Because this is top heavy I would use a heavier base/ pot like a terracotta pot.You can cover the pot up with paint ,or fabric or wrap it in gold or any metallic paper.
Would it work if we just paint the ball (base) gold colour so the white doesn’t show at all? If the ball (base) is painted gold then would the gaps still have to be filled up?

I would make the topiary top shorter, and maybe it wouldn't be so top heavy. Also the bow would look pretty right under the top topiary.
