Thank you so much for watching!
So much knowledge in one 12-minutes video, you are amazing as always Julia!
Thank you!
This is soooo comprehensive, thanks Julia!
Excellent tips! Explaining what metering modes to use for each and the reason is something you don't hear others explain often but of course it is vitally important for correct exposure. Great job.
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Yes exactly! I greatly appreciated that also
Wow! That was a pretty helpful video… awesome work Julia! The most things you listed, I’m doing already but didn’t knew why this works in particular. Always good to know when things get tricky 🤔😉
As always, great video Julia! Very helpful
Thank you so much for this! I am new to portrait photography and took notes on everything you said! ❤
Always fabulous useful content! Thank you Julia I needed this today xoxo
You are so awesome for giving so much info in these videos. Thanks a lot. Favorite natural lighting is diffused especially cloudy. I like the moody soft look. 👍🏾
Love this video, very clear and simple. Also love the pictures!
Love your videos, you explain so well photography and how everything works. All 3 you make look so easy. Backlight and early morning or late afternoon.
I love this video! It's insightful, beautifully explained and easy is to understand whilist getting so much information. So thank you and great work!
Thankyou for the tips, I started off shooting natural and started experimenting with strobe lighting on location and now I am getting back into more natural looking lighting using sun in different conditions and I love your insights
Really helpful tips, Julia - as a film photographer, this is something I struggle with, so looking forward to trying some of these tips.
Been watching tons of your vids already 😍 i'm learning a lot. 🥺🙌🙌🙌
thank you for providing us with actual stuff that we can learn from. this has been really helpful for me as someone looking to pick up photography as a hobby
Great tips! I liked all of them and look forward to trying them. Thank you for your great videos!
Very informative. One of the better videos on this topic. I like how efficient you are at clearly relaying the important information. Thank you.
Good idea to do this video to differentiate among the 3 natural light shoots. I know I pretty much take for granted shooting outdoors and simply try to make each shot work. Never thought much about an underlying strategy about the process. I will now, and will be better prepared with your tips. Thank you.
I have watched many videos about natural light by many great photographers, yours is the absolute best. Very comprehensive and makes total sense. Thanks for sharing Julia.
Thank you love! This was a great, super supportive and helpful video
I prefer shooting with natural light as well! Thank you for the tips, amazing as always!
Really enjoyed this video! Thanks Julia!
Very well explained. Thanks Julia!
I love this! I like how you explain which metering mode you use and why. One thing that a lot forget to do (especially when just starting) is to use the metering modes properly and they think that it's recoverable in post. More so now that dynamic range in cameras are great but still, there are scenarios where certain types of metering won't work with the scene.
love this tips! really awesome..i love portrait shots...learn alot...thank you!
Thank you Julia! Great videos. Well, perfect!
Backlight is what got me watching your videos and following ig for sure and this is the video i keep going back to🙏

Thank you, that means a lot :)
What an amazing and informative video! Thank you Julia!
Thanks so much!
Great video, I will explore the idea of spot metering. I’m 100% always using matrix, so it’s worth giving it a try. Thank you.
Awesome video as always, last weekend I took a heap of shots of my daughter (Had to take a lot of shots very hard to capture a 3 year old, moving so quick!) using diffused and backlight, got some amazing shots using backlight.
Great tips Julz! thank you. 😎
Easily one of the best videos on photography tips.

Great video Julia ! ♥️
great tips. thank you beautiful julia 🙂
Your photography is goals!!!!!!
Backlight and overcast since our winters are so long and always overcast light 97% . Wonderful tips and feel like I should try out the spot metering as I never use it.
Brilliant.. learned a lot thank you.
Thank you for always putting out the most informative content, Julia! Appreciate your work and guidance so much!
Thank you for watching, I appreciate it 💛
I watched the whole video at normal speed. That's how good it was. You make portrait photography seem so easy, I like all three styles, the first for vibrant and contrast compositions, the second coz it looks like the models are dreaming and the 3rd the viewer is dreaming too, we're transported there, like a movie scene✌
Hahah thank you!!
Wow nice content. Every pic is a lesson. Thanks
It was precisely at that moment I realised I still a beginner LUL I am very new to photography, I wish (for me) it was easy in practice. As always, very beautiful photography and attentive to details in the videos and shots. Inspiration is what you are providing me to get better at this XD Thank you
thank you Julia

I learned a lot from this video! Thank You!
Canva is such a great program. I use it very often. Sorry, it's about the video. Thank you for this great video and the many valuable tips. If you make the video, quality is always included.👏
I watched your budget prime lens video and now I'm a fan. Love working with the 35 mm on portraits and this videos has the best tips. Regards from Chile.
Thank you so much!
Thanks for the tips!
great tips Julia, and stay safe....god bless
These tips were so helpful! Also Julia I'm switching over from Canon 5D to Sony😀. Wanted to ask your opinion on what body and a couple lenses to start with. I shoot portrait, family, children & newborn so I'm looking forward to that fast focusing!! If you could only pick one Sony body and a couple inches to start with what would you buy? Thanks for all your videos Julia. I can't even tell you how much your videos on shooting and editing have changed my photography and vision. You are amazing 🥰🤗😽💛💛
Excellent video. Since shooting locations can be chosen by client/subject, I will use whichever one works in the location. I do, however, like the edginess of direct sun.
Thanks you Julia
Good video and great tips 👍🏻 I cannot wait until I got my next portrait shooting and testing out these styles 😬
