This is definitely a re-watch movie. From the girl in the asylum saying "You look like someone I've seen before" to "Ask your mother", and the fact Longlegs IS the man downstairs in their literal house! I LOVED the twist with her mother!

I fully agree! I’m a huge fan of the cryptic reveals that can be shown in movies like this, since they can mean so many different things. I’ve let the movie marinate in my head since I’ve seen it and it really stuck with me

It is basicly the plot of the exorcist but told in a silence of the lambs setting.

If y'all liked long legs, do a retro review and do night house

That’s a great suggestion!! I’ve been meaning to get to that movie. We’ll consider it for our October horror retrospective reviews!

Night house is the typical vague many-parts-fish-tale film... A lot of vague artistic stuff included in order to make some sort of a beautifully-drawn point (many aspects extremely vague and mutually contradictory) - all suggest that the director and writer really didn't know what to do with the film.
Rebecca Hall is... extremely good, but you can't save a vague film with just that.
That's the problem with such films... no room for closure, in my opinion, and the symbolistic and interpretation aspects are driven too far into the vague.
