Who remembers Method Man in Def Jam Vendetta. Classic shit right there.
Def Jam Fight for NY
Lmfao AbstractRule i can't hate on that
Damn my nigga you brought back memories
Hella dope throw back
Hell yea! that was my game!
Meth wearing glasses and a cardigan - fuck I'm getting old.
LMAO
+MrMilo2013 *** you aint lying
Looks like RZA picked out Method Man's outfit. RZA got called a sellout for saying black males should be dressing like his.
+MrMilo2013 One of the worst thing to see in a mall or walking down the street is,To see a grown ass man dressing as if he is 18 years old. This look that Meth has is grown and stylish .We're not teenagers any longer. If your 35 and up dress your age and act it.Juss saying..
+Terrence A Bascom Totally agree! ;-)
"To make a long story longer...." Method Man is the coolest man alive.
Lol he really is cool asl tho alotta mfs Neva noticed
Facts 👍
Yea I gotta agree he is the illest wu on the team, movies n all...
You gotta put Snoop an Red man in that catagory as well, Snoop made it cool to smoke weed an still be expected by high society that looks down on your average person that smokes weed, now matter where he goes an whoever is interviewing him he can be high as hell an they be like that's Just Snoop Doing Snoop.
Legend, glad I grew up in that hip hop era no doubt
Method man, Thats my dude! Who remembers when he used to have the crazy hair with the weird contact lenses and fangs?
+Tariusmusic LAWD YASSSSSS.
+Marshall Street people throwing those words around too loosely now
wow ..who remembers? CORNBALL
I always thought he had a glass eye
That’s when he was TICAL! Method always been the man!!!
I could listen to OG talk all day long because theirs is always something to learn!
1real_diamond there's** (no disrespect)
For real
As a native new yorker it is refreshing to hear a veteran with that thick ny accent. There's so much gentrification that you don't hear it as much anymore...
Yeah Mann , gentrification is getting to serious man
I love Method. I watched the interview in its entirety without fast
forwarding. This man is a majestic story teller, and his spirit is so
genuine and humble. Hold ya head Meth, you the man 50 grand, we still out here rockin strong witchu.
I absolutely love this man! Method Man is definitely one of my favorite MCs.. He's not afraid to venture out and do different things. He's a living legend and still remains humble. Anything he does, I'll support.
As the rich get richer the poor get poorer. And people are so emotionally invested in these celebrities that when we try and get people to stop giving rich people money they will actually fight against you a poor person and justify why they love a celebrity that they don’t care if they are mega rich. People who are stuck on celebrities are mentally bankrupt and need to start making serious deposits in this mental bank.
@@johnanthonyakablueeyez5506this is one of the most retarded comments I’ve ever read. Method man is not only a celebrity but an actual a person and a real one too. He’s highly intelligent and thinks before he speaks. He’s not a kardashian bro
@@johnanthonyakablueeyez5506 bro what 😂
Nice Interview. Liked the XXL Em quote. Also cool that he named his son after Rae.
Love that profile pic. I still rock that album hard.
What point was that quote at ?
cutup1 Word Doo Rags song go hard on that tape
He names his son around 6:40
Hiphop4life2011 I can't load the video for some reason right now but it's early. Somewhere between 6 and 10 mins I think.
It was at 10:55.
What a legend.
critics always trash adam, its the fan base that keeps him going, he has F.U. Money
I love hearing about all the stories from the 90's during the golden era of hip hop
I remember meeting him when the 36 chambers came out he was the 1st one out the clan to come to the crowd and say wassup he shook my hand like he knew me for year's thats how down to earth he is
Lies
Method man quoting that eminem line from Marshall Mathers track cool Prob went over their heads
WhAt time. I musta missed it?
10:55
Don AGL
I think its towards the beginning....when he says "XXL XXL...now maybe your mag will sell"
👆^ smh at this comment right here, but please no name calling. No he was never eminem' manager you thinking Paul Rosenberg
In his defense they do have the same last name & share the same initials PR.
Method Man - Bring Da Pain - what a track!
Wooow. Such a humble person. I'm not familiar with his work, but i'am certainly going to listen to his stuff. Respect.
4:21...The Day After. Great album too as well as Blackout! And pretty much all his shit. He's a true artist.
+Sergii Krynytskyi you need the uncut RZA tracks
+Sergii Krynytskyi You may have heard of his group, a little known collective known as the Wu Tang Clan, who shall not be fucked with.
+Sergii Krynytskyi Yeah check out
Tical 2000: Judgement Day. Sick
Sergii Krynytskyi damn bro sorry to come across this comment, this guy is a legend.
Method is as sharp as a razor blade.
Meth is in my top 5 of all time!! Phenomenal interview, but how they gon forget he was in Soul Plane lol
Because Hot 97 is wack that's the first movie i thought of. Idk call me racist but Hot 97 are white folks that like Hip Hop but dont love Hip Hop its their job that's how i see they had more questions for Amber Rose than the legendary method man fuck i fux with Hot 97 but i just cant fux wit Hot 97
or The Wire
Meth prolly was like, "Yo, don't mention soul plane though. Not a good look!"
Denzell Logan soul plane is a classic
He forgot belly too...
one of the best interviews i have ever heard from hot 97
It's really great
When Method Man came in the studio with us with Red they slept in sleeping bags just like us and popped up ready to record because the session was still going.... They the most real Foreal
I can't help but respect and love Method Man as a artist. Not only is he skilled he carries himself as a gentleman.
Meth is where I got my cool from as a kid. Wanted to be just like that guy. Respect
Yo I grew up listening to meth and the wu crazy how old we all are now bruh
Shit crazy lol
Dam time fly so fast seem like high school was yesterday.
Im still in high school but i kinda wish i was born before 97 just cuz of hip-hop
Wawa warmest we
buphoon you have no idea baby it was a whole 'nother world both for better and for worse but that was the second golden age of hip hop and I hope you live to see a third cuz this mess going on now aint it. The music sucks. I am glad you grew up appreciating the real. I was luck enough to meet the whole clan together (even Ol' Dirty RIP) in 97! The 90's was the door opening to hip hop becoming a business, and not just a hobby or cultural obsession. I'm glad it became profitable, but the flipside of that is the gross commercialization, exploitation, and gentrification of the genre. Nevertheless, black/brown/asian people held it down! We did something right. Wu Tang is for the children!
He's a fantastic live performer. He can steal the show on any song he's on. Shadowboxing by GZA IS Method Man's song. That's how much he crushes guest spots. He has one of the best voices in hip-hop history. He helped put Wu on the map by being the first legit star of the group, and he still is. He crossed over into movies. He was the only feature on Biggie's debut. His stuff with Redman almost pioneered an entire sub-genre.
I breaks it down to da bone gristle,
Ill speakin Scud missile heat seekin,
Johnny Blazing,
nightmares like Wes Craven
💯 word up
Always had mad respect for Method Man the rapper..he has truly endured a life of humble beginnings to an great up and coming actor..hats of to him..💯
Salute the legend M-E-T-H-O-D MAN!
Meth is a great storyteller. and he probably has a thousand amazing stories to tell. should write a book
I freakin love hearing these types of stories about Tupac and Big from back in the say.
When it comes to personal top 5 conversations, Method Man is my #1 of all time and I mean by a mile!!
His verse on "Shame On a N****" is what made me fall in love with hip hop and Wu-tang at 11 yrs old. I've paid attention to his entire career since and I have not heard one verse I didn't like! I can't say that about anybody else. He was king of the features in the 90s, still killin it today, great actor, funny, real af, good role model, cool as a fan. G.O.A.T. no question in my book
Method & Redman need to make a How High 2 movie lol that shit would be dope
Shit another album would be better
Dwayne Pipe movie & album
***** that would be awesome
Dwayne Pipe They're reportedly working on Blackout 3 right now
DMVLeGenD96 I heard that same report 2 years ago haha
Love seeing my childhood heroes still progressing in life,
Me Too!
he was also in RED TAILS
My idea of a true rap legend! The rapper with the best flow, voice, charisma, and still fine as hell.
Hi, beautiful
Absolutely right
Yesssss girl he was my boyfriend in my head since I was a little girl
42 minutes went by quick! that was a dope interview... grew up on Wu-Tang so it's nice to see Method Man still doing his thing.. feel like a proud nephew or some shit hahaha....
Tical is probably one of the most amazing albums i grew up with Thank you Method Man for being so dope!
This interview will never get old... I watch this all the time
This man raised some damn good human beings. Respect.
That Pac story gave me chills for some reason
Meth is the second rapper to explain a story like that regarding pac... Fredro Starr had a story like that as well...
One of the realest to ever do it. Finally hot97 got someone dope to interview. Nobody gives a fuck about Fetty Wap or Amber Rose....more hip-hop legends like Mef great interview
His freestyle in the Luke Cage series was MAD DOPE!!! He did his thing!!
M-E-T-H-O-D MAN!!!
he's soooooo fineee.... still after all these years.
Method man was FO-SHO! my favorite Wu!
Just a super talented Rapper.. his lyrics were rediculous dope and Futuristic in content. Yet always relevant and had history about em too.......
Accurate title, could listen to Method Man speak all day. Best Hot 97 Ever. Weirdly reminds me of Patrice O'Neal in a way.
Seen this interview bout 10 times now
Still one of my favorite rappers to this day. The whole Wu-Tang crew. I wish him nothing but success!
Excellent ! Always good to listen to an interview when the guest feels comfortable. #WuTang
He's so cute and I love his voice.
Method man is a real dude.
#Word
Why did people think he was a cartoon or something? Yeah he is real. A real human being!
This is one of the best interviews I have ever watched. It's good to see respect in a game that has been cut throat lately. Allot of artist do not approach issues with such zeal but need to. ( if you don't know what zeal is look it up) You of the greatest ever in history of Hip Hop and Rap, Meth I support you bro
Realest , Coolest , most Honest interview I've seen in a very long time !
Method Man is legend period .
Refreshing. Im so tired of these rappers portrayin the image that all black men gotta be gangstas to be down. Phony. The wu is the wu. None of those gimmicks. Real requires no explanation
One of the best Method Man interviews. Very informative. They definitely dropped a few hip hop gems. Salute..
Thank you for not using a clickbait title.
Can't forget about "BELLY" Meth.
is this the illest nigga in Nebraska ? is you bout it bout it ahah
Don't forget about The Wire either
Shameek and I’m not sure about the guy from the wire. Is his name cheese ?
Knowledge born,what the science baby!!
Loyal 6x10 He rolls dolo from state to state
This is one of the most entertaining and enlightening interviews I've seen in a while! Meth is too funny! Love him.
He looks like 50 cent and Ice Cube put together
True he do I never thought of that before
+OPTIC23100 damn how you come up with that lmao i see it tho
Huh. Yeah I kinda see it. Way more 50 than Cube tho
@daroyalgeneral: Nah man, Fithy Cube.
No he don't he still looks young. Black don't crack.
when he heard BIG said he was his favorite rapper that made him smile. that was dope! love this!
Love it when you hear an interview with someone so smart and deep into the entertainment industry. you start, next thing you know you have been listening for 2hrs. Be interesting to see who can still drop music just as good as the start in another 20+ years like Wu can. That look at the very end of the video over the comment about BIG was worth watching the whole thing. That one really hit him and you can tell.
Dope interview, Methodman one of the greatest to ever bless the MIC.. love him in motion pictures!! ✌
I love his voice
k den
Sean Strauss
😍
Method man and Queen Latifah smoking the DOOBIES , fucking CLASSIC
rosenburg is interrupting him all the time and breaking his train of thought
He's so corny
Thats bcuz Rosenberg is an agent.
Man I got tears coming down my face from laughing so hard. When Meth said when the cop rolled through and said his name on the loud speaker. He thought it was cool Police know my name and his dude said naw nigga that ain't cool. They know you. You next! Man I can't stop laughing. I grew up on Wu. My man Meth A.K.A Johnny Blaze!!!
see, old hip hop artists were intelligent, well spoken and interesting people. If you interview anybody from that mid-90's era, they're always gonna shed perspective in a thoughtful way. artists today can barely string an interesting sentence together
yeah they grew up....
@@iambs11 hahaha🤣🤣I'm dying...
Im an old head, rappers from back in the day were no different they just grew up like most kids do, but they weren't always that way because ain't no fool worse than an old fool, method man dam near 50yrs old, how he is going to look acting the same way he was acting when he was a teenager, he got kids the same age as alot of these young rappers out here today, he's trying to have positive influence on his children an other kids out here that look up to him.
damn you clearly never seen an interview with method man from the 90s lmao you either a youngin yourself or just ignant and old
With age comes wisdom. They were just as wild and unsettled in their youth.
I have been in love with this man for, literally, 20 years. Since "You're All I Need to Get By" with Mary J dropped when I was 6 years old and I was smitten- he's fineeeee, he's a legendary lyricist, and he's so humble and smart- ahhh, i love him.
How they didn't mention BELLY!!! Duh!! One of the best movies in the 90's!
@vmm12 i got it on bootleg.. And you right why would meth even want to focus on that past, he even mentions not relying on the past with chef
@vmm12 i dont understand why that movie gets such a bad rep, i thought it was great
Is this the illest ***** in Nebraska?!
Damn this interview was 5 years ago. Wow. Time be flying. I swore this just dropped 😂He still look the same. Who cares if you gonna be rappin at 50. You the legend man 👏🏾👏🏾
I love Method man and Redman also, that Method is one fine looking man.
I normally don't watch these interviews all the way through. But I just could'nt stop watching this it was so good love meth legend!!!!
Thank you for putting the title that you did. Otherwise i might've went longer without seeing this interview. Took me back for sure. Good to hear behind the scenes shit from someone who was there.
great interview. it's crazy how much Wu have given to hip hop. Supreme Clientele, Liquid Swords and Cuban Linx are arguably in the top 10 all-time hip hop albums.
He talks about 2pac @ 22:22 for those who care. =)
Peace 1
that was the best interview ive watched all year.. u grew up listening to wu, much love from London (Brixton)
Yassssssss, that interview was definitely amazing from begin to end....I always was a method man fan.
Grimey to limey. Our mistuh mef is 44 and done hung the mic up. NYC legend
Meth is awesome - great interview. Wu-Tang the sickest example of brotherhood out here

Legend!! Respect from Scotland
WOW! What an amazing, upfront, honest interview. 36 Chambers for life. Thanks Mef for keeping $hit honest and real.
I got to meet method man personally And he's one of the most humble people I ever met. I can't wait for his mix tape to drop this summer. Shits going to be fire! Shout out to Staten Island!
This dude is as good as biggie, tupac, andnas he just took the team role like scarface .
better than both of them
Incorrect he's one of the best but not better
+Jordan Gonzalez he did destroy biggie on his verse..even though he stole his flow
He did a track with pac too the all eyes on me album
love Method man, fan since day 1 . Congratulations!!.. (HE MADE IT!!)
I've always loved Meth and this just makes me like him even more as he comes across as humble, mature n smart x
Hip hop facts and history from a hip hop legend.
Meth looks amazing. He has the best stories too. Love his honesty. Seems like he has a lot of integrity 💯
what a brilliant interview ..and what a career ..he's carried himself really well..and you can see he has learned a lot ..
An absolute hiphop LEGEND. Never forgot where he came from and anytime we would see him at the SI Mall or wherever he was always the coolest down to earth dude, respect.
I like how Meth tried to quote Eminem with that XXL shit. Love this man
Cot damn Meth, you make New York look great! Thanks man for bein' so thorough.
dope interview. WU TANG FOREVER
Staying #focused, and staying #solid 💯 💪🏽 👌🏽 😌 🙏🏽 🙌🏾
that explains why the Tical album had such a grimmey sound to it....kinda unclear. just like 36 chambers...but that made them shits more dope to me. especially lookin back on it now
rosenburg needs to drop his mic volume..and pan right far right RIGHT OUTSIDE
Hahahahahaha.. Damn that made me laugh....
lool
Far right? Dont scare rosenberg now!
Weekend
Nice
@15:45 I feel you fam, protective of the crew. that's one aspect I've loved about the Wu...all brothers
Always been my favorite member of Wu
2Pac's & BIG's favorite rapper!!!
TerenceTriple81 F’real? My 2nd favorite
"nothin worse than the land lord bangin on them pipes!!" HAHAHA
Wu -Tang was playing at Hammerstein ballroom. I'm standing at the corner of 8th Ave. and 34th St., and here comes Method Man with a big duffel bag, like he's ready to go on tour or something. Apparently he didn't know backstage entrance was on 35th St. It was like he was going to go in through the front door. He could have even taken the subway! That was fresh, I have respect for him.
Yo method, I just heard your interview on Hot 97 and I gotta say you handled yourself very well, I am HUGE fan of your music/freestyles and I'm not a busta saying you gotta stop what you doin' regardin the family and shit. I feel like you gotta good vibe going when you saying "I got my own thing going on". There ain't nothing stopping you from being the best of the best and I'm never gonna stop listening to your shit. Man I love "LOVE" your recordings, as soon as your at Atlanta I'll be there no doubt. Just do your shit and keep that shit real. nuff love, peace.
