- Special Hobby 1/72 scale Bf109E-3 Messerschmitt
This kit will deliver a very well detailed and reasonably accurate Bf109E-3 model straight from the box. Highly recommended!

For anyone who's wondering: this is the Eduard 109E scaled down and re-tooled for 72nd scale.
Eduard make some insane kits. Been eyeing up some Profipack kits to treat myself with
Yeah I built a spitfire from Eduard as well and eyeing their new zero
Beautiful model. Please do more 1/72 scale planes in the future
4:16, one micro second later, you hear the part land on the other side of the room, never to be seen again. Awesome build!
Yes, sometimes for sure that's the case! Then I need a special mining helmet head lamp 😆
@@ScaleModelAircraft I have of found that a headlamp is much better for finding parts that went flying than an ordinary flashlight, no matter how bright.
Ace modeler building an ace kit - what can go wrong? The amount of detail is mindblowing for a 1:72 scale imho...Top notch Dusan - have a nice WE you and all...👍
Thanks for your kind words!!! All the best! Dusan.
I was wondering just the other day... 🙂
Special Hobby is stepping up! 👍
Thanks for sharing this new kit!
The surface detail on that model would put some of the 1:48 kits to shame! Very nicely done.
Those decals are awesome never seen something like this 👍
Superb build !!!!! I hope to see more 1/72 109/190/Spit/Hurricanes etc from a model artist like you !!!!
I've just bought one of these and the quality and level of detail is amazing for 1/72. The soft nature of the plastic and the grey colour reminded me of Frog kits (One for the teenagers) but with the quality of a different century.
wow, looks like a very well engineered kit, great detail and fit. Nice work by you of course! Thanks again for sharing, greatly appreciated.
Special Hobby should sell a lot more kits after people seeing this build, wonderful work on the kit! That carrier film reveal from the decals, man that was so good.
Loved the cockpit and engine detail too.
Thanks for sharing with us all 👍
And the Oscar again goes to...Dusan!!!!! This is the best 109 I have ever seen on youtube.
Not only decals are Eduard Dušan, the whole kit, along with some known flaws is Eduard's rescaled 1/48th Emil.
Nevertheless, very nice kit and build. 👍🏻
Another fantastic build! Thanks Dusan 👍
Watched this twice now and wow another stand out piece of work
Brilliant 👍
Never clicked so fast... Awesome build Dusan!
When it grows up it wants a yellow chin and tail like it's dad.... beautiful work, absolutely wonderful 👍
Great build as always Dusan 👍😎
Good to see Special Hobby are finally stepping up their game with the model kits, detail and fit of parts, unlike their older kits 👍
Very nice and beautyful work !!!👍
Amazing detail for this scale! Great work on a top notch kit 👍
Nice kit, and a fantastic build, thanks for the video.
Yet another excellent build! Very well done Mr. Lekic!
Outstanding job, the finish is so tidy!!
Looks a great kit for 1:72, the detailing is superb.
It is crazy impressive how much detail it is possible to bring into such a small model.
That was one of the greatest kits I've ever build. I must build at least one more. ;) Your result is great, and yes, it is Eduard - whole kit was designed by them. I'm still amazed how great is that kit. It is 1/48 scale details level, or even 1/32 scale sometimes. Once again - Your kit looks absolutely great. All the best for You! ;)
The presentation of the kit and the assembling and painting the parts of the airplane are fantatastic . The final result is awesome , my friend . Thank you for sharing this great video !👍🥇🏆👏👏👏
Amazing build, so realistic weathering and a great finish !
Awesome build 👌👌and once again the Master with the Airbrush 👍👍👍👍
Brilliant as always Dusan
Man it looks as good as eduard! The most detailed 1/72 109 E probably on the market!
This kit looks gorgeous. I'll have to try getting one
Another top notch model, this is one of my favourite versions of this great fighter (Battle of Britain vibe). Preiser some time ago made a set of relaxing Luftwaffe's pilots, a diorama with them and such a beautiful model would be perfect!
Great job. Thanks for sharing.
Nice small model. Great build. Hvala Dušane ;)
Absolutely gorgeous
Great work . Nice model ...small pieze!!!
Fine work, Dusan.
Great work!!!
I'm loving it! Another great build Dusan! Great skill. Thanks for sharing. Will you tell us what's next? B-52 or C-130 that wolud be awesome :D Regards.
Hmmm let's wait and see, many wip builds. All the best! Thanks for suggestion! Dusan
Красивый мессер получился, отличная работа.
Superb Dusan! Again........
Izvrsna maketa i još bolji rad👏👏👏
Great Detail on this small model!
Wow that’s awesome works
Excellent build👍
And now I have one too, ready to be assembled 😊
Great work 👍
Nice kit and Good work!!!
very well done... as always ...beuatifull :)
Another great job!
Work of art.
A great build Dusan, another piece of art. Now for a new 1/72 Bf109 from eduard.
Heh. That's this one. Just reboxed.
@@whtalt92 Lol, great, i build the bf-109 E-3 of eduard and it did looked super identical, thanks for the reply!
All around impressive.
Amazing!
Maravilloso Trabajo en este BF109E
Always awesome...
I immediately thought of eduard decals when I saw them. They look very good after you’ve removed the “top layer”. Just don’t make the same mistake as I did and forget to remove one on a decal. Once you put a coat of clear on top you can’t get it off anymore and it’ll look terrible.
Looking great
You are the best!!!
Отличное видео.
great model!
Excellent
Again such amazing work. Ever put together one of those tanks that have working treads? Also, you may have, (im still going through all your builds lol) but ever build the Enola Gay Blackbird or Nighthawk by chance?
Thanks for your kind words!! I haven't build that kit, yet. I also have some nice metal and older Modelkasten traks. I didn't have spare time to do it. All the best!! Dusan.
It is not the Eduard scaled down (as Alex S says), as Eduard have an Me109F or G tailfin on ALL their E models, E went straight all the way to the aerial post, F and G radiused round to it. Happy to see Special Hobby got it right. Also it appears that the nose vents on the engine cowling have got the correct shape at the back edge, NOT curved as per front edge but flat topped (as is cowling on the ENTIRE top and where the vents also are, then bending down the sides. Not once in the video was there a shot looking aft at the nose, those vents are a distinctive flared shape and not slits when viewed aft, so I think, but video didnt show it, we have at last correct nose vents on an Emil. Me109E it is almost impossible to see the rivets on the real aircraft, so applying a wash to make them all black was not a good move. Also what was that golden brown as RLM71 dark Green IS NOT GOLDEN BROWN ! The end result was a failing with the colours and wash. Photo that at scale height and place that in a real scene with photoshop, it would be miles different, you have gone for an effect and not realism; if that was Mr Aqueous RLM71 its been wrongly labelled , should have sprayed out a sample and stopped when seeing that. Probably RAF Dark Earth or similar ! I also would suggest applying glue to the actual joint, not a wash as it leaves a scarred surface despoiling the surface of this fine model. If that decal will distort to fully hug the 3D instrument panel I would be most amazed. Superb bit of model casting best hand painted or aftermarket pre printed part.
Odličan 👍
Perfektionismus pur 👍🏻🤩
Magnifico !!!!!!!!!!!
I know this sounds crazy but Eduard is about to release the 1/72 Bf-109G and Avia C199 soon looking forward to them
Great model.
very nice
Великолепно!👏👏👏👏👍
Special Hobby has various Bf-109 products with old tool. Hope new tool has same variant of them too.
6:45 oh jesus....the fit.....its so good! Ok time to order this kit lol
Very nice little model mate!! Could you explain hoy did you do the black streaking grime and grease effect down the on the underwing? Thanks for sharing
Thanks!! I can show something like that again in the new videos. Btw, I can check these effects are covered before in my previous builds, streaking with a grime, engine oil wash and blending it with a thinner. All the best! Dusan.
@@ScaleModelAircraft thanks my friend!!
Superb work, even though I find the dark panel lines and shading completely over the top and unrealistic. But I still love them!
Dusan another amazing video of your perfect models. One fast question. Do you find that using Mr. Hobby Aqueous for detailed paint work is better with the solvent Color leveling thinner than the acrylic thinner from Mr. Hobby? THANK YOU!!!
Thanks for your kind words!
To be honest I really can't suggest You to choose between the two. For faster working I will always go with the "smelly" ones. Primer, base coat, cammo even a light coat of gloss over in the same day... but with extra caution. Light paint build up and light coating etc. You can't do this with aqueous, the colour needs more time to cure, but it's much more pleasant for working and less toxic. For the cammo details I would say it's the same for me. Btw, I even use the leveling thinner for enamel colors. I hope this will help. All the best! Dusan.
Well at least Special Hobby has put out the Whirlwind in 1/32nd, because this constant Spitfire, 109, 190, P-51 {throw up} treadmill from all leading manufactures{for Aircraft} is sickening. LOOK AT THAT! A DB FOR A 1/72 KIT! Exhaust is seperate?! HUH! Nice pit and engine work, and agreed - very nice fit. You always do a good job on weathering, always the right touch. The 109 came out perfect Dusan! Congrats!
Thanks again for your nice words and comments Bob!! All the best!! Dusan
Dusan, I would really like to see the complete process. And I mean that I, at least, do prefer to see how you work on the model itself than watching two full minutes of photographs at the end.
This is so well engineering kit that I really can build it in a few hours (with the paint job included). I wanted to show the detail in the first part of the video/review as well the critical aspects during the build and painting, if there is an issue with the fit etc.
Don't get me wrong I can make longer videos with explaining something like "this is the paint brush and now I will highlight the gauge " etc. and talk about that same brush for the next 10min. But it's not my style. All the best! Dusan.
@@ScaleModelAircraft Hey Dusan! No, don't get me wrong. I don't mean something like "this is the paint brush and now I will highlight the gauge". What I mean is that in my humble opinion, what we all want to see is your mastercraft in all the steps of the process till the end, nothing more than that.
Ok ok, thank you for Your feedback and kind words!! All the best!! 🍻
Dusan
Душане, сјајно као и увек.
Beautiful job Dusan! 👍🏻 But I do not like the new-type Eduard decals. ☹️
Nice build man!
"Vati", that means it's Werner Mölders' plane, right?
Yes
What's a "Matherial"? Nice build as always, thanks Dusan but my OCD couldn't take the lack of masking removal from the clear parts.
Special substance, laziness to check my own work... 😆
I know you are very good and build great stuff. So....just a question. Why would you apply the liquid glue from the outside, smearing on the visible surface, when you can just as easily
do it from the inside? I see this in other build vids too. Anyway, great job as usual.
That's what I could have asked, unfortunate still no answer.......
Crazy detail for 99% of it not being able to be seen if you fully build the kit.
Hi, i'm very new in the model build genre. I have seen that you' re using a lot of special glues. I just wanted to ask, for what they are and which one I do need for the beginning...
Thanks and greetings
Is there a chance you can do a 1/32 hispano buchon messerschmitt from the film battle of Britain they do a conversion kit for the hasegawa messerschmitt bf1094 to 6.
Sometimes I have the impression, all modelers think it's a MUST to emphasize every panel line, although it doesn't look very realistic. The second "MUST BE" is the idea, that all Bf 109 E's around 1940 were finished in green tones or here possibly in RLM Dark green 71/RLM grey 02. Since late 1940 most Bf 109's, newly built aircraft as well as machines alredy in the inventory, received the then new camouflage colors in grey tones of RLM74 Dark grey/RLM 75 Grey violet/RLM 76 Pale grey. But most modelers -for unknown reasons- persistently ignore historic facts. It's like the famous "King Tiger"-tank, the correct English translation would be Royal Tiger, but who cares abot a correct pronunciation...
Tiger Baureihen, wild cat family, Königstiger, Leopard, Jaguars like all tanks etc. It's nothing with Royalty. Btw, This is correct camouflage with 4x photo references. I added in some replies available online ref. photo (NOT posted by me). About the rivets It's the matter of personal taste. Thanks for Your comment!! All the best! Dusan.
@@ScaleModelAircraft I occupied myself for years with German camouflage. I would highly appreciate to see your photo references. Do you have any sources (books, online etc.) where to find them? About the name 'Königstiger': you are partially correct. Do to LEO dictionnary the correct translation would be "Bengal tiger". But 'Kingtiger' is nonetheless WRONG.
Работа супер. Никогда не видел таких декалей с плёнкой. Это новые от Эдуарда? Как их отличить от обычных, когда они ещё на листе?
which airbrush do you use? or which one can you recommend?!🤔😋
Many choices, many... HP-CP, Mr.Hobby PS-289, H&S Infinity, Sparmax SP-35b... in this video it's a great Mr.Hobby Custom 0.18mm. 👍 All the best! Dusan
Very beautifull model as always, you are very good modeler. Can you tell me how are you satisfied with these colors ? I have tamiya ok, but i have big problems with ammo air series. So i have to buy different colors. So Mr C or Hobby ? Thank you
Extremely satisfied for more than a 20 years, even longer. I can always warmly recommend Mr.Hobby series 👌 the colour range is hand down the best and accurate.
The C series the laquer based are superb as well but someone don't like the vapours from the paints and respirator is a must. (For all kinds of painting I recommend the respirator as well). All the best! Dusan.
凄っ!
my favorite airplane .... my favorite scale
Very good build! Can you do a ww2 heavy bomber, for example a Lancaster or a Halifax?
Thanks for suggestions, will see, maby I can build something bigger. All the best! Dusan.
what paint brushes do you use?
Nice job! I have a question im a scale beginner, and my airbrush is really spraiying and i have often problems with it. Its an Harder and Steenbeck ultra and i use Revell aqua color with water.
pls help me
Don't use water anymore to thin paints, you can use for paint brush but not so great for airbrush (warm water will work, but complicated to preserve the temperature...)
Usee the regular color mix for acrylic, original Revell thinner for acrylic (Revell Aqua Color Mix).
Revell color acrylic are ok for air brushing if you thin the paints properly, minimum 50/50 mix, test on some spare plastic... they are much better to paint brush. H&S Ultra is very good airbrush so first check your paint mix, then check your air pressure, maby it's to low.
All the best! Dusan.
@@ScaleModelAircraft Thanks so much! Can you tell me which paints are good for airbrushing? Mr Hobby and Tamiya acrylic paints are good, aren’t they?
@@ScaleModelAircraft Hey its me you really helped me with this comment.
I bought Tamiya paints and wow they are just fantastic.
Thank you for all these vids they give me a lot of inspiration and it is really satisfiying to watch them.
Keep doing your amazing work.
Alles gute :)
¡¡¡WAW este bro es el modelador de aviones mas perro que la ciencia 😃😃😃
As I watch you build, I've paused the video long enough to look up this kit and seeing it for such a great price, it's a no brainer decision to buy, the amount of detail for the small scale , I just have to try it :) won't be as good as your results.. strange how a retired old fart would suddenly get interested in model kits again out of the blue ..
☝️as a teenager (40+ years ago) I had this same hobby. The details on this smal 1/72 scale models are stunning nowadays. I'm exploring also to startup this hobby again.......
SVAKA CAST!!!
