      The fact that Hurricane was super guilty in real life sort of puts a damper on the movie and the Bob Dylan song. They made another guilty killer into a "victim" but Ruben actually did do the triple homicide. Guy was searching alongside OJ Simpson for "the real killer" laughing all the way to the bank. The real Hurricane Carter was a homicidal sociopath who was set free by one of the craziest far-left activist judges in the history of the United States. Victims of the murder literally protested and helped ensure that the film didn't win a bunch of awards for glorifying guilty killers.

      @CoolhandLukeSkywalkr Před 9 měsíci

      @@tishaw.8254 It was a left-wing activist judge who set Hurricane Carter free based on an arbitrary whim. The lunatic judge erroneously decided that the first two trials had been "racist," and he set Hurricane loose, largely based on the opinion he got by being influenced from celebrities including Muhammad Ali and Bob Dylan. There's a lot of evidence that they were guilty. Eyewitnesses who passed lie detector tests. The facts of the case are open and shut. Hurricane Carter and Artis didn't have matching stories when questioned by police hours after the shootings. They took lie tests, which they both flunked. On top of that, the pistol bullets used were an odd caliber.. .32ACP caliber pistol bullets. Not even a top ten caliber pistol bullet at the time of the shooting. Quite unusual caliber. Yet, Hurricane had been known to have owned a similar pistol and shotgun as used in the shootings. He had claimed his guns had been stolen about a week before the shootings. It's not a believable story. On top of that, they were driving the getaway car, the White Dodge Polara seen speeding away from the murder by four different eyewitnesses. In the Dodge Polara, police found. 32 caliber pistol bullets strewn all over the floor of their vehicle. In the trunk, underneath some of Hurricane's boxing gear, they found unspent shotgun shells. The exact same types of bullets used in the triple homicide. That's just some of the evidence against them. Hurricane Carter claimed in an interview years after he was set free that there were no dead bodies. That police faked three dead bodies just to frame him. You have to be a cultural Marxist hard-left activist type to actually think they might have been innocent. Celebrities who take up a murderer as a cause have a terrible track record. Every time celebrities come in after a conviction and claim it is an unfair case, those celebrities are always being manipulated. It was a case where Black men killed white victims. For whatever reason, those specific cases always get a lot of people supporting the killer and demanding he be set free. Check the record of cases. When a Black man murders white victims, there is always a "justice for them" campaign on the left. These campaigns have varying levels of success. Sometimes, they get killers set loose. Sometimes, they save killers from being put to death. If a Black man murders Black victims, nobody supports them. But if the killer is Black and the victims are white, the killer will automatically start out with millions of left-wing activists who support his cause.

    • @CoolhandLukeSkywalkr
      @CoolhandLukeSkywalkr Před 9 měsíci

      @@tishaw.8254 The same reason why left-wing activists support Hamas terrorists and remember Bin Laden fondly is the exact same reason they support guilty killers like Hurricane Carter. They think of Hurricane as the victim, not the people he murdered in a hate crime thrill killing. They think of Hamas as the victims, not the 1200 jews they murdered. Jews are white, and Arabs are brown. Therefore, Hamas has millions of supporters as soon as they start killing white people. You see leftwing activists praising Hamas. The same exact people whose parents and grandparents demanded Hurricane be set free. As far as the first two trials, they weren't racist and the evidence against them is overwhelming and very convincing. Police always maintained the guilt of Hurricane, as did all of his victims and their family members, and the eyewitnesses like Patty Valentine. Most of those people spend their lives afraid to death that Hurricane was going to come after them again. He was known for intimidating witnesses. He was physically threatening. He beat a bail bonds woman half to death. Her son found her and saved her life. Hurricane almost murdered her. It was between his 1st and 2nd trials. She survived and refused to press charges. Back then, it meant police didn't pursue it any further than that. Do you know why he beat that Black bail bond woman who was helping him? Because she was involved with paying his hotel bills, and I guess she asked him about the money and he beat her up so badly, she had to be hospitalized. He was a career criminal who had also beaten and robbed people. He had stabbed people before. Hurricane Carter was a career offender.

      @@tishaw.8254 Hurricane Carter wrote a bogus book while in prison for murder. A few celebrities and criminal justice types read his bs book and became instantly brainwashed and fell under the spell of Hurricane. Like being mesmerized by Charlie Manson. Once Bob Dylan read the book, he believed everything Hurricane Carter claimed, and he took all of it at face value. So did Muhammad Ali and other left-wing activist celebrities. Most people wouldn't automatically believe convicted murderers who claim, "I was framed." But progressive Democrats and Socialists tend to automatically accept those sorts of claims at face value. Then, they go to work on behalf of the criminals. In the case of Hurricane, such interference led to him being set loose. The judge who set Hurricane Carter loose was such a ridiculous problem that he eventually resigned in shame. He was a Jimmy Carter / Bill Clinton judge. He was a wacky leftwing activist who always felt more sympathy for killers than victims. He remained lifelong friends with Hurricane, after he set the killer loose. So he had a conflict of interest, since the judge set him loose for the notoriety it would gain him, then he had developed a bizarre friendship with Hurricane immediately after setting him free, something clearly wrong and highly unethical.
