  • Here I visit Truganini Lookout on Bruny Island, which is a 50km long island and is a 362-square-kilometre (140 sq mi) in size, and really close to the island state of Tasmania. Although its very close to the mainland of Tasmania (Possibly 3 or 4 km) there is no Bridge between them, so a regular Car Ferry Service runs between Kettering on Tasmania and Roberts Point on Bruny Island.
    Truganini Lookout is on Bruny Island right between the two halves of the Island called North Bruny and South Bruny, where a thin strip of land connects them. It's just on the edge of North Bruny, and it has some amazing views up there.
    Truganini, also known as Lallah Rookh (c. 1812 - 8 May 1876) was an Aboriginal Tasmanian woman, who was an important person in Aboriginal history in Australia, who had aided the resettlement on Flinders Island, among many other things that she did in her life.
