Ford Focus MHEV is part of our commitment to electrification, and one of 14 electrified Ford vehicles to be launched in 2020.
The EcoBoost Hybrid engine uses a small electric motor with a 48-volt battery to improve efficiency.
Instead of driving solely on electric power (like an all-electric vehicle does), the electric motor provides an extra boost to the petrol engine when needed.
Mild Hybrid technology also uses regenerative braking, which charges the battery by capturing energy that’s usually lost when you slow down. This helps increase your fuel economy and reduce emissions.
