    1. I’m on a buying freeze until I empty my storage unit…I will save $206/mo.
    2. I’m having a 1/2 off sale now in my large booth- I usually don’t have sales.
    3. 🙋🏾‍♀️ My name is Bronté and I have 5 booths- largest is 10x10 and smallest is 5x8. I need to empty my storage unit. 🤷🏽‍♀️
    4. All of my booths have themes.
    5. I would never complain about customers, I agree it’s unprofessional.
    Thank you all points are valid. 😊

      Empty that storage unit! You will appreciate that extra $$, and yes, sell off what you have then start with a good plan for how to buy on budget. You can do it!

    Thank you for the tips. They are really helpful. I've been at this for 3 years and realized I was stretched thin. I finally made the decision to go down to one booth. It has made a huge difference in sales and balance of life. Thanks, I'll keep watching.

    Great tips! I think overbuying can be a real problem for many of us. I also particularly liked your professionalism tip. As a buyer I've had interactions with sellers that left me speechless.

    I needed this.... Especially number 1... I've already been making some changes like NOT selling anything big online. I think my time and packing materials eat in to the profit too much. Also the space where a large item is stored can have 20 smaller items that will make more money.

    • @LostFoundDecor
      @LostFoundDecor  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Sounds like you're thinking strategically, awesome! It is SO much work to ship large items.

    I love antique and vintage items, I have been a thrifter of the unique and vintage for 30 years now. I have never bought online through a reseller. I am not putting reselling down, by no means. I love that people have discovered the beauty and quality of pieces from the past. We will never see this quality and beauty again I am afraid. However, half the fun and joy for me is the treasure hunt. Yes, I know Goodwill’s prices have gone up drastically as well as other donation type charity shops inventory. However, in my opinion, it is become more of a challenge and these retail stores let items slip through all of the time. Granted, gone are the days of finding a beautiful Roseville vase at the thrift shop, but that is okay. There are still so many other items out there to procure and love. 💕

    • @LostFoundDecor
      @LostFoundDecor  Před 3 měsíci

      The hunt is a big part of loving it, for sure :)

    Awesome advice! I’m kinda new too. I was in a mall that also sold wine and was upstairs. Things were slow. Now I have a small 7x6 space, in a fun mall…I pay 75.00 a month. (Near Peoria, Illinois). It’s going really well and I’m getting that feeling like I would take a bigger space if one comes up. It’s so good to listen to you…you’ve been there. I love the picking part! So I know I’ve got to force myself to stay home and work with what I’ve got. We have a small “plastic resin” shed we put up, just for my “stuff”…furniture to be painted, out of season bins of stuff for the booth. I refuse to pay monthly for storage! I easily get overwhelmed….so thank you so much for saying that! Is it just me…no…it’s a sign to stop picking!🤣😌💕

      Absolutely. I think there are a lot us that feel and experience all of these things, and it's helpful for me as well to talk with other people and realize I'm not the only person trying to figure it all out :)

    Loved this! I have a fantastic storage space in my house...My mantra is to sell, sell, sell over store, store , store. Also #5 is soooo on point....I absolutely dislike it when other vendors speak badly about customers and other vendors or even other mall owners. When this happens I just have to walk away...bottom line...just be nice!

    Great ideas that I think New Resellers really need to hear! This is a tough business and we all know shopping is our favorite thing to do, BUT, you have to price and list what you have and SELL it, before you keep shopping. I have a booth and my sales this year are just dismal. So I took 3 months off from buying anything and just downsized from 2 booths to just 1. I can't just throw my money away. I hope this helps me and I hope I start selling again, but you have to be practical.

    • @LostFoundDecor

    So in my mall when I ask what is selling I get the same answer "it's just a variety of everything"! So I am not getting a straight answer. I have two booths that were once offices so I get lots of privacy! Currently I have one room 'guy geared' and the other is for 'the ladies'! So I want to switch it up! I want to do one whole room just for kitchen items! The other would be more of a modge podge of other items! I just want to try it out! I really haven't found my groove yet and am still searching! We will be moving our mall to a bigger location in November! I will be taking on a third booth when that happens! I need to definitely improve on my pricing! That is a real struggle with me! I love doing this! I just want and need to improve! I was really happy that in May I made the top 5 sellers! That to me proves I can succeed!

  • @lauraparrack4855

    I do like the picking and display part, the pricing and inventory part not so much. I get overwhelmed with organzing my inventory so I can find what I want and rotate stock. I sadly have stuff that I am sure has not been placed in the booth. I have slowed way down on buying until I can get the inventory under control.

    So timely - Boy I needed this today to avoid going to Value Village on Senior 30% off day. I have been buying so much lately and do not even have all of my recent purchases cleaned and put away. So after I finish writing this, I will be tackling some of it and pricing it to take into my booth. Thank You.

    It seems to me that a lot of resellers that have popular CZcams channels put themselves in this situation. Because they're making enough through CZcams to support themselves, but in order to keep that going they have to be constantly shopping and buying. This is just something I've wondered about. I'm not a reseller myself, so don't have any personal experience with this.

    • @LostFoundDecor
      @LostFoundDecor  Před 3 měsíci +2

      That's a possibility! When you buy stuff to sell, and it doesn't sell, then it stacks up. But I talk with other fellow vendors all the time that don't do anything on CZcams, and they still have storage units and garages full of stuff they've bought because it was a great deal at the time. That's hard to pass up for a lot of folks.

    Excellent points, the last one is so true. Publicly complaining about your customers especially putting their information out there is not only unprofessional, it’s tacky. I’m a no drama girl and if I saw that happening I would completely no longer buy from or recommend that person.

    Yeah, the FOMO is real when it comes to over-sourcing inventory. As is the reluctance to pay up for few quality items at an estate sale and instead clear the Goodwill shelf of $5 items. Even if your business model is fast flips, quality matters. People are looking for the best of the best--and that is what sells, every time no matter the category.
