Why are you comparing the standard pixel 9 vs a pro iphone? This seems like the only comparison that doesnt make sense. No one is buying the standard pixel coming from a pro iphone.
Well... it's because it's the only Pixel 9 device Google sent me. I can't compare other phones yet since they don't go on sale until tomorrow. As for the cameras, the main and ultrawide on the back are exactly the same on the pixel 9 and the Pixel 9 Pro, so the results should be identical. Also, the inferior 10.5MP camera on the Pixel 9 seems to run circles aroudn the iphone 15 Pro Max's selfie camera.
Well, as far as this video goes, the Pixel 9 doesn't have the 5x telephoto lens that the Pixel 9 Pro has. The 5x will have better results than the iPhone

All comes down to that 5x telephoto. If it's important to you, then you should get it. Also, the product models come with Gemini advanced which is typically $20 per month.
My problem is, I always wanna have the higher end models for the extra features. But after getting say a pro model I realize I could've done the same thing with the base models since i usually don't use the pro features anyway. :/
The pixel 9pro comes in 3 sizes this year, the 9, 9pro and 9pro XL, the pro is basically the same as the 9pro XL just in smaller size (same size as the base 9). The differences btwn the 9pro and 9pro XL is the screen size and battery.
I give the 15 Pro the edge. The Pixel is a bit too processed and I don’t think they will tone down the aggressive HDR. Picture should be true to life and not something with filters. But the selfie and the ultra wide is better.
The Pixel 9 did an absolutely amazing job going up against the 15 Pro Max! And I also agree with you about the Pixel 9 selfie camera being better! Imagine the Pixel 9 Pro XL selfie camera. No chance Apple! I do think however that the 16 Pro Max will beat the Pixel 9 Pro XL! Let's see. Great video!👍🏼

My biggest gripe with Pixel selfies is the delaaaayed shutter lag when taking night time selfies with/without the Flash. @Nick, you mind testing that on your upcoming Pro vs. Pro camera comparisons? I was happy to see it. I'm trying to decide between the Pro and the regular 9 and it was good to see how the regular 9 compared to what a lot of people say is the "best camera" on a cell phone. I now think I don't need to buy the 9 pro just for the camera.
It's interesting, under certain lighting conditions I'd have to give it to the iPhone, no questions asked, but under other conditions it's a toss up. But at night though, that's 100% Google's territory. Both photos and videos look way more natural!
Apart from the video selfie and obviously the zoom, honestly, for everything else, and even in video, the Pixel 9 is better than the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
Not to mention on pixel you can adjust your sliders right in the camera for things like highlights and shadows etc im tempted with the pro model but my concerns with pixel are in other areas, like software and battery.
The reworked image processing pipeline works well, catching up iPhone video quality and even better is some circumstances! looking forward to p10 next year with much more powerful TSMC G5
While the phones aren't aligned in model range good review still. It would be fair to say the 9 would certainly be better than the aligned base iPhone 15?

I think iphone is much better in hdr because of its natural tone but pixel over sharpens the scenario like samsung which looks like some AI stuff. If you agree than reply me?
But nobody mentioned how good & smooth is the video (even with zoom) of pixel compared to iPhone 15 pro max which has higher cam specs than base pixel. Its outstanding quality
A bit odd comparing the bog standard Pixel to the Pro tier iPhone. Would have made more sense to compare the standard iPhone 15 to the Pixel 9. Feels a bit dishonest. I guess you should next compare the 9 Pro XL against the standard iPhone 15 then 🙃
Apple used to be good spec phone, but google came up now they both are equal in quality. I prefer good quality photos and always a fan of apple phones. But in recent years, I have been getting a dozen spam calls a day. Usually those spam call centers has their phones in the same series, so it is easy to blcok the entire series of phone numbers in Android True Caller app. But in apple , we have no such option to block entire series. This is one reason , I switched to android, now I am able to block all those spammers & sleep well. APPLE you should learn the actual need of people, not just same boring features...

I just wish Google would add PAL settings. I like to use my phone with my camera that is set to PAL. Apple has had this for a few years now. I think my Pixel 6 will be my last pixel as I also need airdrop and android transfer is terrible with my MacBook
Ok is it just me or does the colors on the pixel looked washed out/muted!!! also that pararamic shot trest!! the colors did look good on it compared to the iphone, but the iphone did a better job on stitching the pics together! Did you see the huge misalignment on the rail of the parking area!

Please do outdoor displaytest in sunshine. This 2 phones get useless after 5 min dimming so you cant see anything on the display.
