- When I was doing my research about Trolltunga, I could tell it was an epic hike and something that I would really love to do. However, I was here in May and that was the off season for hiking.
The internet was recommending guided walks but that was not something I wanted. I was hesitant at first as I did not know what conditions I would face. I decided to go ahead anyways and decided to film my experience so you can make an informed decision when considering this hike. I hope you enjoy watching this video as much as i enjoyed making it.
P.s Weather here in May is really unpredictable and I had to wait for 2 rainy days to pass before attempting to hike. Something that you should take into consideration when planning your itinerary.

oh i love that... you looked cold in the morning..!! great to wild camp..not done it for years...
It was really cold. Was hoping the sun would warm things up abit haha
Beautiful as always
Thank you! 😊
Thanks man im thinking of going this October myself alone.
Gamer 4 life it’s a good hike and I would totally recommend you bring a tent so you can spend the night there and have the place to yourself 😁
@@BernardLau1991 Hey yeh im going to buy tent this week but I will use it on other places also on the trip. Thanks :) Good idea to stay night there.
Thanks for the info! I plan on doing this hike in July, but looping around the other side of the lake for a 3 day trip. Any insight on the condition of the trail on the southern side? Great channel by the way. Subscribed.
Hey! Thanks for the support! Unfortunately, I only did this route and have no idea about the other one you mentioned. Sorry! :/
I am amazed about how quiet is was, so few people doing this?
Roel E in the summer months I heard there is a lot of people attempting the hike. But I did it right before summer. Maybe that’s why it was relatively quiet :)
@@BernardLau1991 great! :D and good to know haha
Enjoyed your video! Any idea how cold it gets overnight while you camped?
Thanks! :) I'm pretty sure it was below 5 degrees haha. Bring many layers and a sleeping bag
Hi, I am planning to go this 30th May I am wondering if you brought any snow spikes with you and where do you set up your camp?
I didn’t use any snow spikes. I don’t think it is necessary as the conditions aren’t that extreme. But then again, it’s good to be prepared for any weather. There are no camping restrictions so I camp literally next to the iconic spot. Hope this helps!
Planning to hike next week😅 is it mandatory to have a guide if the trail is still with snow?
Apple Joy Viernes nope you won’t need a guide but they do recommend you have one for safety. I did it when there was snow on the trail and I did feel quite safe haha. Plus there are other groups with guides and I’m sure they will offer assistance if you need any. 😂
Bernard Lau Thanks😊 Keep safe on your next hike.
Apple Joy Viernes thanks! Enjoy trolltunga 😁
