I bouth a merirell it got Vibram on the side the first one i bought many years ago never gave trouble but then I bought a new pair not long the plastic on the side all cracked utter rubbish for such an expensive shoe. I dont think the first one had black plastic on the side it was rubber as it lasted for many years
Merrell! They sure know how to make just about the ugliest shoes in the market, with very few exceptions! The old Trail Glove 4 used to be my favorites, but Merrell wouldn't have it of course, so they went and ruined it by making it look increasingly uglier with every ensuing iteration. Now it just looks like a duck's bill after a nuclear blast. Just awful! A perfect example of "If it ain't broke, go ahead and stomp all over it!"
