    MOBSTERS: We wanted to control the order of things.
    RA'S: I wanted to rebuild the order of things.
    SCARECROW: I wanted to experiment with fear.
    BATMAN: I wanted to save people from themselves.
    HARVEY TWO-FACE: I wanted to restore fairness where it was taken from me.
    TALIA: I wanted to complete my father's crusade.
    BANE: I wanted to avenge her father.
    JOKER: I just want to watch the world burn. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

    I love the Joker theme at the last minute of this video that plays when the Joker is breaking Harvey Dent in the hospital. It really captures the feeling of someone who is giving up everything he or she stood for and is about to fall into utter nihilism.

    For a villian, Ra's theme is so beautiful.There is a hint of menance but an overriding sadness at its core that tells the listener all a lot about this person, a haunting piece for a haunted man

  • @Silrian777

    My more psychological interpretation:
    Mob: because we were/feel poor
    Scarecrow: because I'm afraid myself
    Ra's: because my great love was taken from me.
    Talia: because my father was taken from me
    Bane: because I come from hell
    Two-Face: because the world is unfair
    Joker: because life is meaningless
    All except Joker desire some sort of power. The Joker desires nothing but torment. That's why the Joker sticks out imo. He's the embodiment of not taking anything seriously, he's emptiness.

      Silrian777 for Two face life is even more meaningless than Joker,while Joker plays life and enjoy Anarchy or better say chaos,Two face Enjoys nothing and leaved everything to chance.

    I love how you put them in chronological order...and ending it with the Joker being the Last Inmate of Arkham Asylum (from the novelisation). Love that! Would be cool if there was a post-credit scene where we see the Joker (from behind) sitting in a chair alone at Arkham. But I guess that would ruin the finality of TDKR

  • @Silrian777
    @Silrian777  Před 11 lety +1

    It seemed to fit. Alo because Scarecrow's weapon is people's own fear. Scarecrow barely had a real theme so I opted to use his "weapon's" theme as well. And Chill is in a way the villain that starts it all, so I though it was just to throw him in as an easter egg of sorts.
    Thank you for checking it out.:)

    And YES that would've been a great post credit seen, actually quite possible I think even with Heath's passing. And I don't think it'd ruin the film. Bruce Wayne's story would still be concluded. Anyway, exactly what I wanted to project with the ending of this track, thanks for picking it up!

    I understand your point. But I have a valid defense imo: that track is mostly a Batman theme and only using the intro seemed to nullify it's power. I love that track too, it's in the Batman suite and is actually the only TDK OST track I used in that mix. As you can see, this track has a substantially larger TDK part to it, mainly because TDK is so enormously villain-centric in it's material.
    I was kinda surprised how relatively mellow this track was though.

  • @Silrian777
    @Silrian777  Před 11 lety +1

    I understand and that's obviously where I would've put it. I just felt Harvey's tragedy flowed so well into the all out blackness of Bane, especially because Bane actively builds upon what Harvey did. Also, I could add Harvey's heroic aspect with the piano, it fit into his descent musically. Selina's heroic aspects didn't imo.
    Sorry for making the choice you didn't prefer, glad you still like it.:)

  • @Silrian777
    @Silrian777  Před 11 lety

    Good point, but no I wouldn't say so (admirable but mistaken, lol). That's because imo Ra's Al Ghul was already Ra's before he got Bane and Talia out of the pit. In TDKR Talia says "He took us in the league and trained us." Which implies he's already in/with the League of Shadows (probably because his wife had been taken). In this case I see the pit as a shared theme for Talia and Bane especially, so I'd say Ra's is still the first villain, then he finds "two more" in this pit prison.
    Dankje.;)

    Note: the reason I didn't include Selina Kyle's music is because firstly I think she doesn't belong in this roster like the others (technically she isn't even catwoman). For that same reason I didn't include JNH's Harvey piece, because Harvey's heroic side isn't a villain theme either. Secondly because when I was done I saw now good way to include any of her music in between, imo the themes progress pretty much naturally from one to the other this way. So yes, I would've minded if she cut in.

    I know. That;'s because imo she isn't a villain. She's a rogue, she's a criminal, but she's not thematically the villain the other six are imo. She's a Dark Knight too (she only steals from rich people and tries to help out others in that way) that rises, like, and with, Bruce.
    She didn't belong in the musical madness of this piece imo.

    No, I did not, because I don't consider her to be a real villain in the film. Talia imo is the true sixth villain. It's clear throughout the film that Selina has no strong villainous intentions, but simply has one point at which she chooses herself over Batman. She's no hero, but she's not a real villain either. (She's not good, nor bad, but ugly. Though purely figuratively.)

    What I wonder is whether Nolan would've used him, had it been possible. I think we might actually have been even more disappointed, Nolan doesn't cash in on that stuff and the Joker barely serves any plot progression after the conclusion of TDK. But it would've been much more awesome if he was referenced like he is in the novelization as being the last inmate of AA. Which coincidentally is imo a brilliant alias for the Joker.
    This debate an awful entwining of fiction and real life events.

    Not in the same way, no. There's no depth to it, only horror and a perverse sense of awe. But the Joker is empty, devoid of sense, he's chaos. Harvey however is still very much human, but destroyed in a way I think would render most people insane. Of all characters Nolan created, Bruce (of course) and Harvey are the two I connect most to. But I've always found 2face (and Freeze) to be B's most touching villains.

    Hello, fellow CZcamsrs, I have a task for you. In honor of this Villains Suite, I have created Teams for the 5 major villains in the Trilogy: Ra's, Scarecrow, Joker, Two-face, and Bane. Please respond and tell me whose team you choose and why. BTW, I am Team Ra's.

      I too am team Ra's. I like all the villains especially in the comics, but as for the movies Ra's is the most epic, though Heath's performance is undoubtedly the best.

    I kind of wish that 20:04 would transition into what the Dark Knight Rises Nokia Trailer did, I don't know I just feel that the music that they used in the trailer was under used. At 1:20 /watch?v=5OyIShfT7kc
