@@jk7878 hehehehe! Yeah, in that case, it a bad recommendation, really bad. He was hooking up a fellow Scott. 🏴
I think everyone looks at Jobs through rose tinted glasses since he has passed away.
Albin true, although he released many innovative products which are the apple watch and the air pods
@Albin the thing is true innovation takes time. An innovation which is rushed is often met with failure or a 'gimmick' standards. Steve jobs didn't release revolutionary products everyday. It took him time and effort. The iphone was launched nearly a decade after ipod and the ipod was launched more than a decade after the macintosh. None of those revolutionary products were built overnights. Its the same in tim cook's case. It takes time to build the next revolutionary product so until then apple will keep selling iphones as its main income source
People seem to forget that Jobs released the iPhone 4 with the flawed antenna and then tried to tell users that they were all holding it wrong!
I think people often get the stylus thing wrong as well. They’ll say stuff like “Steve would hate the Apple Pencil” or that he would be rolling in his grave but the thing is Steve made it clear that he disliked styluses as the main method of interacting with your smartphone but never said anything about using them on tablets as a secondary interaction method for specific tasks such as writing and drawing.
The Apple Watch and AirPods was under Tim Cook so that’s something
And apple pencil basically saved the iPad from extinction. It's not like we should invalidate the apple pencil just because "StEvE jObS sAiD sTyLuSeS aRe DuMb". Steve jobs didn't like them for PHONES, specially not if the only thing you could do with them back in the day was just play some games and type emails. The apple pencil as the name suggests, is a tool for making art, it is accessible and works wonderfully. People started buying the tablet since it started becoming more of a "drawing tablet" or a "digital notebook", and apple pencil was one of the reasons this happened.
Tim Cook is underrated, Apple is a Trillion Dollar company partly becasue of his leadership!
"Steve Jobs was better!" You were probably not even using an Apple product back then when he existed.
I did and for real it can’t be compared, Tim’s apple will always be different from Steve’s, I’ve been using idevices and can’t find a comparison point, nor from hardware, less in software, and User experience, they’re just different, nor comparable
Been using iMacs since 98 when I was 3 (playing games with my dad) so yeah I'd say I used them through Job's stint 😂😂😂
Contrary to popular belief, I think Tim Cook has done an incredible job with Apple. Especially in the marketing department.
My favorite part of current apple is the consistency of style between devices, and the top tier marketing
Wdym contrary to popular belief? Tim Cook is doing a great job and everybody knows it whether they want to admit it or not
Srinivasan S I think he does a good job. But each year he is lower in the ranking of best CEOs and that’s worrying 😬
@@augustogalindo8687 is he really? This year he was the second highest paid CEO after Elon. Apple wouldn't do that unless they were convinced he's doing a great job.

So that i can defend myself when my relatives start a rant with me all mocking apple and me ( A huge fan for apple ( Apple Sheep ) ) always try to defend myself and you always help me
Don't call yourself apple sheeps yikes. Apple sheeps are those who are toxic towards other community and blindlessly support apple without knowing any facts.
snake killer not to mention, Android sheep exist. People are still calling the iPhone overpriced when the iPhone 11 is literally a lot cheaper than the S20 line, they complain about the SE’s design even though it’s a budget phone that will be supported for years, they complain about the addition of widgets being copied when both companies clearly copy each other and after clowning apple for not having them, defending the much slower exynos chip being sold in many countries, etc.
If you genuinely just enjoy apple, you’re not a sheep. I’ve used both and I just prefer the fluidity of iOS, the software support, the security, iMessage is useful for my needs, it goes extremely well with a mac (“the ecosystem”) apps generally support iOS first, I prefer the build quality and design of iPhones, Apple Music is great, and more
I always think: they just don’t know any better and are really missing out while using Android stuff and all that other junk. Just leave them living their fake dream 😁
Well said! I was hesitant about Tim Cook when he first took over Apple, but it’s like you said - he has made some fantastic choices over the course of his tenure, that have greatly benefited Apple both financially and technologically. Sure, some of his decisions may stand in stark contrast to the late and great Steve Jobs, but at the end of the day, he has always steered Apple and its products in the right direction.
Of course Jobs would be proud of Tim, Apple has huge bashers yearly but it didn't brought down apple, instead sales are getting better and better. Iphone Xr, Iphone 11 and Iphone SE were a great move! Not to mention that the Apple Watch and Ipad Pros has no close competitors. 🤷♂️
I think that the iPhone 7/8 body was stainless steel and it costed around 700$ and today , the iPhone 11 also costs around 700$ *but has a Aluminium body instead* if you want good quality stainless steel body , you would have to get the most expensive over 1000$ iPhone 11 Pro to get good build quality body (stainless steel).

I’ve been watching these videos for maybe two weeks now and these lead ins to the ads are so clean I don’t even mind them
If Steve Jobs would still alive, Apple would have a foldable phone long time ago for real. Tim Cook just make the same phones for long time with little bit of innovations between them
You have the smoothest transitions to sponsors imo lol 😂
Another point: During events like the introduction of a new iPhone, Tim would let the people that worked on certain parts of the iPhone present it (for example, the guy that was in charge of working on the chipset would talk about performance and the guy that was in charge of software development would talk about OS features and improvements), because he didn't want to make it seem like he takes full credit.
Things I believe Steve Jobs would hate on what today's Apple have done
1. iOS 7 and OS X Yosemite as Steve Jobs loved skeuomorphism.
2. 12" MacBook. Steve Jobs hated netbooks and guess what, the 12" MacBook is just Apple's expensive netbook.
3. The ditching of MagSafe.
4. Possibly iPhone X and so on as even Steve Wozniak doesn't seem to like it.
5. Apple pencil. Actually, Steve jobs did hate stylus although the stylus weren't wirelessly connected and the stylus powered products of what he imagined were quite different, so Steve jobs may like this product.
1. Scott Forstall, the original designer of iOS was the person that kept the skuemorphic look on iOS, jobs being alive or dead wouldn’t have changed iOS 7 happening if Scott forstall left or got fired, which he did.
2. Steve jobs did literally this with the original MacBook Air. In 2008 it missed the disc drive and came with only 3 ports, only one being a USB. That was 2008s version of our 12 inch MacBook.
3. Why wouldn’t Steve embrace a shared standard of a high speed and reversible cable?
4. Steve jobs and Wozniak have never shared the same ideas entirely
5. Jobs hated styluses on PHONES not tablets. He most likely would e manufactured a stylus for the iPad should he have not died.
Poor value, compromised features, unreliable technology…
It reminds me of the butterfly keyboard
Love this video! I’ve seen several backlash about Tim Cook’s leadership of Apple, and after watching both videos “Why Apple Failed to Deliver AirPower” and “Why Apple Gave Up On The Butterfly Keyboard,” this video acts as a follow up to these videos.
This video along with “The History of the iPhone Pricing” has made understand better behind the real reason for the original iPhone’s pricing.
Everyone’s opinions are different in regards to the decisions both CEOs made, but the reality is, both Jobs and Cook have had both successes and failures when leading Apple, and that’s that.
Seriously great content, time after time! Thank you!
Really great video! Makes a lot of sense!! Thank you for explaining it in detail.
Jobs would never give us 5~6 years of software update support.
He’s only given 3 years for the 2G and 3G. iOS 6 came out a year after Jobs died.
3 years for the 3GS
Jony made iOS 7. The iPhone 4 got 3 years.
The 4S got 4 years
The 5 got 4 years
The 5c got 3 years
The 6 got 4 years

i like how during the intro, he points out a specific comment just to subtly insult the creator, but not be too harsh
Such a great explanation and I agree with every bit of it! Such comments and ideas usually come from people who have never used an iPhone or other Apple products.
As an ex apple hater, I can confirm. The only reason I ever hated apple was because the internet always taught me that apple = bad. It was more of a trend that the "cool woke kids" used constantly to feel special, because they didn't fall "under the spell apple put on us". I dropped it because I realized, I didn't even use an apple product then, and all the explanations I had were "apple bad because blah blah people buy it for the logo on the back durr durr".
Well Steve's motto was _"Think Differently"_
Excellent video details!
always so insightful!
Finally, some good content
I think the design of today’s iOS 13 would still be the old look of iOS 6
iOS 6 looked very bloated with all the shadows and glowing effects. I rather have a more simple, glossy, and colorful product. Imagine if they used skeuomorphism in a screen as small as an apple watch 🤢🤮. The only modern way you can recreate old skeuomorphism without feeling ugly is neumorphism, but it's crazy hard to use for complicated/bloated apps
iOS 6 was my favorite design. I loved how it related more with real life. Definitely gives a different feel than all this flat design rubbish
David Konevky - the watch could’ve just had its own design rather than mimicking iOS. The skeuomorphic design of early iOS looked versatile and felt like it related more to real life and people. I can see how you see it as bloated, indeed compared to modern iOS but I think maybe that’s because the new iOS is completely flat, which is not very satisfying to me, as it seems bland due to too much uniformity. Like everything just seems to be the same look and on the same plane. I loved how iOS 6 related more to real world objects and felt like it wasn’t cut off from the natural world. But I guess people are disturbed or pleased not by things but by the view which they take of them
I’ve never thought of it that way, nor did I know about the carriers’ sneaky tactics like that. I never knew about the AirPower charging mat either, though I’m glad they canceled it now that I do know. In my opinion the quality is worth the price, though I am hoping for a 120hz display on the next Pro models along with a Touch ID sensor under the display for all models. Awesome video 👍
Steve would hate the Visual Pro. Apple needs needs to release a camera
When I used to think of Apple, it was all about future innovative technology, now it's like clones of things already done. They dont have the same nerd magic they used to have.
Also don’t forget about iOS 7. I’m pretty sure Steve would’ve not been too happy about that considering I would say the user experience was by far and away worse than any of the iOS versions before it. Maybe Tim wasn’t too far off hardware wise but software has been a different story. I believe if Steve was around iOS 7 and a few versions after it would’ve never seen the light of day.
Brilliant analysis, Greg!
Very eloquent and informed arguments made. Thanks man
I think Steve would see Tim's vision for Apple, and in a way approve of SOME changes but not all of them
More people need to be aware of confirmation bias. When you just look for the info proving your point you aren't getting the actual situation. This is what throws off a ton of arguments on the internet, including this one.
Steve jobs would hate it because tim cooks forcing people to get a new device instead of repairing
Great explanation. I think one of your best
Jobs instructed Cook to run the company the way he felt like and not to follow Jobs steps or something. And yeah, Jobs chose Cook as his successor so obviously Cook had something distinguished in him.
Btw for me Jobs is still the visionary because of the innovative products he launched back then ranging from iPhone, iPad, Macs and iPod which held 1000 songs and portable enough to go right into one's pocket back in 2001...even before I was born xD
I think iPhones would drive a little more innovation, after the 6, it seems apple doesn't set the standards for a phone like they used to
lol the iphone X SUCKS. i went back to the 8 plus after a few months. unfortunately, the 8 plus is STILL the last great iphone... new ones are overtly expensive and less useable.
Loved this explanation ❤❤
Really surprises me to hear that there are no carrier subsidies in the US. In Austria almost every contract has to be at least two years and you get a free or discounted phone every two years. If you want a contract with no two year plan you even gotta pay extra
Why can’t people just agree that Steve and Tim are both legends, both geniuses in their own different ways. The style of leadership is different, sure, but both have proved their worth by taking Apple to great heights. Personally, I like Steve Jobs more, but I also respect Tim Cook and admire him for building the world’s best supply chain.
I really love apple so much not bcz of only his elegance but yet bcz of steve job's struggle to drops this royal phone at this place . He was a legendary man . His story of struggling really motivates me so much . Love so much from India
is that background real or fake?
I agree with you. Despite the fact that I am not a big fan of Tim Cook, he has done a rather good job at the helm. Despite the fact that the prices have really risen, the technological capability of Apple devices has really exponentially improved. Premium and affordable devices still do not beat iPhones in performance, usability and satisfaction
Steve jobs included the charger, Tim Cook made you buy it additionally. I don’t think Steve would like the idea that people now buy a phone but it doesn’t come with a charger adaptor that you need.
I appreciate your insight and completely agree with you
Wow, this video was really well put together. Very strong points. Tim was hand picked by Steve for a reason.
Which Apple was more innovative, Steve Jobs or Tim Cool
well... it's about degrees and nuance that most people won't understand; but Cook, because Apple silicon making it's way to their macos computers, leapfrogging intel's schedule is something every computer manufacturer has had wet dreams about for decades. that said, for consumers - most would say jobs because they knew about the innovations with him as the Keynote speaker. Cook takes less credit, but is responsible for more. not to mention surpassing $1,000,000,000,000.00 (trillion)
Great video - well done.
What YOU think Steve Jobs would think of Tim Cook’s Apple.
There. Fixed it.
Interesting video. Tim Cook is actually a fantastic CEO, probably better than Jobs...However, Jobs was far more of a hands-on visionary. Both wanted to seek the highest profit for the Apple product line, but they have very different styles when doing this. Cook is captializing on Luxury Brand status, where as Jobs was focused on Beautiful Technology that Just Works. Apple is an interesting company that is at odds with itself at times. They make some of the most innovative, fantastic products in the world, there is no doubt about that. At times, their arrogance gets the better of them, however. Take the Pro Display XDR stand, or the Mac Pro Wheels - a pure flex move that worked against the company. Take the removal of the headphone jack - say what you will, but this was CLEARLY designed to drive sales of the newly created Airpods - it just so happened to work with the Apple mythos of 'simplifying' technology and 'driving the industry forward'. None of these were consumer friendly moves. On the other hand, look at the M Series of Apple Silicon chips - instead of reinventing the industry by removing yet another feature from their products in the the name of simplicity, Apple created something truly revolutionary. No company is perfect, and the world's largest tech company is bound to get a swollen head from time to time - bur right now, Apple is in an incredible position to right some of their past blunders and create some new products that are as revolutionary as the first iPod and iMac were. Their weakest point right now, in my opinion, is there software. Far too many bugs for a company as large as this - I would like to see them re-write some aspects of their software and stamp out the vast majority of gremlins. They also need to adjust their product line a bit - I don't think we really need four versions of the iPad, but I'd like to see a large screen laptop that is budget oriented, for example. Speaking of the iPad, there is little point in having a 'pro' version of this device if it really doesn't deliver anything that pro software wise. If Apple can address these flaws, and continue to innovate with their top to bottom control of their devices, they could conceivably capture even more market share and consumer good will. Sorry for the article, couldn't help myself.
Tim Cook also managed to make Apple the only tech company that can commit to a radical environmental protection philosophy while still making a great profit. Other companies like Samsung and Huawei can't commit to this because some of their businesses actually do tremendous harm to the environment, and if they stop or change these practices, they would lose so much profit.
What kind of crack are you smoking?
You really drank their kool-aid huh.
Nothing apple has done has benefited the environment.
That's all bs the foolish consumers buy up.
Ever since they stopped shipping headphones and chargers in the box the pollution hasn't decreased its increased.
Now in order to get new headphones or a a compatible charger brick they come in their own packaging and produce more waste than they did prior.
Keep believing that bullshit it's not about less waste it's all about more money.
You really believe that a giant tech company is environmental friendly? A lot of it is just green washing. czcams.com/video/rFwBUoDhOTg/video.htmlsi=lZd53X5_Qy8dDJBj
Steve Jobs created products you want. Tim Cook creates products you need.
People actually fail to appreciate the best innovation by Apple. Gesture navigation in iPhone. Android had the triple soft buttons since forever which took 10% of screen space. Removing bezels and soft keys meant innovating some sort of navigation.
Gesture navigation in early bezelless android was a sad story. Its only after iPhone's implementation that Google had the idea of using those gestures. After another failed improvisation to not replicate iPhone, Android settled for pretty much ditto.
Apple hit the nail on head on first attempt which others failed copying them
while i partially agree with most points made, things like the horrible butterfly Keyboard switches and their huge reliability issues or apples fight against independent repairs dont really go well with some of the points made
what is the background music?
A pure for-profit move though was removing the headphone jack from iphones. That hit me right in the crankies.
*WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO MY BRAND!?* *WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO MY BRAND!?* *AHHHHH-*
The way apple handled things in the past years actually brought me to using apple products.
I did not like apple under the jobs era.
Macbook 12" was my first apple computer and iphone x with it's face id, and the modernizing and opening of ios and ipad os (file manager etc.) was finally modern enough (compared to the crappy big bezels phones and ipads before) for me to consider changing to ios.
And don't forget the osx yosemite's and ios redesigns and abolisment of skeuomorphism in it's design.
Apple finally stopped being a total snob and started to be modern, exciting and innovative again, while still holding on to their ideals of design and user friendliness. They grew up.
the way you explain is just... uhh... lovable
Man, in every video this man figures out some kinda excuse for everything

Honestly, I don't really think you can try to imagine what Jobs would think, because people aren't hard cut like that. And since he's dead, we'll never know if he stayed the same or changed about certain things.
another point on this topic is that Jobs literally told Cook never to think "what would Steve do" but instead instructed him to lead the company how he saw fit.
That’s what I believe. Progress is made by the living, not the dead.
@@astraldirectrix Absolutely. People will die but companies sometimes live beyond their founder's death, and have to move on.
