I have a strange feeling that such bands don't happen anymore. I mean - teenage bands, composed of only boys, that are not "boysbands", playing sadder songs with a sharper sound. And Bill Kaulitz's style was simply AMAZING.
I had the same observation. I feel like it’s because TV and radio become less and less significant and youtube/Internet becomes more and more dominant. On TV and radio, the channel decides what you see and they buy only so many licenses. So back then people only got to see a small amount of singers which means more exposure for these singers. On CZcams the viewer has countless options on what to listen to, which means the views are more evenly distributed among the artists and mega stars are less likely.
I miss that time so much, just hearing their song brings me back to that time, and damn I miss it

Присоединяюсь к ностальгирующим в комментариях. Мне почти 26, вспоминаю с приятной грустью тот период своей жизни. Школа, друзья, обычные проблемы как у всех подростков, куча плакатов по всей квартире, в наушниках по дороге домой токи, газетные киоски, где покупались журналы «браво» и «все звезды». There is just so much emotion put into this and I love that. That's what is amazing about the German language. Everything sounds so much more emotional and you can really feel it in your heart, the pain.
I totally forgot about this song and I just listened to it again and felt goosebumps. This song saved me so many times and helped me get through really rough times. 12 year old me would be proud of how far in life I have gotten.

Je me souviens que j'étais Fan de Tokio Hôtel en 6eme jusqu'en 4eme. Et que tout le monde détestais mais moi vraiment j'adorais, et en fait j'aime toujours. Je trouve vraiment qu'ils avaient du talent ils chantaient super bien ! Et en fait je pense que j'aimerais toujours :')
Je suis de Belgique donc je sais pas trop à quel âge équivaut ce niveau d'étude... Moi j'avais 16 ans quand une amie m'a fait découvrir, peu de temps avant que la France (et la Belgique donc) apprenne en masse leur existence. Et moi aussi j'ai passé mon temps à les défendre, j'étais en admiration devant Bill, j'étais à la limite de la groupie de base (je n'ai jamais agressé personne et n'ai jamais rêvé de l'épouser, mais j'ai bien fait un piercing à la langue pour lui ressembler un peu mdr - j'avais déjà envie d'un piercing, je ne savais juste pas où lol). J'écoutais leurs albums en boucle, surtout le soir avant de dormir. Malheureusement je n'ai jamais eu la chance de les voir en concert, ce qui restera un grand regret même en sachant que je ne suis clairement plus aussi fan qu'avant et que c'est surtout la nostalgie qui me donne plaisir à les écouter à nouveau ... (ps : aujourd'hui encore, je n'arrive pas à me décider sur quelle version de Rette Mich je préfère, la voix fluette et la voix plus masculine ? x'D)

But when I heard this song for the very 1st time (and that was actually when the video came out itself - in 2006, right?) I was 9 years old and despite of not understanding anything, I was fully fascinated by what I just saw, and this feeling still remains ever since..)) Btw, the favourite TH song of mine is actually 'Hilf mir fliegen` - and I still find it as some misunderstanding that they didn't turn it into a single, didn't translate it to English and include to the 'Scream' album, and I don't even remember TH performing it live not even once! I mean, this song is something above and beyond, and it surely deserved much more attention..))

The more I watch their old stuffs, the more my heart wants to cry... they were perfect, God, PERFECT. I hope that, one day, in their career, if everything goes right, they come back to their native style, or at least they come close to it, and... keep on singing in German. They left a huge mark in German music industry and that's admirable.

In my 15-16 years I've found in them some persons which weren't my idols, they were my mates, they watched the world the way I watched it, they were living a rising dream and for some reason I was connected to them because I was a dreamer, and I still am. They've always been considered the "losers" of the situation, and I felt involved cause for years I felt empty in my loneliness, with my ghosts in mind; I had a huge crush for their songs, I felt immediately a sort of empathy for them, and Bill was the extraordinary revolution in all, he spread a lot of strength through his apparent fragility.
Now, the point is they've changed, and that's normal, that's the course of events, but maybe we can't even realize the fact that also we are changing and I'm feeling it in my 22 year skin. It sucks cause I think that maturity bring us a vision more detailed of our reality, new responsibilities, but kinda deprives us from the carelessness, the sense of discovery we used to have in our teenage years... Back in the days there was more innocence even towards them, there still were extreme fans, but there were a different atmosphere, where music ruled... now some "Aliens" compete on who best insults Bill, which is really demotivating and ridiculous... times changed, that's why I refresh myself too often with some old Oberhausen concerts :)
@@Vectra00Itis Believe me so many people picked on Bill at that time also. I remember that they used to call him gay etc. They couldn't understand that a man's value is not about sexuality. He got very cool style and he shows the world who he is. Most of the people are faking who they really are bcause of what the society will think about them which is weak mentality..

Группа моей подростковой жизни. Эх... Где эти времена??. Когда я училась в школе мы с подругой любили слушать эту группу и покупали журналы с их плакатами, я помню я наклейки с ними покупала. Раньше не было слов "Краш", "Биас" и "Фанфики", но я помню как тогда уже писали фанфики о них с эротической фантазией. Мой биас был Том в то время, а моей подруге нравился Билл, и я помню как она рисовала мой портрет с Томом (моя подруга художник, правда я уже с ней не общаюсь). Раньше мои одноклассницы хотели выучить немецкий а сейчас все стремятся выучить корейский и теперь все фанатеют от BTS и пишут фанфики о них. Но я слушаю и BTS и Tokio Hotel до сих пор, они навсегда останутся в моем сердце ❤️❤️💖💖💖💖😊😊😊😊
That's crazy how much memories can be locked into one song you just randomly heard on mtv when you were 15. Hearing this after all these hears instantly snapped me back into that 15 year old girl who had huge dreams about life - all the pain, emotions that was back then now locked into childhood songs. Not sure, I wanted to open that pandora box now being a grown up.
Such a nostalgia, amazing days. They will never come back, but will always be in my heart.

Согласна) В том образе он был идеален и репертуар был другой, более душевный будто. А сейчас (посмотрела пару исполнений) всё под одну гребенку почти. Нет той самой изюминки. Но возможно Вы со мной не согласитесь)
Ich habe Tokio Hotel seit Anfang an verfolgt. Ich war so ein Riesen Fan. Hatte Mappen, Rucksäcke, Taschen, Schuhe Poster und und und leider hab ich nie in n Konzert gesehen weil ich immer zu jung war. Heute mit 22 kann ich mir keins leisten. Sie sind leider auch nie in meine Stadt gekommen. Aber ich war schon echt voll dabei

Это было эпоха жизни от этой группы тащились миллионы девочек которые ждали их тур тогда они приедут в их родной город чтобы попасть на их концерт билеты раскупались за несколько дней и это было очень быстро я думаю билеты очень дорогие были но девочки делали всё что могли чтобы попасть на концерт который они запомнят на всегда а шума сколько было на этих концертах. Мне будет уже 25 лет в этом году я их и сейчас люблю и слушаю. Rette Mich она настолько глубокая я под неё плачу эта песня просит о спасении жизни чтобы жить дальше. Те кто ещё не слушал её послушайте посмотрите клип перевод этой песни вам сразу её захочется скачать себе и эта песня будет вас спасать как и меня. Какая эта хорошая ностальгия которая вызовет улыбку на лице это было время которое мы любили и мне как и всем охота вернуться туда где оно и было.
