1. Structure notes: write a contents page, subject
2. Use symbols to make notes neater
3. Write whole sentences in your notes
4. Don't just copy and paste the powerpoint - make sure to add your own notes
5. Write things that are important (if professor emphasises it, new material not in textbooks) - make sure to summarise long examples
6. Use separate highlighter for anything exam related
7. Make notes look pretty - use one colour in different shades, add sticky notes of same colour, create pretty header

Try writing slower and practicing a little bit more.
Trying to make each letter a bit more consistent helped me make my writing a bit better.

When I start reading textbooks and having to take notes, I eventual just see myself rewriting the whole textbook cuz everything seems important. Ahhhh. And when I don't write some stuff down, they show up one quizzes.

@@andily565 well one of my teacher doesn't like me using pens because it can smear really easily (at least the cheap ones do and let's get real none of us have fancy pens during school while in highschool/college because you stop caring) and also because you can't erase mistakes and it looks sloppy that way. It may be different for other teachers but those are the reasons for mine :)

I personally find studying with whole sentences way more exhausting - as there is way more data-input that has to be filtered out.

It depends - you should write in short and concise sentences rather than just unnecessary things
@@dangsteezy Yes, the sentence should be just long enough to express the whole idea. 2 or 3 words only wont help during review.
If you're able to abbreviate those filter words, do it. It helps you study faster and write quickly :) Also, flashcards

Yes Rose...I agree with you on using a separate colour pen or a highlighter for anything and everything important for the exam..I personally use a magenta coloured pen for all my grade 12th board exam important questions..❤️❤️

Writing notes in good handwriting only makes it beautiful but not productive for us. If you just write your notes in “I don't care” handwriting, it will be more efficient. Because it compels us to read the notes more thoroughly. If it's in good handwriting it's similar to textbooks. So try like this for one time. It worked for me, so I just wanted to share with you guys too ☺️

i find tghis informative piece of knowledge quite adequate in my endeavors to pursue note taking full time. This video singlehandedly supported my mother through time of crisis and reimbursed me of stage 4 cancer. My father recently re-owned me and now i am a full fledged doctorate.

Thank you so much for the video, I'm also a law student. One thing my professor told me was to write notes in a plain paper instead of ruled paper, that is because, once you start writing in plain papers, your handwriting not just improves, but also you learn to write straight without the lines. It also helps, because we can use them according to our wishes, as in dividing it the way we want, add the line space etc. This is something I wanted to add. I love your videos and have been religiously watching them so I thought I'd comment for the first time :)

This video is very helpful as well as satisfying/aesthetically pleasing! I have one question though: how do you decide if you will use a highlighter or underline with a pen to emphasize information in your notes? I noticed you used both and I am curious! (Others feel free to respond as well)
I think she uses both in order to priorityze in some way. You see if you only use highlights for everythnig that's important it might become distracting for the eyes and sometimes you might want to highlight something important but less important than the other things. So by underlining it helps to make a difference and still have everything that is also important but less important then the highlighted things.
PS : It also seems like in her notes she uses highlights for title more than for content

Something to consider - when you say it is easier to read full sentences than to for your brain to fill in the gaps, you are correct. However, brain science shows that learning actually happens in the struggle. If it's too easy, it's also too easy to gloss over.
