    With a D30 front it must have been a 266 V8. With the new 4.8 LS you likely saved over 250 lbs. And now with power steering you will need to drive to the gym to work out! Awesome!!

    I can't wait until I can get a scout like this from you guys! My current scout is no where as nice as what you guys can do.

    This just came across my feed and its 3yrs old. But im glad it did!! That is absolutely a beautiful Scout!! I have a 70 Scout 800A series, 3 sp, with a slanted 4 motor. Would love to put a little bigger motor in it but i dont want anything with a computer chip in it. I did convert it to power steering for easier off roading. Mine had 33 12.5 tires on it when i bought it. It now has 35s. Had to cut the fender wells out a little when it had the wide tires on it. Mine does have some rust in the bed and i would love to fix mine up more if i had the extra money to do so. I just never wanted to fix it too nice because then i wouldnt want to off road in it like i do. It still has the drum breaks and i would love to switch to disc. Also the wiper blades quit working on it and when they did work, the faster you would drive, the faster they went swish. If you slowed down, they did too. But i love my old tank and i taught my son how to drive a stick shift in her. Having that slanted 4 tho, she does lug down going up hills on the highway but when you're off roading in 4wd she will crawl right up steep hills and embankments! And she'll pull your butt out of anything! Have pulled several jeeps and even a suburban out of mud with her! I love my Scout!!

    Thanks for sharing. What a great build!
    Quick question - was the roll cage purchased from a 3rd party or done in-house? Most of the roll cages for the 800's that I find online are either over the top obtrusive or too small.

    Which scout between 800 and scout ii is harder to modify? I have ability to get a hold of both body type. And which is actually lighter. I want to fix one up for myself, or have you do a few very speacal mods to my knowledge hasn't been done to a scout. Who do I need to talk to for this prodject?

    Help me with my 67 Scout! It's all original. Was previously rebuilt but then never got driven. Finally got passed down to me and I have sank about 10G's into and it still has startup problems. Original engine, stock everything. Great condition though and i can get it to run. I did change to disk brakes in the front with all new brakes both front/back. 2 poly tanks. However, it's hard to gas up because the travel for the nozel has to be so deep. How did you get around that?

    Where do you guys get the Indian Blankets for the door panels?..(I seen it in one of your other videos with the Scout II headliner). Thanks.

    • @They_Live_While_We_Sleep
      @They_Live_While_We_Sleep Před 3 lety

      It’s pretty much how you’re picturing it’s done. With a little craftsmanship & ingenuity.
      •cut actual Indian blanket down to panel size
      •use a fabric glue, adhering it to a reinforced backing
      •fix the blanket/board to the panel as you would any interior piece. Then...
      •Voilá. C'est fait!

    • @edriley1516
      @edriley1516 Před 3 lety

      @@They_Live_While_We_Sleep Hey thanks but my question was "where" do you get the blankets? I've searched all the local online places including eBay and can't seem to find one is both long and wide enough even with trimming....(for headliner, not door panels).

  • @blueduster74

    There’s nothing wrong with modern drivetrain in our old rigs. I did a 360 magnum/NV4500/Dana300 in my 79 Ramcharger 14 yrs ago. It’s carbed because efi was not easy back then. Now with Mopar and Holley among others offering ECUs for the 09-newer Hemi I’ll be making that switch next year.
