- They call this golf drill "The Hell Drill" because it's certainly not easy, but if you stick with it, your golf swing will thank you.

Best lesson on this drill. Too little of Ryan Hager on CZcams. Thanks fellas!
Absolutely great video. My problem exactly. Thanks for posting.
I only discovered this on my pwn in the back yard yesterday and now this video.
Im going to have to try it at the range
Great video guys. May I ask what hitting net / screen that is please? Looking for something similar.
This REALLY helped my pull hook. Only took a couple of sessions to really feel the difference.
Video was just posted and u fixed ur swing? LOL
Good lessons and tips yield fast results 🙌🏻
@shams923 Oh no. I had an actual lesson with a pro in December who made me do this. I clicked on this coz the thumbnail was exactly what I've been doing on the range.
that's pretty amazing. I myself will be trying the same thing and let's see if this brings any difference 😉
Great drill for irons! Do we do anything different for Driver or fairway woods??
Great Drill. This is an old habit (Closed release position) I have in my swing. I wil try it this week.
great drill !
I absolutely love this. ⛳🏌️
I wonder if taking pressure away before fingers and concentrating on the connection between the meaty pad of the right hand and the left thumb would work?
I used to use this drill when learning my swing great drill
Great drill - keen to try this 👏
I’m sure that it looks easier than it is 😂
Good drill, i used the hogan thumb and fore finger off the club to help the body fire through.
I wonder if this would help if we have the opposite problem. I have a nasty slice with my driver but with my irons it tends to go a bit striaghter. Might give it a go once the driving range opens back up in the spring.
It definitely would because a slice is likely caused by an open face on the driver; this drill is designed to keep everything more straight, so I would highly recommend you give it a try! Do you not have an indoor golf option near you?? The simulator I go to has courses to play but also can be used as a driving range that gives a ton of stats (like club face and swing path!) that are helpful.
Love this drill but I can’t translate it. I’m face to path -3 to -6. Drill gets me + and I can feel the lead release but can’t translate. Unsure why as soon as I put my trail finger on the club I start turning the face.
I’m low hcp but the hooks are killing me is why I’m here
Thanks!
5:05 (for reference later at the range when I try this.... Thanks!)
I have always squared the club face with the lead hand to square and then rotated my body. But now with a
damaged middle finger on the lead hand I can't make that move because of the pain. When I tried to square
the club face with my trail hand it get a snap hook like you said. I will practice this drill. Thank you.
Great vid. Will try out. Just wondering what tour pros show this type of rotational release best?
Best of example of a great player David Duval, maybe Hunter Mahan too?
I have trouble releasing my hands ( exact opposite of your problem). This drill is easy for me and feels completely natural. Funny how golf works 😂😂
I’ve been using a swimming paddle for years.
Man this is tough, need to make my left arm and grip stronger. I can do it but it does not feel that great but the release looks good
This drill seems much more functional than the tennis racket one. Time to grind, thanks!
Hogan says in his book that the finger and thumb don't put pressure on the grip
Here because of Aberg on the US Open
Any idea why my middle two fingers on my right hand are getting sore? To tight with the grip?
It's usually because they're hooked around, and when you release, you can hyperextend. Then you end up sore. (Who has two thumbs and this problem? Me.)
You might be using a wrong swing grip for yourself. Are you using a weak (underhand) or strong (overhand) grip by any chance? Both would certainly apply unwanted pressure to your fingers.
Maybe your grips are too small. Try out a mid size or Jumbo and see if that reduces the tension.
Gotcha....
The swing is an underhand ball toss
Check out Mike Malaska Golf...he teaches this swing method and he's the best teacher on CZcams!
Deflection of the ball is not due to loft, it's due to the length of the shaft. The longer the lever the greater the effect due to distance traveled. One degree offline at 75 yards has little effect. At 300 yards you are well into the first cut of rough if not in the trees.
What does shaft length have to do with face angle?
It has to do with the path, the face and the speed (speed being affected by shaft length)
You’re talking nonsense 😂
have a look at Malaska golf on the tube. Easier to accomplish?
just keep your hands still in your takeaway as you pass your trail foot. problem solved.
