In this video, Shaun Wassell explains what JavaScript is, how JavaScript is used, and how JavaScript can play an important part in modern application development. JavaScript is no longer restricted just to interactive websites. Let’s learn why.
Did you know that JavaScript was given its name to resemble Java so it could appear to have more credibility? It’s ironic that JavaScript has since become one of the most widely used programming languages while Java has faced countless security issues and is no longer held in high regard.
JavaScript started its life to make websites interactive. JavaScript wasn’t very useful early on. It was mostly limited to making DOM updates on websites without needing to reload the website from scratch.
JavaScript has since become a beast of a programming language. It’s used to not only make interactive websites but also desktop applications and even video games. This success might largely be credited to such tools as Node and Proton, though.
Node is a tool that uses the V8 JavaScript interpreter to run JavaScript code native to an OS much like C++ or Java. Proton is another framework like Node but is used specifically for packaging desktop applications.
JavaScript has proven to be such a success that software engineers continue to innovate with it. For example, a project called Bun was recently released that hopes to upend Node’s popularity by offering an order of magnitude more performance while addressing some of the pitfalls of Node. Other JavaScript frameworks used to build single-page application websites are becoming more mature - making them the defacto standard architecture for new web-based projects.
This is all to say that as an IT professional you need to understand how JavaScript works. So, watch this video and start learning!

You've probably got your answer by now but just in case you haven't:
Learn html and css first, and then javascript can be integrated into it far easier

The subjugation of mankind. The creator of Javascript actually apologized to the world in a tweet for his role in its implementation.
