Plus Wembanyama scored 30 pts in the 1st half and didn’t play in the 2nd. I’m in the EXTREME minority here, but I think he’s the best player in the NBA right now period. Despite not being named an All-Star. Lastly, we can’t overlook his minutes restriction. Dude is Next👽
He was scoring very inefficiently in his first few months and that factors into his chances for all-star selection even if he is at an all-star level now.
The method Pop used to handle Wemby is a masterpiece. He waited for 20 games before transitioning him to the center position, allowing Wemby the time to grasp the game and develop some muscle. It's the perfect strategy for injury prevention.
People are also looking to shallowly at the Sochan PG experiment.. I don't think anyone thought he'd ever become a Point Guard.. But after 20 games (in a season we weren't going to win tons anyways) we have a Sochan who is more confident making the types of passes that are needed to really be special in this league. People love 'the beautiful game' but you have to build up the passing and court awareness skills in your players to get that sort of result (OR bring in a ton of vets who are already good at that.. )
He’s not unstoppable. He’s a raw talent. He needs some better role players and some polish on his game. I’m just a middle aged stickler but I’m not impressed with stats that don’t translate to wins. I love watching him play though. Especially the game where him and Chet were fighting it out.
why does everyone keeps saying embid got 70 points on him, he allowed 16 points , thats it, not the full 70

@@viewfinder1030 I believe we can all agree he’s on the right path , his 3pt attempts look a lot nicer lately
Even if he was guarding him the full game embid is over 300 pounds and Wemby barely 200 and is a rookie so I think Wemby did a good job
@@viewfinder1030I join this minority

Embid dropped 16 on Wemby not 70
7'4" wing. OMG
His 3pt stat has been improving and last 5 games he is >50%
