  • In this video I unbox and review the "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" action figures from 2001 by Playing Mantis. These figures are based on the 1964 stop-motion animation Christmas classic "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" by Rankin-Bass, one of the masters and pioneers of stop-motion animation. Arthur Rankin and Jules Bass were known during the 60s and 70s for making some of the most memorable Christmas Specials of all time. Some of their most famous specials include "The Little Drummer Boy" (1965), "Frosty the Snowman" (1969), "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" (1970), "The Year Without a Santa Claus" (1974), "Jack Frost" (1979), and so many more.
    The characters included here are:
► Rudolph (with Dolly from the Island of Misfit Toys)
► Clarice (with woodland forest animals)
    ► Hermey the Elf
► Santa Claus (with the Spotted Elephant)
    ► Sam the Snowman
    ► Yukon Cornelius
► The Abominable Snow Monster (The Bumble)

The hats are all tricky to get to stay on because they’re sculpted to fit perfectly in just one spot, its possible you just need to know how to do it

These are great figures, I've noticed when looking for some online that Yukon always seems to have color issues with green/blue. I just got the Bumble for now as they can be pretty expensive nowadays

Yeah, I just hate it when figures have cheap plastic that causes issues no matter how well you take care of them. Check out my video where I unboxed the Wizard of Oz figures from 1989… the witch just broke in the middle of the video. Her plastic was so deteriorated!

@@ThePopComplex Yes, several of the Yukon figures and even some Bumbles I looked at this week were sealed in pakage with Yukon's arms and/or chest being noticably green like you showed, and just the botttom row of Bumble's teeth were yellow! Darn shame, they're great otherwise. I wonder if a repaint would last... going to check out the Oz video

Mantis is a reindeer with a slug behind it.
