Wow, they got Doctor J !
Crazy right lol that’s that 76ers connection but that’s love ❤️
Dr. J still as cool as ever man. Dude was so humble that’s crazy, he revolutionized the game and culture man.
Real life uncle drew.

TRUTH SPOKEN!!!!!!
Ayoo you fellas really got Dr.J🐐 Next step let’s get Mike..👀🔥
Only fitting
No chance
Mike is so Hollywood no chance
Mike is kinda introvert and doesnt like interviews.
@@unboxkalikot1172 Only because he doesn’t usually like when his blatant narcissism gets exposed. That’s why The Last Dance was such a novelty
Dr J has the most relaxing voice
Thats his persona.....totally at ease, mellow hoop legend
Dr. J politely said “I’d be lebron if we had the internet “ lol great job getting the goat on.
If y’all could have Oscar Robertson on that would be sooooo dope
Bro Oscar Jerry or Bill Russell would be the greatest guests of all time
L
@@Zaghzackio Especially Bill Russell. It's a blessing that man is still alive
He’s not known for being the friendliest guy
I guess
I apreciate how Tommy in every episode knows when to speak and when to listen, a true co-host!! LOVE YOU TOMMY!!
Finally someone showing love to Tommy
More OGs to the podcast, please!
Yoooo Dr J here??? Thats a haaammer
The NBA League does not survive without the arrival of Julius Dr.J Erving
Facts
100%..Magic & Larry get all the credit but the NBA was on the rise when the NBA took in the Nets, Spurs, Pacers and Nuggets...Dr. J was the league icon and he passed the torch to Magic & Larry and they ran with it til Jordan came
Interesting. Had there not been a Dr J, we would all know a lot more about the legendary George Gervin.
@@williammorrison6311 also true
Underrated legend. It's unfortunate that there is so little footage of him in the 70's.
I grew up in Brooklyn when the Nets had Rick Barry then Dr. J. Trust me he was not underrated in the early and mid seventies where I was at.
He’s underrated for the casual NBA viewer. Anyone who knows the game & its history knows he’s a legend. There is no Magic & Larry without Dr. J
@@stuartperry8141 word...i grew up in Brentwood Long Island and my father used to take us to Nassau Coliseum to see the Nets play ALL the time... Rick Barry, then Dr. J with Larry Kenon, Billy Paultz and Super John Willamson ...good times
yes..agree...most of the footage is of him on the 76ers...even later in his career he was still making some iconic dunks(rocking the cradle) and he did get a championship, but I would love to see more of his nets days...
Can tell the racial subtext of the time when he talks about the dunk rule and having the chains taken off. Dr J, class act and eternal basketball legend, lookin like he 55 at 70
I was thinking the same thing mans looks young as hell
He looks bout 65 lol
Dr. J is a class act and a legend. When he played, he had this aura about him, with his Afro with the Converse and his high flying. He got that swag to him. (And he from NY)
Dr. J is the classiest guy ever. Not even in all sports I'm talking among all guys at all
ME: Sees the thumbnail and Title
ME: THEY GOT THE DOCTOR!!!
Loving the mix of young players and NBA Legends.
I used to watch Dr. J as a young kid at the Island Garden, he was the main attraction and sensation in the ABA, he inspired a lot of kids in the NYC who loved Basketball during his era, the greatest dunker ever.
Doc is so knowledgeable about the game. Great interview.
even down to his pronunciation of ADIDAS
Doc was box office GOLD back in the day when you had to generate buzz via word of mouth. Doc's brand would be in the stratosphere if he played today. There are things that he did in games that I still can't wrap my brain around. And he's still one of the coolest cats walking the planet.
Dr. J is just so cool.
Dr.J is the most classy pro athlete ever. Julius Erving will forever be for me the slam dunk champ

I'm 36 years old but I think Dr J's 'Rock the Baby' jam was the greatest of all time! I didn't grow up watching him, but that highlight was savage as F fam fam!
My all time favorite player. There's a direct line from Dr. J to MJ stylistically. Before Bird and Magic arrived, he was the face of the NBA. That 1983 76ers team with Doc and Moses Malone gets overlooked as one of the greatest of all time.
Stylistically, don’t forget David Thompson.
@@kylec2761 Cocaine dealers don't forget him.
from Baylor, connie Hawkins and Gus Johnson to Kobe/mj, dr.j and LeBron James(almost one to one comparisons in terms of ability and build with gus honey comb Johnson)
Dr. J one of the OG's nothing but love and admiration
This cultured man mentioned sneakercon and I didn't expect anything less💯
Growing up I was best friends with his son, meeting him was like meeting Jesus. All love and respects to you Jules 💙
That’s incredible man
Truly a Legend.. Besides his great play and success in Basketball, I really like his vibe, how he talks and behaves himself.
he’s so wholesome you love to see it
Man the only time I’ve ever been star struck was meeting the legend dr jay
He shook my whole arm .. respect them while they’re here!!! Salute
Man I could listen to Dr. J for hours on end
A legend🐐🐐 Dr J was my grandmother and my mother’s favorite player
@@lvl9j34 I do, my grandmother was a basketball coach for a long time and both were huge sixer fans
I forget you do this as audio 1st. Tommy face with the Bidet ad is amazing! One of the best DR J interviews I have seen. He was so relaxed. He always chill but this was different. Great work!!
One of the best sports interviews I have seen, and what an admirable man. Good of you guys to listen to him vs waiting to talk.
Dr. J's explanation of players who are truly "legends" versus "guys who stopped by to have a cup of coffee in the league" is epic. Always a class act... Loved watching him play. 16 seasons in the ABA and the NBA. He inspired those he played with and an entire generation of future players, plus so many fans. Miss the "melee's" back in the day. Julius IS the GOAT! 🏆🏀
Dr J to me you are the best NBA player, I have ever seen. I was fortunate to live in the state between the middle 70's to the middle 90's. now l live overseas but still follow the NBA. peace and health to you and family. I love you maestro
I loved the interview. Dr. J is an all-around smooth cat, even without the Afro
The GOAT in so many ways. Maybe not the best ever but my favorite of all time. I met him after a game once. You'll never meet a nicer, more gracious athlete period
Dr. J I'm very thankful for the things you did on the court.
Hope they get more legends like dr. J they have so much wisdom and great stories great pod one of my favs!
They should get MJ!
My drive to work will be promising thanks to this podcast
Julius Erving,, for young guys as my self,, at that time and others, we had no idea that the elements of business to be successful,,, was explained so respectfully and graciously... GREAT INTERVIEW..
just sit back and soak in all the knowledge, smart men 🤝
Dr J was one of my favorite players of the '70s, he was Mr Excitement, Doc came to deliver!
The DR def need a lot more praise an recognition!!
When greatness meets class you have Dr J
"The Fish that saved Pittsburg" one of my favorite movies they don't make family movies like that anymore😊
Classic playground at night scene...with the Stylisitics singing 🔥🔥🙏🏽🙏🏽
My favorite player of all time the doctor Julius Erving.
That man is true class by any definition. My favorite ambassador of the NBA. Another one of those players I hated because he was the opponent, but grew to respect for the competitive effort.
Great interview! The doc really seems like such a humble and genuine guy. Would absolutely love to see a Bill Russell interview
Dr. J is a legend. I'm looking forward to watching this one.
Its amazing content thank you guys for this. Love these underated legends. A fan from France.
Podcast was already on the map, but y’all took it to a whole new level with this one
brilliant, lovin' this chat. Get the "Cap" up soon. Another legend who knows how to say what we need to hear.
Dr J eloquent speaker and great interview from JJ
This is such a great interview and content!! Go JJ!! Doing big things!
Excellent interview! You guys were gracious cohost to the legend Dr.J. He was one of the best ever and the coolest cats around! Pure Class!
This is a first for the podcast world! The great Dr. J! JJ you’re a beast for this one! Tommy you too!
Wow this is awesome. Dr J was one of my childhood heroes when he was on the 76’ers.
Always a great listen
Dj is a smooth brotha
LEGENDARY!!! And I haven’t even started the interview yet
Awesome interview 👍🏽 Everytime I think of Rucker Park, I always think of the Legendary Dr J.
Pelase have more Legends on the show, let's give them their roses while we still have them.
One of my favorite players ever
I try to watch entire vids before commenting now
Good Vid🍇
Y’all got Dr. J ! Officially goated
JJ's podcast is 🔥🔥🔥
May all time favourite player by miles. Great guy. Humble & with great integrity.
JJ has the most informative podcast. He really does his research and shows up prepared for every guest. All the Smoke is probably a bit more entertaining but the questions Matt asks are vague. "You played for the 76ers? Tell us about that". Never goes in-depth like JJ does.
good observation all the smoke is more of a hangout and story telling type of barber shop vibe and this is more of a casual yet organized interview style that has a bit more of a focused take
Stack is just high as a kite every show
@@Cofitube94 And Matt takes every opportunity he can to diss him lmao
@@xbeeslebossx You’re right on the money with your analysis! Personally, I like both podcasts but they are definitely acquired tastes.
I would put Knuckleheads in the same category as All the Smoke although they go a little more in depth with their questions.
Appreciative of Dr. J.... on and off the court, great interview guys!
Thank u fellaz!!! A true goat and one of my all time faves and best people on earth. Love Dr j
No way bro, that's so dope!! You guys are right up there with the Knuckleheads and All the Smoke!
Great episode guys! Dr J is a boss
The Goat... greatest player ever..
yo JJ, get the Iceman please!!! Love the 70s and 80s stories !
Loved every part besides the 3 ads in a row
Enjoyed this! More old school NBA interviews would be good!
Nice!!! Dr. J!!! Good job guys!
The Doc is always class in every way.
This is awesome!
The man that changed the league game. THE LEGENDARY JULIUS THE DOCTOR IRVINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
Great 👍🏽 interview.
JJ, Y'all got Dr. J... Holy Cow!!
Wow JJ, great job. You got the Doc!
So many questions I would love to ask ,damm it's just made my day
Your podcast are just constant W's
This is amazing
Wow The Doc in the house! 🙌🔥 Episode
Lord I love this man Julius Dr J Errrrrrrrrrrrrrrving!!!!
This is an INSTANT CLASSIC!! 🙌🏾🔥🏀👑💯💪🏾
The legend
I love how zero time was spent by DrJ on who was his best opponent was. He was saying Kareem's name before the question was done lol
didn't call him Kareem either, called him Lew Alcindor which was his name back when they played together. that was dope as hell
@Rex Icarus Listen, even though Doc was a truly great and transcendent player, there were other 1970s stars who are in the conversation for second best of the decade: Rick Barry, John Havlicek, and Bill Walton come to mind. For the sake of argument , I would also throw Walt Frazier into the mix, and there are those who would take Gervin over Dr J.
Dr J!! Damn man this is awesome
havent even watched yet but i am soooooooooooo hype. i worked in the aba straight out of college it's so cool to hear you guys talk about the league!
56:35 i have this exact moment in a picture framed right next to my desk this is sooooo dope
Never been more exited for one of these before!! LMAO he also said ADIDAS correct, the GOAT.
This episode should be goated
My favorite player ever
JJ stepping up the pod with this NBA legend
Best NBA player podcast on CZcams. Still waiting on a Kyle Lowry interview.
Better than “all the smoke” you think
@@saintclairdmv2345 I personally prefer JJ's style of interviewing. I find that Matt and S Jax can, at times, talk over the interviewee and make it more about themselves. This is just my perception, might not be the reality.
Best mix of guests in the sports podcast biz.
awesome..happy for you guys
