I am 79 years old next week. Built an 10 X 12 storage shed with 12/12 roof last summer. Everything from 2 foot footings, concrete, framing, roof and shingles.
What a great learning experience. I plan to replace all my kitchen drawers and doors this month (or two?). Your explanation was wonderful and because of it I am much more comfortable at starting my new project. Keep on with video clips.

I just purchased 4 pairs of these Hettich Quadro 9 from Habitat for Humanity Store. I got lucky they only cost me 5 usd for all 4 New less the Front Fixing Clips and I was looking for instruction on the front Fixing clip as these are almost like Blum. Moving over to the Euro style undermounts away from side mounts and I am happy now that I can use these for a custom Bath Tower. It looks as if these have better adjustments than the Blum 563/569 slides. I may move over to only Hettich Quadro and not use Blum 563 for my Custom Kitchen Build.

Great video. So many details! Can I use these slides if I'm building the drawer box with 3/4" material?

    Thank you, that was helpful.
Let me tell you: I'm from germany, the country of origin of Hettich, but finding appropriate instructions for this other than IKEA Style drawings is hard... You showed it's not rocket science :)

Thank you Larry, for explaining the factors of the Quadro drawer slides. I am installing the 18" drawer slides and the slides can be mounted flush with the inside drawer bank sides. Given that mount, is it necessary to use (install) the rear mounting bracket at the back of the cabinet?

Hi Christina, This is Larry, If I understand you correctly you are side mounting so you do not need to use the rear mount brackets. I actually prefer the side mount application.

Is there a calculation you use on building the draw widths for the draws or just measure the width

Very helpful. Thank you! I can't figure out why the Quadra 4D are only 66lb capacity vs the cheaper iw21 are 100lb capacity. Any thoughts? The 4D is almost double the price.

Not sure where you're getting that information, but the entire Quadro line of drawer slides advertises static load ratings of 100lbs, and dynamic load ratings of 90lbs.

@@larrykoob507 ... thank you very much, the website says it's a german family business, and if they are made in germany, I think I'm going to change to them.. right now I'm using Blum's... also in my shop, I'm using Festool for my sanders.. another german company..

@@JuanPerez-ek8wd I think you will like the Quadro 4D. Two things I especially like are the tilt device for the back of the drawer box and the spring loaded hook.

Larry, I see you used two fronts. One is visible and beautiful (dark brown) and other is hidden inside the drawer (part of the drawer box, yellow color). Do we really need two fronts or can we use only one (dark brown)? Check this at video time 7:04.
    Thanks for the explanation!

    • @WoodworkersHardware
      @WoodworkersHardware  Před 22 dny

      Hello,
It is common on overlay drawers and inset drawers for there to be a decorative drawer front attached to a four-sided drawer box (this would be the dark brown one you see).
In the instance where the application is for roll-out drawers (example: drawers behind doors as in the case of a pantry), just the four-sided drawer box would be appropriate (the yellow front you see).

These are great drawer guides but so frustrating to find exact measurements for building the proper size drawer boxes. Using mm and having to convert everything is so annoying. Every time I use these for building cabinets, I spend more time digging on their website and on line looking for what I need. Their website is formatted in such a confusing and frustrating way that I want to give up on this product all together.

It is normal for it to be a little difficult to open. You are loading the soft close mechanism.
