  • How to Pass Med Surg
    In this video, we're going to talk about how to pass med surg in nursing school. It is one of the most common questions I am asked by nursing students, and we are going to dive into how to pass med surg, step-by-step.
    Med surg is really where you start to deepen your critical thinking skills and really start piecing things together and applying them to the real world. Nursing school exams are ALWAYS going to test you on is how well you critically think. The biggest part to critical thinking is connection the dots between everything that you're learning.
    We'll talk about what makes med-surg so hard, and I have five tips you can start implementing so that you can pass med surg with flying colors and ace your nursing school exams.
    You are doing an outstanding job, friend! You will be a fantastic nurse that God created only you to be.

      @@NursingSOS Thank you! Yes, I agree with you. Sometimes, the questions on tests have nothing to do with what was discussed in class. However, those questions will make make up a small portion of the tests. Some questions can be arbitrary too.

      Brendan Brertram, med surg is going through the disorders and diseases and pulling all the information together. Making sure you can critically think through what is happening with the patient and how you will care for them. Thank you so much for being here, your support means the world to us!

    It's my second term of nursing school and I'm taking PHARM/MED SURG. its so difficult.
    I know the content but the exam questions are where I go wrong. I can't figure out a way to answer the questions right and do well on exams.

      daniela fels you CAN do this! You are doing better than you think you are! Keep up all the hard work, incorporate practice questions into your studying, and focus your studying on really understanding what is happening in the body to get a full understanding rather than just trying to memorize it all. You CAN do this!

    Hi, im in my last few weeks of PN program. My professor has nit taught anything in my class. She reads the power points to us. 3 to 4 chapters every week. Test time there are 6 to 12 chapters to review and expected to know. Its a lot of material. Its unfair, bcs out of all of that material she questions on 1 or 2 disease process. We overstudy and are burned out by test time, resulting in failure of the test or testing poorly. Please help.

    How can I understand well the pathophysiologies in a simple way? And how can I know that this is not important to study

    • @NursingSOS
      @NursingSOS  Před 2 lety +2

      ACKISA MSONGA, great question! So you will want to make sure you fully understand the patho, enough so that you can explain what is happening inside the body and why it would be causing the symptoms you might see in patients. And focus on what your instructors cover in class. You are doing better than you think you are, friend!

    The problem is that my instructor just reads the PPT in class. Like, all of it. We have 64 question exams and the required reading is no less than 100 pages per unit, so cleary not everything lectured will be tested on. Im studying so hard but barely passing; it doesn't make any sense!
