Welcome to the official Laver Cup CZcams channel. Laver Cup London 2022 runs from September 23-25 at The O2. The tournament takes place for the fifth time and features some of the best players in the world. Björn Borg captains Team Europe, consisting of Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Casper Ruud, Roger Federer and Andy Murray. John McEnroe captains Team World, consisting of Felix Auger-Aliassime, Taylor Fritz, Diego Schwartzman, Alex De Minaur, Frances Tiafoe and Jack Sock. Team Europe’s vice captain is Thomas Enqvist and Team World’s vice captain is Patrick McEnroe. In all four previous editions of the Laver Cup, Team Europe have been crowned champions, including last year at Boston 2021.

I want to share a few experiences I've had this year, I hope it helps someone in need.
My Top 4 standing side-by-side..It is an emotional moment watching play against each other all these years. Glad to witness amazing matches in two decades and Roger will always be my first hero in tennis, followed by Nadal and Djokovic..Love you guys.

I like how the applause got louder with each consecutive player for team Europe. Leaving Federer last in with the greatest applause. While it’s debated who the goat is, between Rafa and Djokovic, Federer is probably the most influential/ambassador of the sport of tennis. If it was one person that popularized the sport, it was Federer due to his early rise to fame before the other two. However, this would also be the reason for his retirement earlier than the other two. It was a miracle he even won titles in 2017-18 but his smooth play-style helped increase his longevity. While people say age isn’t an excuse, in the realm of sports especially tennis, being 5 years older than the other 2 already puts you at a disadvantage. The success and longevity of a tennis player is contributed by both strategy, stature, and the era you played in. A player may have the potential to win possible slams but is sidelined by multiple injuries and forced to retire early. A prime example was Del Potro. His stature and brute force play style led to many injuries which I think led to his early retirement.
Federer seems more influential than Nadal and Djokovic because he came 3 years earlier than Nadal and 6 years earlier than Djokovic.
When he came the technological boom was just round the corner. BIG3 are more popular, more influential than the other players of the past because they reached millions of more people than any player of the past.
The past players lost out due to technology. There were limited TV broadcast, no internet, no social media, no smartphones.
And obviously if you are watching some players more, reading about them more and discussing about them more then you are likely to like them more. They are going to leave much greater impact on your mind.
That is why to me this GOAT concept is flawed. How can anyone declare someone GOAT when you have not seen other players of the past.
Moreover if you declare someone GOAT then does the future players have any shot(sic) at being considered as a GOAT? If yes then what will happen to the present GOAT?
But never to forget: Since Novak came. Novak won more grand slames that both Federrer and Rafa together. So...you can conclude whatever you want, the facts are always there! BUT I WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND THE FRUSTRATION ABOUT THAT FACT!
while it's true that the big3 h2h is irrelevant simply because roger is so much older than the other 2, it doesn't change the fact that tennis has changed a lot in the last 15 years and the physicality, skill and technique employed by the top players nowadays is a lot different from what roger was doing at his peak
