Thanks a bunch for the great video. I had to refer to it a few times while replacing the alternator. The biggest problem I had was removing the plastic electrical connector from the old unit. Well done!

What you failed to tell people is there’s a but behind the top bolt of the Alternator that drop in the back of it when you take it off. Other than that nice video!!

By the way you don't have to pry the belt off you have to loosen the bolt on the idler pulley and there's a bolt underneath attached you loosen that and it drops down for a tensioner😅

Can you get to the alternator from the bottom ? Wouldn’t it be easier ?

  • @mattcero1

When I do this I take the battery out of the car and give it a charge off to the side as it provides elbow room and gives it a good charge, possibly needed after being downstream from a bad alternator.

Hi, great video. Isn't there a locking bolt on the back of the alternator for one of the two bolts that mount it? I didn't see it mentioned in the video. I'm wondering how you got it back on if you did.

The belt tensioners are actually pretty easy to adjust on these. I had to figure it out myself.

There’s a 12mm bolt right under the tensioner pulley, the tensioner pulley is the one right next to the alternator and you’ll have to loosen it from the bottom of the car. Once you start loosening the bolt the pulley will slowly drop and release tension.

Without being able to see what's going on, it's less than useless. You were in the way so much of the time the information you gave was not useable.
