Sorry that you got bullied for your diabetes, i have type 1 aswell (actually diagnosed last july so not too long ago) and i understand what you have been through! I also really appretiate you talking about your chronic ilnesses because it makes me feel better about mine. Shortly after my diabtes diagnosis i think my body was so physically and emotionally drained that i developed two other ilnesses, chronic fatigue and pots syndrome. I stopped going to in-person school and have been feeling really shit, your videos have made such an impact on my life atm and i love seeing another teen who is going through what i am. I wish you all the best with your health in the future! I love you, stay safe 💓💓💓💓

you're really strong!! my grandpa also had diabetes and it runs in the family so i can understand how difficult it is to continue living normally especially in the beginning, you're a great inspiration alicia🫶🏼🫶🏼🎀
my dad and sister have type 1 as well and it was really interesting hearing a different perspective of dealing with the condition! it is really admirable that you have been able to adapt to that change in your life at such a late stage in your childhood! i hope you are doing well 🫶🏼

I’m also a teen with type one and it’s super hard I agree it’s hard to find people like you all the time and it’s really sad bc you feel left alone.you have definitely made me feel so much less insecure and scared to show my diabetes thank you for being the person you and I both would have needed :)

Alicia is such a sweetheart, despite this world on its own hating people for absolutely anything or everything it's a smart move to entirely ignore and continue to do what you are doing. I believe you and you believe yourself that's all we need here. I've been on your channel for long enough now so I'm not diagnosed with diabetes but I started following you with all the routine videos and outfit inspo video and then I fell in love with you as a person, I cherished your personality for taking care of yourself so much through highs and lows and got through high school. Not too early but my uncle who is diagnosed with diabetes asked me about taking care of himself he'd never even test his sugar levels and blindly trust pills only and he is type 1 diabetic so thanks to you I educated him a little bit on diabetes made me get a finger pricker which is absolutely insane on how ignorant people can be. I recommend your channel to his daughter and I hope she take care of him well, Beacuse after all it's life :)😊♡ And a Big thank you to you for your hard work on this channel, I wish all the best in life💛 you deserve the world.

I'll talk about my personal experience,
I am also a T1d and i have had diabetes since i was 4 which was 10yrs ago, My parnets literally didn't sleep for days and weeks they took me to every single doctor, when we found out i was diagnosed, they did their best to make me feel okay, as i was so young i could barely remember the symptoms i had, but mom told me that it was the extreme thirst, and my doctor ( which i still check up with ) was a very great supporter, she always used to tell me to embarce it and never feel shy, So, i really feel you alicia and anyone who has the same diagnosis.
-Btw i am trying to get a Dexom , its not an easy step, wish me luck💕💕

I do not watch a lot of long videos but I had to click on this one as a td1 ❤ I was 3 when I got diagnosed during on my first week of school..😅 now Its been 12 years and I have an insulin pump and it’s way better than the pens. I have the lastest Medtronic pump and it’s awesome, especially at night every night my blood sugar stays regular. It’s a very good thing I hope you get it soon.

I drink lucozade for hypos and it works very well they also contain glucose
Your video was just recommended to me and I will definitely start watching your channel! 🤍 I am 19, was diagnosed in late August last year and just like you said, the excessive thirst is the symptom I remember the most. Unfortunately, my mental health declined a lot due to this illness partly because it can feel very lonely being the only t1d in your area :(( Luckily, I am from Germany which means great medical support which I am super thankful for! :)

I haven’t been diagnosed but I have the often tired, sick and going to the bathroom a lot and my water drinking has been going up and my mum just says it’s because I have diagnosed anxiety but it still worry’s me, should I be worrying? (Edit I also have very dry skin on hands)

I think I must have been lucky as I have never been bullied for T1D- I don't even understand how someone could bully a diabetic for that 😅 Like what are they saying? Haha loser because you can't produce insulin? Not to sound flippant at all as it's horrible that so many people have experienced that, but I guess just highlights how ridiculous it is for someone to bully based on a chronic illness!
Que lindo o que a sua mãe fez por vc, afinal mãe carinhosa é assim, ela parece ser muito legal mesmo. E sobre amigos, bom eu não tenho muitos amigos, nunca tive uma melhor amiga, mas não me importo pois passo anos assim acostumada. Mas um dos motivos pelo qual eu não os tenho é porque eu vivia muito isso, era intimidada e humilhada, mas não percebia isso, ou então queria fingir que não ouvi no que estava ouvindo. É muito difícil mesmo, esses "amigos falsos" são os que nós mais achamos que estão do nosso lado. Uma vez me disseram que amigo de verdade é a nossa mãe, que nós podemos desabafar e ela estará lá para nos apoiar e nos ouvir. E nós também devemos fazer o mesmo quando ela pre cisar... E eu tenho 19 quase 20 anos, pois faço esse mês, mas ainda sim faço o que posso pela a minha mãe.

Love this and also sad seeing this. I also have T1D and ended up in the hospital on May2,2024 because of high sugar levels. This was my second DKA😞 I have a Libre 2 as a CGM and want to change to a Dexcom G7.. Does your dexcom work well? If you have an Iphone and iphone has an IOS Update will the Dexcom work and have alarms or not?

Hey! I know you were asking Alicia but here’s my take! I would 100% make the change if it’s within your budget, I also keep my automatic updates off my iphone just in case it doesn’t work with the app but after i’ve checked no one had issues with it I then update :) Hope this helps!
