  • This is a quick tutorial on how to use the included Maxim Limiting Compressor in Pro Tools. Proper use of a limiter adds to the overall loudness of a track without compromising dynamic contrast.
A limiter such as Maxim is an excellent tool to use at the end of your recording and mixing process.

Thank you. I've been using maxim . It made things sound better, but I knew I wasn't doing it right. Now I actually know what I'm doing.

Hello friend, very good tutorial! For those of us who are starting out in the world of pro tools, more tutorials on their native plugins would be very useful... It would also be very good to know how and where to download their manuals... Thank you very much!

mine doesn't show mono as an output and when I select stereo the audio seems to be coming more out of the left ear than the right. I'm using a focusrite scarlett solo with earphones. Any advice would be helpful?

When I add my limiter for some reason it pans my vocals to my left speaker for some reason and sounds distorted as soon as I insert the limiter. I have (-12) - (-18) headroom in the mix is there something, a feature I should be looking out for?

You may want to check that the limiter is the multichannel version and not the mono one wen selecting the plugin.

Great video. In the maxim plugin, what happens if you don't have the knob all the way to 100% wet?
