i still think scott uses the phrase "summer job" to refer to part time job. the fact that the steam discussion was in summer was just a coincidence imo

  • @goober112

For some companies they used to use "summer hire" training videos to train temp people who have to go back to school or whatnot after summer; some of those video still linger today, so I wouldn't be surprised if Fazbear entertainment just used the same training "messages" (phone guy) bc they're cheap & they've proved that several times. You just hit a small chunk in the "fazbear entertainment is cheap & always cutting corners" iceberg.

have you ever just thought that summer just takes place in november in the fnaf universe

  • @danielle5160

I think the "Summer Job" was thrown in to the Phone Guy call because Scott thought of Jeremy Fitzgerald as being like a college student or whatever, and he didn't think of how that would contradict the date on the paycheck. I mean, the time of year that FNAF 2 takes place in doesn't really matter on it's own, it only matters that the Phone Guy calls could be from months earlier, so I think it's plausible that Scott wasn't focusing on those minor details.

  • @goober112

Wow it's like the phone guy tapes were pre-recorded. Something we've all known for years. ALMOST LIKE HE RECORDED THEM BEFORE HE D*ED. It's kinda obvious when you get the paycheck that the tapes were prerecorded. Imagine that, the tapes were recorded for someone's "summer job", you still need fall/winter/spring security. Who tf opens there business only one season of the year, that's bad business.

  • @nosferty7234

Its always been interesting to me that, with cell phones dating back to 1973 and answering machines being essentially tape recorders that trigger after x amounts of rings, none of the phone calls should be ringing prior to hearing a click and phone guy talking bc why does the person recording the messages need to call in when they can just press the record button, fnaf3 night 2's tape that phone dude is the only one that doesn't, putting into question all the ones that do. And thats without mentioning the fact that they were in the sealed safe room

  • @annepixiebettinger3593

I was just gonna say they were too lazy to get new tapes and those are old ones

  • @aliendilo3105

I genuinely think it's just a mistake. Occam's Razor, he probably recorded/wrote phone guy's lines before giving the specific date too much thought, and then forgot to change it.

  • @MrAppleSalad

Something worth noting is that the newspaper in FNAF 1 also mentions it being a "summer job".

  • @rgbaddict9200

We need Matt Pat to review this 🧐

  • @Kira_Haon

Using a pixelated scout, as a stand in for Jeremy the night guard is a nice touch👍🏻.

  • @hsfhanaa

Phone guy is just doing his job and reading the script

I want to disagree with the last point. I don't think the release dates are accurate to the game's placement in the year. FNAF 1 happening in August obviously not true, but FNAF 6 happens in October, there are posters announcing the fall fest in the alleyway images, so the release dates cannot be used as evidence to infer where do the games take place. I do believe FNAF 4 was MEANT to happen in July, but The Curse of Dreadbear DLC, as well as the death date of Sammy in the novels, imply that it happens in October, specifically in Halloween. So, release dates cannot be used as evidence to extrapolate dates.

yo wtf i was watching this and scrolled down expecting like 100k+ subs you deserve way more subs bro amazing video

  • @Snooopyy.

GOD DAMN!!! You're underrated 😭 This was such a great video, you deserve more recognition

  • @historyhub5389

I agree with you that it’s likely a company script, but I feel like the reason it says summer instead of fall could just be that the first guard they hired was in the summer when the building was mostly complete but not yet open

  • @chaoraiser2338

honestly a lot of points brought up here that i didn't think about so great job however i did hear something about nightmare balloon boy was canon at that time also personally i think elizabeth dies in 1986 then sister location takes place around 1988-1989
