This cutscene animation cinematics is taken from Xianyun's (Cloud Retainer) Story Quest titled "A Thousand Moonlit Miles" or Grus Serena Chapter: Act 1 where Aether reunites or meets Lumine in a dream after using an Adeptal mechanism with Shuyu. In the dream, the two siblings hugged each other, walked on the beach, lay on the grass, ate some great dishes, and did some other special stuff that most siblings do. Recorded in HD quality and English VA, this clip reveals what the Traveler holds the most dear in his heart, as what Xianyun expressed while talking to him.

The main goal has already changed since the traveler met the twin last time. The twin stated that the traveler needed to "Travel all over Teyvat to seek answers and see what the true nature of this world is." In the end, perhaps the traveler will understand the twin's actions. It's no longer about finding the sibling again because the traveler has already located the twin.

Fr Genshin needs to give the Traveller more speaking roles. I was so happy I got like three lines of dialogue from the Traveller. Which speaks more to how deprived I am of the character’s voice.

At how much the traveler suffered and did for the others(at the start of the archon quest not believing she was alive to the end of the sumeru archon quest even losing their hope to get any information), I am so happy he at least saw her in his dream, and I hope that we will meet her again soon
In "We will be reunited" traveler already knew where their sibling at, since they said they will eventually meet in the end of their journey which became new goal. No need to dramatize it so much, especially the Sumeru part.

@@killsthelight5511 but if you pick the dialogue options for the because ether says, I do not agree with my sister methods what he means is that she’s going to put teyvat in danger in exchange for restoring her homeland meaning she’s doing bad things and then by the time we get to natlan , she completely different as she turned into let’s put it that way fell dragon Grima pretty much the alpha ceph from crysis 3 not only she controls the abyss monsters at will, but also command them and her dragon form is hideous.

The Traveler actually finally had a conversation, even if a brief one, with someone in a cutscene since 1.0. This is truly the best Lantern Rite update
Eventhough the story was incredible, nobody cares that and still considering this patch as the worst lantern rite/cny themed patch ever because of freemogems/free pulls lackluster 🗿

have to admit, as a 33 year old who plays Genshin since start, seeing them reunite (even if its a dream) made me shed a tear, simply atounding!
I feel like I'm only getting more and more sensitive to these things as time goes on. I used to be rather stoic and never cried. Now, I find myself tearing up at the slightest things. Strange, I thought it to be the opposite when growing up.
This hurts me so much as an Aether main.

Seeing this makes me cry. I lost my grandmother on 23th of June 2023 bc she got pneumonia. I wasn't even able to see her in her last moments and when I saw her again she was lifeless and laying in a coffin. Since then, I'm very sensitive to scenes like this. I wish I could reunite with my grandmother again. I have so many things to tell her.

I wonder if there’s anything to be said about the fact that when the Traveler dreams of their sibling, they don’t dream of meeting up and flying off, but seeing Teyvat together and enjoying all the world has to offer. Idk, might be telling for the future.
Also Xianyun is so unfathomably *mother* and it’s amazing
If anything with how close they seem to be I would think they would be willing to explore the land again but this time they have their sibling with them.
It’s like watching a movie you’ve already seen with someone you care about: you know all the beats, the twists and turns but the experience with that person makes it different.

This is the first cutscene that had me cry in genshin for the first time.
This was the most impactful scene for me, it made sense why aether was crying in the trailer. And I love how it shows how much they miss each other, hope they meet in the end
So cute... Lumine has little sister vibes, too 🥺 gotta love the way she jumped into his arms and he picked her up and twirled her + her showing him the little kite happily, and the way she looks to him during the campfire scene... Adorable.

I'm most satisfied with this Story quest, with Granny that will become an adeptus again in due time and the little girl becoming one too
As soon as one of her disciples grows up, she immediately gets another one. I’ve never seen a tsundere milf and I never imagine it would be a viable combination but they really made it work with Cloud Retainer.
I hope we get more Shuyu content. She appears to be the same age as Yaoyao, so who knows. Could be as soon as this Chinese new years but maybe that’s overly optimistic?

Well, you’re kind of lucky to have a brother. I’ll admit, I probably missed a lot of stress because of this, but I was only ever the only descendant of my mother, and I’ve never had siblings, so I don’t even know what it’s like. Treasure the things that you have every day, no matter how annoying or insufficient they seem.
This may not be one of the action-packed scenes, but this in my humble opinion is the best cutscene we have ever had in Genshin Impact

I've been playing Genshin since 3.0 and this is the first cutscene that made me cry. I'm not a very emotional person when it comes to this stuff so the fact it made me cry shows how both sad and heart warming it is.

the combination of Xianyun's release, New region, amazing world quests and story quest makes the update one of my favorite update

I saw the Lumine version, both versions got the same amount of good emotion from both Zack and Sarah. But I do like Sarah's version of the lines more.

I think the traveler really needed it. All this time putting his life in danger, discovering many trues really touched him but he not really showing it. Even if he get new friends along the way. This dream with his sister really is what he needed.
Sadly it was just a dream.

This is one of the most beutiful cutscenes
2:30 the tone is very reminiscent of the 3.4 Lantern Rite cutscene where Cloud Retainer shared her past with the other adepti and Guizhong, which made me cry harder in the scene. As she can't see Guizhong anymore, she said that one day, the Traveler can be with the sibling.

Going to be completely honest, I’ve never cried during a cutscene or at any game at all. But this cutscene was so moving to me I cried. It’s so beautiful. The music is beautiful. I long for the twins to be reunited at last.
Now she's the real mommy, best mommy and kinda tsundere mommy 😅
To my headcanon I will always view cloud retainer as the best therapist and motherly figure to traveler.
So this was the first time playing this game that i started balling. I've had a tear or two before, but this was just a beautiful scene. The music, the lighting, the voice acting, the animation, literally everything.
