On Wings of Song…and on to The Hopkins Manuscript! And some other reads for July, that you have already listed as serious considerations. I’m gonna be hanging on every word of every video, this month, I plum reckon.
I read this earlier this year as well. It is definitely a strange book. It’s my least favorite Disch so far. Disch was very very jaded from his religious upbringing. He brings that through often in his writings. Great explanation of a difficult book to explain!
Thanks Ryan, your videos about Disch have really intrigued me. I will be reading more from him in the future. Just maybe not in the cold, dark, depressing Montana winters, haha.
Thanks for the review. I considered buying it a few days ago and passed because of the cover art and the length.
When I saw that cover I did not expect the book to be so dark!
I feel like the cover art used in my thumbnail of the US hardback better conveys the tone of the book.

Seth, you are mostly responsible for this month, haha. I'm loving it.
Dark visions, beautiful prose. Thomas Disch.
Yeah, seems like an author that you wouldn't want to binge, but oh man, can this guy write.

Sounds like a hard pass for me! Thanks for the review!
Don't blame you. Thanks for watching.
