the most recent Scott and Todd, the shitty stinger music makes me laugh every fucking time
I love the guys, but they need to stop comparing themselves to other stations.

Rebecca Jones more like an even dumber Doug Stanhope
Have they ever shit on Bob & Tom?
Pretty sure opie knew that was his friend the whole time. His horrible acting gives it away

This comment aged very well.

@WillyWobSk8in "dude", really? grow up.
Opie is a glorified board op
These guys are clowns
The chorus wasn't shoehorned. Not saying the song was good. Just not shoehorned.
Jimmy's Chip character is never funny,
That's the point you idiot.
But then it is funny because it's so unfunny
