Africa's Most Secretive Big Cats | Leopards Of Dead Tree Island | Real Wild

- čas přidán 2. 09. 2022
- A dramatic, real-life tale of three leopards plays out in Botswana's Okavango Delta. This is prime territory for Africa's most secretive big cat and although leopards normally avoid contact with each other, one island is the common hunting ground of three individuals as they are drawn together by the changing seasons and the movement of their prey. What unfolds is an in-depth portrayal of their private lives; following the tension, drama and in the end, heart-wrenching tragedy as all three seek one common goal - to dominate one of the Okavango's most prized leopard territories.

The leopard is a beautiful animal. When a mother leaves her baby and realizes that she will not be able to help him and he is doomed - a moment full of drama. Great movie! 👍 Thank you.

When a cute Leopard baby dies like the poor cub with the broken leg is something going to my heart and fills my soul with sadness. I'm loving Leopards and it hurts when
a cub or an adult Leopard dies or get hurted. This is simply the truth that Leopards are closer to my heart as other animals or even human.
Come on bro... I know life can be cruel but seriously, you are part of human kind dont give up on us.. my heart breaks when I see people loving animals more than humans
@@zimbabwe_twinnedwithanfield Bro you're particulary right. I agree.
But a human is able to control everything around which some amazing animals
aren't. It's breaking my heart when Cougars get shooted or the unbelieveable beautiful Amur Leopard or Tiger for selling their fur very expensive. The poor
animals have a right to live like
a human. A human is save when not going to the wild where these animals live.
So the human should let these Lions and Leopards leave alone where they belong.
@@derekb.9177 Big number of human are helpless too!
Something about baboons has always freaked me out
I love big cats. Leopards are amazing in how they can climb trees like it is nothing yet still have the strength with a relatively low body weight to bring a gazelle up in the tree with them. Great photography.
I remember now, I watched this doc years ago. my heart broke for the mother, she lost everything. her cubs, territory and mate. it was painful to watch her leave. It's amazing how much power these big cat docs have years, even decades after being made. i would have loved to know what happened to the mother. the son also.
This show absolutely amazed AND broke me. Those poor cubs. I cried when the first baby didn’t come out, and cried even harder watching her try to encourage her last one to get up and then when that sweet girl finally got free & just dragged her little self under the trees and didn’t get up again, I had to take a ten minute break to compose myself because it really got to me & I’ve watched ALOT of these types of documentaries where at least one baby doesn’t make it but this one really got me. Maybe its because she lost both babies, idk but fuck that was hard. I would have loved to have gotten another ten minutes at the end to hear what happened to Tippa(Teppa?) & where Mozweyo went as well. I know this was filmed in 2010/2011 & I tried looking things up but it all just shows this doc so if somebody knows what every happened to these 3 main cats, I would love to know!
Same feeling, don't know why it wasn't tranquilized , and took to a facility that takes in injured animals in Africa. I know nature's, nature, and it's tuff, cruel place. Survival of the finest, I get that. But cmon.
@@dannyyork1142 I'd have to save the cubbies and take them to a safe place, however it would just be another animal in captivity. It's not natural and animals express severe stress there. It would definitely be hard to not intervene.
Tippa lives as my pet currently. 😊😂
The
Tarzan 2.
Watching how the last cub suffered from all that pain had to be hard to watch for the mother. Hell it was hard for me to watch.
Life goes on and leaves grieves behind! Heart-wrenching nature.
Nature is indifferent
It ended far too soon. I could have watched for 3 hrs straight, easily.
Leopard's are the ultimate Big Cats, Agile, Intelligent and beautiful
Life of cats are always extremely challenging, I've watched multiple documentaries of Lions, Leopards, Cheetahs, Cougars, Lynxes, Snow leopards, Jaguars and Tigers. All of them struggle and often has to deal with sad tragedies like this. Leopards and cougars are the most successful and wide spread cats because of their intermediate size, adaptability in any kind of habitat and vast variety of prey preference.
f ,,,,
All these calamity's that are going on around the world will lead up to a Sunday Law Which will be The Mark Of The Beast, Those that keep Gods seventh day sabbath will be prohibited from buying and sell and persecuted. Jesus is coming are you ready?
I agree with leopards but I haven't watched a documentary about cougars
Thank you for sharing ❤. This was hard to watch the last leopard cub die. She had now lost both of her cubs. Sad. I know it's a hard life that wild animals live, so dangerous for them just to get food. But this is a beautiful documentary that gives us a great chance to see into their lives and their world. Ty
Wow, these leopards can climb a tree faster than a black bear!
It's a Cat they are superior
Yeah, but best climbers among cats are- Clouded leopards, margays and marbled cats. Only primates climb better than them.

Amen!
Her first attempt at climbing caused her death. When she fell it caused her foot to get caught in a twisted way that broke her pelvis.
I was gonna ask you how she died
Let's cherish all those moments of these wonders! I'll never forget watching this back in 2015
I hate that people can't either put that injured cub to a quick humane death or get it help. That was a survivable injury in captivity.
yeah exactly. they are allowed to collar them for their purpose but cannot help a cub? Makes no sense.
Let nature take its course. Their job is to monitor and educate us not disrupt nature and ecological balance
@@Tm-do9hh Yeah, I get that but seeing him drag his poor legs around while monkeys are all gathering is a bit much, for me. Laws would've been broken that day had I been there.
Yes that is what I was thinking, did the film maker get the cub to a vet somehow?
@@starfarah3572 The people who film these docs spend days at a time, basically tucked away in a hide and are about a kilometer away.
Besides the fact that they are probably not equipped to launch a rescue mission, they would put themselves at serious risk if they tried to get at an injured animal.
Not just by exposing themselves, but by trying to get between wild animals and something they view as a meal. It's a bummer for sure but these people are usually out there alone. Intervening just ain't an option.
So tragic about the cubs. I cried watching this.
What happen
Me too, and I'm an old arshole. Broke my heart to watch.
@@vettle645 Her male cub was eaten by a female lion, and her female cub died after falling out of a tree.
Beautiful yet heartbreaking documentary. Thank you.

The Leopard.
The best bridge between despair and hope is a good night's sleep. Thank you for sharing.
Damn good the camera work and thought narrative is top notch
Indeed the leopard knows all the jungle secrets. It's always sneaky
Leopards are the smallest of the four big cats, But they are also the most daring and versatile.
Heartbreaking the see the cub drag its body along
The best Leopard video ever!! Thanks
Glad you liked it!
You should watch the documentary of the legendary male leopard of Mala-mala called Tjololo.
So heartbreaking. Seeing him drag his back half and I lost it.
@DAYRON APIMP Don't assume what my opinions are on a completely unrelated topic. How the hell did you fall off track so badly?
@DAYRON APIMP How did I what?

Leopards. Africa's Kings and Queens of the jungle❤️👑
Leopards are very beautiful but also very pitiful. Survival in the wild world is difficult. Thank you for the video
Watching her lose the first cub was sad but the way the second one went was just heart wrenching 💔 😢 Africa is a harsh place... beautiful but difficult to watch sometimes

Absolutely beautiful very soothing and relaxing. Have a nice day my friend
Watching the calf get swallowed whole had to be painful for the mother to watch 🥺
Love these video's thanks for uploading
Beautiful documentary. And even if some parts were very hard to watch it is exactly what nature documentaries should be. Show real nature. There are way too many documentaries that show only the pretty side. Ah, all animals are peaceful and everyone are friends with each other. Leopard jumps on the prey as just playing, then camera cuts away and you think it went to a bowl of dry food and everyone is happy...
Oh, no. It is so sad and heartbreaking the cub is died.❤R.I.P.
A truly vivid video. You are a wonderful creator.

How could you not be in awe of big cats? Even if you don't love them, you must respect them! Such fantastic creatures, beasts that display such fluid grace but all have as much personality as a house-cat... (which, to be clear I prefer dogs). I'm fascinated by big felines and I love watching them!
⁰
I love them too! They’re amazing 😻 🐆 🦁 🐅
Dogs are very predictable in comparison to domestic cats. When I was younger, I was a dog lover but now in my mid 30s, I prefer cats
Thank you for sharing!..
This is so awesome to get to see this ❤
2:09 I like how the narrator basically calls that leopard a freeloading bum
I really enjoyed this video, Thank you for sharing, but sure was sad for the cubs, though.
If one where to find one of these injured cubs ,could they try to bring it to a vet, seeing how rare they are?
This made me cry at the end. I couldn't believe it
Unexpectedly traumatising.

In the animal world it seems cruel when the mothers chase off their own, but it's actually a blessing for the young ones, fending for themselves would be very hard if they're babied for too long.

Life has no balance, so is Nature 😢
Very sad for the cub.
Given how endangered they are why don't the film crew bloody help!!!
Really good
Really good.
Map suive yo kounyea se yo ki dwe se pa ressou a ki dwe vwe.
I'm sorry , but I cannot see why the film crew could not have intervened by taking possession of the last cub with it's broken leg, snagged on the tree.
I don’t know what the unwritten rules are nowadays but in general documentary filmmakers aren’t supposed to intercede and help the animals or people they’re documenting because it often defeats the purpose.
If they had helped the Cheetah the documentary probably wouldn’t have the same emotional impact on people, and maybe it helps the cheetah’s more overall for that one cub to die because people having an emotional reaction might lead to them wanting to help or donate money to protect them.
Nature is just brutal anyways and we shouldn’t hide that or edit in real time by interfering, unfortunately young animals are almost always the best targets for predators so there’s a bit of survivor bias always watching the young die.
I used to film ducklings sometimes and more than half of them would usually get eaten by hawks, which was a bit sad at the time, but that’s just how nature is and you just root for the ones that survive to adulthood and realize half the babies are destined to be food for other animals.
I think the cub had a broken pelvis so there isn’t much they could do unless they were an animal surgeon and even then I don’t think they could save it.
Also I don’t think it was easy for the filmmakers to watch, it’s easy to get attached to animals after so many days filming but they knew the cubs fate was sealed and all they can do is document what happened.
I hate it when people say things like this. You can’t be that oblivious. Humans aren’t to interfere with wildlife, we’ve done enough damage to their ecosystem.
This was so sad to watch. Broke my wicked heart to see that poor kitty with it's leg stuck and a broken pelvis.
This is a head for anyone to watch the young animals get injured
why can we help the little one. The camera man you are
Right there you can help.
I hate hyenas!! Poor cubs 😭

Heartbreaking poor leopardcubs & mum
Yet another documentary, where excellent narration and beautiful footage covers up (partly) fictitious narratives. For shame.
Just show us what happens, don't overdramatize. I promise we won't be disappointed.
That second cub was very hard to watch. I thought the mother was returning to see her cub got a kill. Jeez
No offense but if there were just 3 Leopards in that area where did the NEW FEMALE come from?! And what happened to the 'young male' that wouldn't leave his Mother's territory?
the new female came from outside the territory. the island is not cut off from the rest of the continent. hopefully the grown son moved on and found his own territory.
