Ever wonder what would happen if Frank Horrigan, Fallout 2's endboss, came along to rampage through Boston? Well wonder no more, because that's exactly what we'll find out today in part 1/2 of: Can you beat fallout 4 as Frank Horrigan.
Use of A.I.:
Frank Horrigan was voiced by Michael Dorn who gave a great performance, after which some epic voice modification was done. I made use of A.I. to mimic his voice as best as possible for fun; it got pretty close, but imperfections are audiable when listening carefully, since contrary to normal voices that are easy to mimic, Frank's voice has a multitude of complexities (because of the voice modifications).
Rules:
-Frank's height is severely increaded by using console commands: player.setscale 1.4 (any larger and you start running into problems)
-Frank only uses big-boy weapons, but will restrict himself to miniguns, gatling lasers and his fists!
-His objectives were to delete all factions from Boston, clear vaults and secure military sites where he can find them.
Addendum:
I am aware of the existence of America Rising it is a very long mod from what I gathered, and with me wanting to "visit" vaults and such, it would just have been too much for 2 videos.

I love how Frank's only weakness in this run is that is literally so strong and buff that he has trouble fitting through doors and tight spaces. He can absolutely destroy any who cross his path with his minigun or just crush his enemy's skulls with his fists, yet his biggest struggle is that humanity wasn't ready for this unit of a super mutant and didn't make doors or spaces big enough for him.

@@mrbruh-behemoths are like 7 meters while frank is like 3.6-3.7 meter. I still think he classify as behemoth since he is too big for a normal super mutant and his size might keep increasing.
It's funny how that cult leader felt at ease threatening Frank when a Volcan from A-10 was poked in his face.

The M61 Vulcan Minigun was not mounted to the A-10. The A-10 was mounted around the GAU-8 30mm Gatling Cannon manufactured by General Electrics.
The M61 is mounted to aircraft such as the F-16 Viper and F-15 Eagle among other.
I like that this is more just an entertaining video rather than a challenge
@@ThebigZ1353 Yeah, the most challenging part was getting ammo, the tedium of which I didn’t really want to convey, since the fun stuff was tearing through places with this MONSTER
For any future Enclave related runs you should use the America Rising 2 Mod which adds a playable enclave faction you can beat the game with and is integrated into the main story
@@SargentDornansOwnRanger-uz6lc I went back and forth on it for a while, but decided against it; the mod seems pretty long and with the vault visiting business I don’t think it would’ve fit into 2 videos, and I didn’t want to break the run up into even more parts. America rising will indeed just have to get its own run some other time; but let’s be honest, does Frank really need any help purging Boston? I don’t effing think so XD. But thanks for telling me, there was a good chance I didn’t know it existed
Cannonicly frank has all 10 specials.
And cybernetics. He's literally the only fallout antagonists that could beat the living breaks out of the rest with no issue if you think about it...

@@kirbythecat1 besides a few quality of life things, there was really only 1 mod: “Minigun improvements” from the ingame mod manager. His size was increased with console commands (player.setscale 1.4). Any larger than 1.4 and things start getting wonky. His voice was painstakingly done in post, where a finicky AF AI was let loose on some of my voicelines

At that size, it isn't a minigun anymore, but the actual "gun" aka the M61A1 20mm Vulcan. Wish the mod had it shooting 20x106mm instead. ❤

@@Ben_Boos I love that old clip and it is surprisingly close to reality: 20mm runs about $30 per training round on the commercial market (TP-T, steel body, aluminum windscreen, lead core, tracer element). M61A1 shoots 4500rpm. That's 75 rounds per second. So, 30 times 75 times 12... About $27,000 for just training ammunition. Swap that for HEI and DU rounds and you've got 200k easy. 😎

Fun fact: Frank isn't actually using his "bare hands" where he... deals with... the V-13 Deathclaw. He's actually using the item known as the Boss Knife. He also uses it on the Chosen One should he run out of ammo for the Boss Minigun.

@@sunshine_tidings6983 I used an A.I. program, I think it turned out pretty well…though I needed to record the voicelines Sooooo many times to have the lines sound as good as possible. Frank’s voice has many layers to it that made the program…unreliable…to say the least XD

@@BarrytheBT-5 Yes, I had to record voice lines (the same one many times), run them through a finicky af ai program (because Frank’s voice is very complex compared to a normal voice so things broke all the time) and then put them in the video under the relevant footage; slowing down segments when needed. Safe to say: it took a bit of effort XD

@@Ben_Boos there are a couple CZcamsrs who done a challenge we’re every time they die they get bigger and it breaks the game pretty hard at a certain point.
you should’ve downloaded America Rising 2! (it’s a mod that adds the enclave to a game, 24 quests, just finished it today, ITS AWESOME! but due to nate not having enough voice lines, some of the dialogue sounds weird)

@@ludovicogaggio5702 none! I used normal x-01, with military paint on the arms, no paint on the rest (gotta be above mkI or it looks like rust) and the headlamp was upgraded to red (x-01’s headlamp are the eyes). His size was enhanced by means of console commands (player.setscale 1.4)
