- Major Minis is the miniatures line by one of the biggest youtubers in the Warhammer 40,000 lore space, Majorkill. His miniatures are all inspired by 40k lore and range from characters and chapters we'd all love to see from Games Workshop like Tuska Demon-killa. It also adds crossover minis like Tyranids that look like Xenomorphs.

I’ve ordered from them a couple times and it was always good, until I ordered his Big E model.
Edit - I have heard back from them and while it isn’t sorted yet, it is in the process.
Edit #2 Major minis made this whole thing right. There were obviously some issues here and there but it is sorted now. His customer service people were great and they absolutely made it all good.
I look forward to using some more of Major minis in paint competitions this year.

Ugh that's horrible. Thanks for posting that just so other people can see it. I've never had to deal with their customer service so I couldn't speak to it. But it sounds pretty bad.
if you still have the order number and stuff im fairly sure major kill or his mods are very active on discord and usually reply to stuff there, they replied to emails i sent though so, not sure.

my big e just arrived and one of the pauldrons doesn't fit property either and I can't help but feel somethings wrong with the cape.

I got the Big E, Kitten, and the King Ork. All very solid minis, I especially liked Kitten’s duel disk, though his spear had some serious layer lines. but it took months to get to me due to all the issues he had with the Big E.

My buddy got Ra and Big E and I helped him put them together. They look great but they were a pain to put together. The material they use were so fragile bits kept snapping and breaking despite our best efforts to be careful. Also “HATE” those 3D sprues vs the GW sprues (about 70% of the snapping parts was due to just trying to get them off the sprue). We put these together and some official custode models and while GW’s prices are ridiculous, getting a side by side comparison really made me appreciate the material and quality control gw puts into their minis. Especially now that more of their stuff is plastic, you don’t have to worry about it exploding when you accidentally drop the mini or clip the wrong way. Rn I primed my buddy’s major minis for him but honestly neither of us are excited to paint them out of fear of breaking anything else.
I order ra and I had to toss it. The swords were so thin and the Citadel glue wouldn't work on the material. It kept falling off no matter how much I used
@@valdr2286 Ya we had the same issue with his sword. We used super glue to get it back on but it’s so thin the slightest pressure will knock it off.

@valdr2286 I get the same issue with the swords, they're thin but it is 3D printed and I expected that but in terms of glue, they need Super glue, citadel glue is poly cement, that stuff melts plastic together, not resin so yeah for gluing, use super glue
I have an Eldar Harlequins Solitare proxy, an Asurmen proxy, a Maugan Rah proxy, a Fugan proxy, and a Karandras proxy, and they were all awesome! Loved the detail and pretty much everything. I'm not a big fan of his YT channel but the minis are top notch in my opinion.

Having ordered and received the Big E model, I will say that appearance-wise, it's on-par with GW models, but in terms of durability, not so much. If you're not extremely careful, you might end up breaking the smaller resin parts. I ended up losing the fake sun that goes behind his head because it broke and I couldn't find all the pieces. Hell, even part of the Eagle statue behind him broke off, but wasn't unsalvageable.
As for the wait, it did take months, but he did say in his video that it would probably take a while for all the preorders to ship out.
I have some of his models. I love them, my only gripe is how fragile the tiny xenonids are. Ive had many a time fixin them
I get that he's not everyone's cup of tea but I do like how regularly he posts. I listen to a bunch of lore vids while at work so him and some others are welcome to the space as far as I'm concerned. Plus the dude is willing to make vids entirely dedicated to admitting when he's wrong.
As for the Big E, I remember him stating that he has printers specifically for filling in the preorders while the rest are for the general store. Sounds like he's sending them out in waves, mentions them here and there at the beginning or end of his content.
His vids are majorMid but he's minis are cool

Got the Tyboros not so mini model from him & I can officially say it was bloody gorgeous model.Easy to build & a pleasure to paint.God bless the shark boys.Looks frigging great on table top.
King ork is a nice one, I bought one for my brothers Ork army.
I can't wait to get mine in, hopefully the Big E model ships out soon so I can get it.
Ive bought the big e mini, should arrive in maybe a couple days but i have been getting updates regarding it and appearantly there was a bunch of issues with new printers
I got his swarmlord xenomorph mini and it was really great, other then not comings with a base
Got the King Ork, Kitten, Lightning Captain and Demon Lord Empire Ender so far, purely as display pieces. The first order was a bit delayed, but not unreasonably, just enough to make me worry a little about the lack of shipping notifications. The second one was shipped and arrived without any unexpected delays. I might be ordering again if I find something I like.
The quality is fine. Haven't found any printing flaws, but the Lightning Captain has some really fragile parts.
THATS WHAT THE MODELS CALLED!!! I saw artwork of the 'king ork' painted uip as an iron warrior and it looked amazing. I need to get that model, and use it as a chaos lord for my iron bois.
That would be such a cool way to use that mini! I never thought of using it as an iron warrior or chaos lord, love that idea!
Let's not kid ourselves. GW fully made us go to different companies regardless of their policies. I snuck so many 3rd party minis in an actual Tourney directly after their B.S. proclamation. No one noticed and I placed mid tier lol
You could buy 1 model split it for parts to convert a whole squad of minis, so could be sort of used at gw events😋

Just got the email that the "Big E" model is shipping out, so hopefully the quality is good on that.
I ordered three minis from him across two ourchases a while back and the minis were generally good quality but neither purchase went flawlessly.
First time my order bounced due to customes issues, but this was when his minishop was relatively new and to his credit he got back reasonably fats and sent me a new mini.
Second time one of the minis were missing its head, I didnt really bother with this and didnt reach out to him about it since I was planning a headswap but it would have sucked for another project.
Overall the minis themselves were quite good. They had a very different feel compare to GW models where you really could tell that they were third party based on how small some details were compared to how chunky GW is which seem to make them a little bit more fragile in general. I would not say these are dealbreakers and I do think the models are quite nice alternatives but you do feel the difference to GW in a lot of ways.

I just saw his video doing that to someone else a day or two ago. He's swinging really low if he wants to go after a under 2k sub Kill Team channel lol. Especially for saying his minis are pretty good.

I was looking forward to the youtube drama mudslinging but honestly he handled hinself well. He took his L like a man and apologized. It always seems like his detractors forget that and act as if they never had an embarrasing kneejerk reaction like that before
Feel like they should probably remove the bits from the supports before shipping them. It seems a little shitty to just send them on supports, especially when already cured. The cured supports can sometimes scar the model if not removed correctly
I've seen a few people say that in the comments. I think I just got lucky with mine not having any scarring from it. I'll have to look up the proper techniques and do a how-to video on that.
Honestly, I've got a printer farm and I've 3D printed entire armies. Unless your support density is incredibly high, or you're trying to cure very large pieces, marine sized and smaller pieces do not really need their supports off and it helps smaller pieces not warp as you cure them by having that extra. My biggest issue is that his resin is fragile. I use the elegoo 2.0 resin and it's a near perfect balance of strength and flexibility. Highly recommend.
My gf got me the thunder warrior cus I like major kill enough and it was cool and she wanted to get me a gift. I would bump the arm or the sword while painting and it would break it sucks cus I love the model and I am going to have to put wire through the entirety of the model so it doesn’t keep shattering. It broke right on these bad print lines that were everywhere. Other wise fantastic model beautiful sculp.
ugh sorry to hear about how bad of an experience that was. Mine have held up pretty well, and i'm not overly gentle with them. They get thrown in the big box with all the other GW minis. I wonder if the process just isn't consistent and that's why I've seen so many mixed reviews in the comments here.

I'm sure purchasing from Major Minis is a better experience than dealing with Hasslefree Miniatures, I'm going on two months now and not a peep from them on my order. What to do? What to do?
I don't think GW can actually do anything about the Major Minis; he doesn't violate any of their trademarks, he doesn't falsely claim they can be used for official purposes, and he clearly advertises them as "legally distinct Not-Warhammer" products so as to have unambiguous deniability of brand/product confusion.
I love the minis, I built a whole Minotaurs army based around the space spartan
I have the ork demon killa, ra, and a csm sword guy. All solid minis, but i wouldnt fill my army with them. seems a good amount of people complaining havent worked with anything other than gw plastic which is its own issue though.
Personally I have army that's completely GW since I would love to play Sister competitively. However I do have a Emperors Children army I'm making to help me on kit bashing since they are inherently needing to be bashed. So where as I'd love a 3rd party Emperors children model (save the nude one) I'd hate a sisters of battle
Makes sense to me. I have a fair amount of my Ork army kitbashed, but it's still GW plastic. I'm going to be adding in non-GW units but still have enough GW to play competitively.
The whole reason Wahapedia is based in Russia is BECAUSE Games Workshop knows all about them and tried to have them shut down. And they know that people make their own custom minis to sell, which is why third party minis are banned in official GW-run tournaments.
I got the big e. An overall it’s great model. But it’s not perfect. There is blurred detail in multiple places. Back of the left hamstring detail basically disappears. The skulls on the knees you can’t even make out the teeth. Bit of closer quality control needed. It’s a shame as it could have been something very special. This also seems to common as anyone I’ve asked who’s have arrived, said they had the same thing. The most annoying part is the right leg is perfect. Yet the back of that leg is covered by his cape
Is that the tabletop sized Big E? I'm wondering if the bigger models used the same file and have the same issue.
@@NightfireGamingYT yeah that was the table top. I’ve been watching and watching for a 72mm in the hopes more of the detail is there. It’s still a beautiful model. But it’s not perfect
They don't even remove the supports? 5 months to wait for a 3d printed mini? Do they only have one at the shop or something.
The existence of OnlyGames basically renders Majorkill's store completely obsolete by being leagues better in every regard. If you don't even remove the supports before shipping, there's basically no quality control going on. If you can't fully examine each part, you don't know what you're shipping, that's just a fact. And at prices like his, you should expect basically perfection from a resin printed models.
As someone who's printed all his models at home for years now, I know from personal experience that removing supports from models before curing takes literally seconds with the hot water trick and leaves basically no support scars if everythingis done right. Telling customers to remove supports after curing is a ridiculously stupid concept.
On top of all of this,Majorkill also uses quite frankly terrible and brittle resin, but charges more than OnlyGames, who use their own durable resin mix.
I will have to look into that website. I've heard people mention it before but never bought from it. I don't think I've ever heard anyone say anything but great things.
Kind of misleading to suggest that it's his sense of humor that is polarizing. Dude has a pretty toxic personality, and has almost gone out of his way to step on the toes of different parts of the fanbase, simply due to his lack of self control.

It's not his sense of humour that puts me off, it's the way he repeats meme-lore as if it were deep-lore and it shows to anyone who's done a bit of reading.
If I'm going to watch lore videos I'd like to know that the person making them has actually read the lore they're talking about.
Personally I avoid most GW products anymore, I like 40k but I hte what GW has turned it into, so I play one page rules and buy 3d party minis, or second hand gw stuff on ebay. GW burned every bridge it has with me and I will never return to them as a consumer.
Rather buy a 3D printer and buy files off cults or myminifactory, the price he is charging for a single resin printed model is insane.
Yes but it is cuz of the fact Resin is expensive as hell, he pays people for those files and prints aren't always perfect so the price is mostly compensating for lost resin
To be honest, £15-20 for a resin character is decent, especially when you factor in the fact that he gives free worldwide shipping. Whilst the resin might not cost that much, he also has to pay for when prints fail, recoup the money spent on the actual printers, pay for electricity costs etc, and make a profit on top. It’ll all add up, and I have no qualms with the price being what it is.

From reading the comments here, I didn't realize how uncommon it was to sell unprocessed minis. If I re-did this video I'd spend more time pointing that out.

I was born in the early 80s so my humor is far darker and more vile. His humor is like listening to grade school kids learning swears for the first time.
I would never pay more than a few dollars for 3D printed models and I own vast armies of GW models so its not like I'm cheap. I just dont see any value in 3D printed models, even if they come with the STL.

I don't dislike MajorKill because of his sense of humour, I dislike him because he's massively full of himself to the point where he assumed WesHammer's videos were plagiarizing his because... they covered the same topic like 2 years apart? He's pulled down and deleted the video since because he got a lot of bad press about it, but he did an entire video dissing WesHammer saying he was ripping him off. Massive respect to WesHammer, he pretty much never got involved and just ignored the entire thing.
He is Australian - so the humour is gonna be rough round the edges.
I don't really get offended by anything, so worse case is I just don't find something funny. But overall I really like the content. When you use that kind of humor not everything is going to land.

If Adeptus Ridiculous or Kirioth or someone else with some decency decides to put out a model line I'll be onboard though and I'd prefer that than buying from GW. Edit: And they're not on a sprue and are resin, I wouldn't buy these even if he wasn't a crappy person.

had the misfortune of printing a model of theirs for someone else. I don't think I have ever seen such a poorly remeshed model in my life. and I'm saying that as someone who uses Blender for a living.
