My head canon is the empress before Hancock is Rouge. Because Roger is the king so he needs an empress! And yeah Rouge has the strength to carry baby Ace in his womb for 20 months no ordinary mother could do that. And when nyon said she "died from love sickness" maybe it's a cover up that she left with Roger. Or since she died 20 months after Roger's execution she had to sacrifice everything for Ace and at the same time mourning for Roger so she technically died for/because of love.

Loved the in-depth Gloriosa analysis, very unique. I need to correct you on Captain John dying on God Valley, since we know that he died in a mutiny of his own crew after God Valley Incident.
Imagine if the mutiny was over alcohol or his treasure😂
Did like the in-depth Gloriosa analysis as well, only thing I think differently in is that I think she went to the island to get the paw paw fruit. Since the island is known as Amazon Lily maybe she knew about Lily and the fact the she potentially had the paw paw fruit(theory based on the poneglyphs). If she ironically got sent away by that fruit that could be why she stayed and just named the island that.
To be fair he rocks crew was said to all want to be captain. So what if captain John got the treasure and becomes temporarily rocks capt and the rest of the crew killed him on god valley?
Was that part of thriller bark or buggys adventure stuff?
I mean I assumed the crew that killed captain John was the one he started after rocks pirates fell apart.
Shakky could clash with Garp as a Kuja Pirate. Ive never understood why she had to be Rocks to fight with Garp. Kuja pirates are still pirates
Now I think Shakky was on Roger's crew. Given Garp only goes after Roger, it makes sense why she said he chased her and her crew around.
@arugono why would not just say that she sailed with Rayleigh and Roger then? Literally makes no sense, she clearly has her own history.
I think it's good, that we only get a Kuma Flashback for now. This way we won't loose focus of what really matters: Saturn on Egghead.
How suprised was I seeing Mr Randy Troy in the netflix season 2 live action writing team. It was a post on IG and I knew the real community is represented.
Of all the characters Oda could’ve pulled as people we’ve already met who were Rocks Pirates, Granny Nyon was basically at the bottom of my list.

I think that Big Mom is the one who saves Kuma from Saturn. It's stated multiple times in the chapter that Kuma is 9 years old, young enough for Big Mom to enter mothering mode (kids of 10 years and younger cause this to happen according to Zeus). Notice how she has no issue fully attacking the 15 year old Ivankov, but only tries to grab Kuma's fruit and gives up quite easily. This could be because Kaido's fruit was more important, but we've seen just how OP the Paw-Paw fruit is so I believe she didn't try as hard with Kuma because he's a kid. It could be that Kuma will Paw-Paw himself away, but Big Mom is literally right there watching a child get attacked. I find it hard to believe that she won't intervene, even if it's a Gorosei she's up against. I also believe that Kuma tells Bonney about this, and this is why she looks so much like Big Mom. Obviously, the pink hair is her own but because she saved her father and sees Big Mom as a hero, she tries to look like her. Also, even though Captain John didn't die here (he was killed by his crewmates over his treasure), I'm seriously starting to believe that Thriller Bark is God Valley.
Shoutout to Ginny D. Instigator for giving us God Valley Incident. Gloriosa was a nice additional surpise!

I think we'll see the God Valley because of Blackbeard, him being a history nerd and inspired by Rocks excitedly starts talking about God Valley to his prisoner Garp who was one of the main players in that incident.
And then they argue about the “true facts” of the story… it writes itself
A class system only matters if you recognize the classes. That has been a message in One Piece since the Celestial Dragons were first introduced. The Straw Hats, especially Zoro and Luffy had no clue about the Celestial Dragons and just treated them like any person who would do something bad. It was funny that they were the only ones not aware of the world nobles but also made sense as there was a bit of dumb luck in play with the straw hats up to that point.
Without acknowledgement of a class system everyone is the same.
When Oda gets in his bag, he’s easily the best story teller in all of manga, and imo all of fiction, this chapter is an example of it!
This year in One Piece has brought some of my favorite pre-TS characters back into Top 5 territory. Garp, Kuzan, and Kuma have always been well written but the long-term payoffs with them have been INSANE as a fan of them. And I think 2024 will go even further for them!
After learning that Gloriosa was on Rocks's crew at the time, I definitely want Hancock to learn about the God Valley incident, and see her reaction on whether Rayleigh was right or wrong to help Celestial Dragons, as well as how Gloriosa's "beloved" wasn't truly in the right assuming Rocks never intended to save the oppressed & enslaved.
Now that we know Garling and Whitebeard were in God Valley, I think Whitebeard was referring to Garling when he and Shanks met in the pretimeskip when Whitebeard said "Looking at your face reminds me of the scar he gave me"

Such greats theories Randy, thankyou! I love the use of earlier dialogue to predict upcoming events. Oda really has laid out everything for a character since their introduction and they're not just limited to their arc of introduction. I love that about this series.

Could there be a "Fate" aspect to Kuma's fruit. Like Bonnie with her age-age fruit she can manipulate the future version when aging people up. Could he just be wishing for fate to send the person he repels to the best location for them, and he does not need to know himself where that is?

Morj had a theory that Shanks is actually Rocks kid with a Figarland woman. It would still give the Garling connection, and it makes Shanks' background even more interesting as a sort of child of two worlds.

amazing analysis as usual, i was reading amazon lily last night cause of gloriosa, and am so glad you mention that Luffy learned diplomacy from the GOAT, Vivi. That idea that Kuma might repeat the "are you someone important?" to Saturn on Egghead had me so hype! it also got me realizing how wild it is that we are at the point of the story where the Gorosei are the villains right in front of our eyes, really interacting personally with our heroes and cast around the world. What a time to be alive and be a One Piece fan. Happy Birthday Randy and thanks for a great video.

I think Rocks crew, was him taking all of the supernovas of his generation except rodger crew due to them clashing. The Rodgers line where he is saying I waited a year was him wanting to prove to the supernovas of his generation that he is the best since their last battle was a tie. Luffy is sorta following in those footsteps as almost all his supernovas have followed him into battle

As mysterious as Boa’s predecessor has been, I think it’s very likely she is Luffy’s mom.
I think it’s also likely she’s the daughter of Gloriosa, potentially the crown jewel (princess) of Bee Hive Island.
Nothing to confirm it other than this prospective daughter & dragon’s ages lining up.

Nah doesn't fit, if the Sacred Jewel of Pirate Island was simply Gloriosa's daughter I don't see why Big mom, Kaido, Shiki, Captain John and the rest of the crew would be interested in claiming it for themselves, also there's the fact that Gloriosa didn't go back to Amazon Lily immediately after the Rocks Pirates fell, she went off on her own for a period of time until she encountered Boa and her sisters who were taken by Celestial Dragons where she sheltered them on Saboady alongside Rayleigh and his wife Shakky until she eventually brought them back in her final return to Amazon Lily, based on this the timeline doesn't add up for the Kuja Empress before Boa to be Gloriosa's daughter
