Please, please don't take the emotional feedback from the super fans personal, you're not the first one to fall on the wrong side of the "parental reaction" from some of the ones that been following her for many years. I am a norwegian and consider Angelina to be a national treasure, but I also respect anyone`s opinion about Angelina`s vocal ability. Keep up the good work and continue to be honest. BTW, regarding her rendition of I have nothing, I totaly agree with Asia, but Angelina will be better as she grow :)

So nice that you recognize that the way she sings is full of (sort of hidden) skills! The timing, the breathing, the dynamics, the little inflections a.s.o. Indeed her affinity with jazz from a very young age made her phrasing inimitable. What they call negative space: her pauses are full of 'expactation', not many singers can do that! All that combined with a very good taste and a lot of joy makes her unique, if you ask me!

It would be great if you could react to two songs that are not covers, because their authors asked to Angelina to interpret them:
• “Song for A” (at age 13): It is the only song on Nico Cartosio's album “Melting” that includes vocalization by a singer; the others are merely instrumental. Cartosio wrote this song specifically for Angelina. This lovely song is based on the 1783 poem “The rigs of barley” by Scottish poet Robert Burns (1759-1796).
• “I’m still am holding out for you” (demo): It was recorded one week before she turning 11. Some consider it to represent one of Angelina's best vocal performances. I would very much appreciate to know your criteria in this regard.
Both excellent choices, both at the same age, and the 2 songs sung totally different.
As good as Angelina is, we have to keep in mind that in many of her videos we're hearing her sing the song for only the first or second time, often in a single take. I thought her Whitney tribute of "I Who have Noting" was excellent taking all of that into consideration, and it isn't really fair to compare it to a studio recording by a seasoned artist. Nevertheless, your criticisms were bang on and not at all disrespectful to Angelina. Before she did that recording, many people had said that she couldn't do a decent belt. She put that opinion to rest..

I love your reactions. It is surprising how some fans take a hint of criticism personally and attack the reactor. I personally thought her version of I have Nothing was wonderful and didn't hear the faults you noticed. It sounded beautiful to me but I do not have knowledge of the technical aspects of singing, I just enjoy singing that sounds good. Obviously there were parts of the song that did not sound right to you. Nevertheless, I appreciate your comments and hope that fans will react with grace and that the nasty comments you might have received do not affect your opinion of Angelina. AJ has a high music IQ meaning she knows her voice's capabilities and then arranges the song to fit Her. At the same time takes risks as she progresses and grow. Asia, keep up the critiques because it's your respectful opinion and I enjoy watching you two!
Certainly one could evaluate one or the other in Angelina's voice development differently. I myself, for example, did not find her vibrato perfect at the age of six: but for heaven's sake: she was tiny little six years old! And only at the beginning of a great journey!
But from the first time I heard her sing, Angelina's soul penetrated directly into my soul. And even today, after more than 8 years listening to her, she still moves me to tears.
Nothing against other singers: but Angelina is unique.
And she gets better every day. Let's just give her the time to find her goal, a goal that the overwhelming majority of all singers can't even imagine, let alone achieve.

I saw her on America´s GT and I knew, that she could not win. But I didn´t care: with two songs alone she gave me more than ANY other singer could give me in centuries!

As I recall, you stipulated you were both huge Whitney Houston fans and being such it is impossible for anyone to match one of your favorite artists. I feel the same way about Somewhere Over the Rainbow and how no one, even Angelina, will surpass Judy Garland in my opinion. When you come to her cover of " I'll Be There " be nice, it was a sick litle girl 8 yo doing her best. It is her least perfect song and one of my favorits. Some reactors chose to not do it.

In the interest of full disclosure, I am 70 years old and Angelina is my favorite all time singer because of the way she touches my heart and soul. I listen to her several hours every day. Listening to Angelina touches the best part of me. There are others like Dimash with greater overall technical skills (ie. like his range) that are amazing singers but no one touches the guts of my heart and whole being the way Angelina does. To me she is very special and a gift to the world. Having said that, I get your reaction to I Have Nothing .... the higher portion of the song definitely stretched the upper register of Angelina's vocal range at the time. I do give her kudos for singing the song as a tribute to Whitney who I believe is one of her favorite singers. As a long time Angelina fan, I wish I could apologize for the nasty comments. It’s hard for you to ignore them, but you should. For what it’s worth, her cover of Whitney’s song gets some critical comments from more reviewers than just about any other. I think the reason is that we’re used to seeing Angelina floating so effortlessly through the lyrics of everything she sings. But not on that particular Whitney song. She’s right at the limit of her range, and that’s evident. We’re watching a 13 year old cover a signature song by Whitney-when she was at the top of her game with a voice that is unmatched. Credit to Angelina for doing this cover. I don’t think there has ever been a singer I’ve heard who covers so beautifully artists as diverse as Whitney, James Brown, Elton John, Queen, Rihanna, Adele, Sinatra, Etta James...and I could go on.

Angelina is human, not a GOD, she's not going to sing everything perfectly, nor should people expect everyone to think she does. I had the same thoughts when I listened to that cover. It didn't mean I loved her any less, or didn't enjoy watching or listening to her. If she was perfect she would be boring. I dont get why people are so hurt and so mad. I been following Angelina since her first audition in Norways got talent. And im not talking about i watched 1 year ago and then watched all her stuff. I live in Norway and watched it when it aired on tv in Norway. I been watching her for what... 7 years now.. And i agree with asia. I think angelina might be the best thing to have come out of Norway since the paper clip and ostehøvel and i will protect her.... If their wrong.. If they speaking facts thrre is nothing i can do. Asia, please remain faithful to your criticism of AJ or any other artists on YOUR CHANNEL. I apologize on behalf of those who couldn't take your honest critique. I hope you'd understand the passion for this child goes beyond a musical connection, it is a spiritual one hence our sense of protection of her and as such, some of her angels aren't able to handle any kind of criticism, sorry about that. Anyone with trained ears is able to detect the same things you heard on AJ's rendition of "I have nothing." She was about 12 or 13 and incredibly brave to take on Whitney Houston, although I'm 100 % certain that the next time we hear her cover the same song, she will surpass the original version... There are so many long-term fans of Angelina that started following her on CZcams when she was around 6 years old with her version of "I Who Have Nothing" by Tom Jones. They all realized how amazing this little girl was. No other little girl could even come close to singing like that. From 7 to 10 years old, she was simply incredible covering such great jazz artists as Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, Dinah Washington Frank Sinatra and so on.

Angelina was inspired by Whitney and wanted to be a singer like her. When she was 12, she wanted to pay tribute to Whitney honoring her with "I Have Nothing".
About 2 years ago, I was watching a reactor first time reacting to Angelina singing
" I Have Nothing". ( he was a huge Whitney fan ). He criticized Angelina quite a bit -- not hitting the power notes, singing it at a little higher temple, to pitchy,
etc... he kept saying Whitney Houston was so much better and why did everybody think Angelina was so good. Well, as you know, he got a lot of comments. Reading them , I was surprised how many professional people responded. They vocal coaches, music teachers, producers, opera singers and professional singers. They all agreed that he was off base. One of them said she knew Whitney around the same age as Angelina. They all said she did an amazing job considering you're comparing a 12 year old girl with a 29 year-old woman. This is Whitney's original song, rehearsing it many times in a studio with electronic tweaking. Angelina is singing at home listening to a soundtrack in one take. Also many said her chest, lungs and diaphragm aren't fully developed yet to push out those powerful notes. There was a Little pithyness but considered it minor. They knew of no other little girl that could even come close to sing this song like Angelina did. BTW the coach that new Whitney when she was around 12 said that no way she was able to sings this song like this at her age. It took Whitney several more years to become a talented singer, around 17 I think.
I can see why so many of her fans got really upset with you after seeing all that she accomplished over the years to see someone criticize her by comparing her to Whitney Houston, 17 years her senior. Still, there is no call for disrespectful and rude or vulgar comments. And if you watch Angelina growing up from winning Norway's Got Talent at 8 years old too apparently on The View (8)and invited to sing at the 2014 Nobel Prize peace concert(8) and Quincy Jones personally invited her to sing at his 85th birthday concert in London (age 12).
Also saying for President Obama and other dignitaries. Plus thousands of people waiting in line for hours to see her at jazz festivals and concerts around the world. When she's criticized for being a little loyal fans. When you get to see her growing up and evolving you can see why some of her fans are very sensitive. Hope this gives you a little insight.
We know your as big of a fan of Angelina as the most dedicated of us are, it’s impossible to put out the amount of covers that Angelina has and at a ridiculously early age and hand on heart say 1% of them are perfect, she is confident enough to go for the big ones, Angie’s not one to play it safe, that why she’s ahead of the field. ❤
What I am most impressed by in this performance, is the dynamics she puts into this. I think that's what you were talking about when Asia said she gives it more, then brings it back down. She does it so effortlessly, it's just amazing. Thanks for your reactions to Angelina & I'm sorry if some fans were rude & mean on a previous video. I'm sure Angelina would not want her fans doing that. I still haven't watched the video in question, because when I saw all the thumbs down, I didn't want to see a lot of negativity, so I just moved on to the next one. I will eventually watch it, but I'm holding off for now. You are doing a great job promoting Angelina & I thank you for that.

Omid - I would like to 2nd this and ask that Asia & BJ (and all other reactors to be honest) to not hesitate (and actually maybe be more proactive) in immediately deleting any comment or remark that THEY (the reactor) deem to be inappropriate or as Asia I think said - "to far to the left". I am not trying to suggest preventing free speech of reacting to a reactors own comments (not at all) but I think it is the only way we will maybe reduce this or hopefully stamp it out.. Luckily there isn't too much of it I don't believe, but as you say it is in the hands of anyone and everyone commenting to try to recognise a deliberately provocative or baiting comment and just pass it by. This song is so sweet and warm when Angelina sings it and among my favourites.
Whatever is going on in the world, all this hate talk, divisive talk, negativity, etc, we don’t need to bring into Angelina’s world. We are hurting her when we do that. Her messages have been about encouraging dignity between us and the environment, let’s not cost her fans.

She just needs to be bigger. Once she is young adult (now) she will have greater air capacity and be able to put even more rich into her low tones. Major goose bumps here.
Asia I appreciate your comments/criticisms. Because I know it's honest. Not that I always agree but you have made me think. It is your job to give an honest reaction in your own way. It is Angelina's job to give her own arrangement of every song she sings and to me she outperforms everyone.

I think Frankie Valli wrote and recorded this song in the late 60s. It's a classic 60s song that AJ has taken, shaped and molded into a timeless sound that only she does so well. Thanks for the reaction!
