Boxing judges have always been notoriously corrupt and biased, that was one of the reasons I abandoned boxing in the early 2000s, mostly just bc I started liking MMA more, but all the political BS alienated me too. Boxing is all about who you know. If you're one of the "it" guys, all you have to do is not get stopped and the fight is yours. And a lot of them know that too, and fight accordingly. Nothing more infuriating than watching someone dance around in circles and throw a jab every 30 seconds, because he knows he's in tight with the judges.
One judge scored it for Fury, either he was honest with himself or just there to give a "correct" scorecard so it doesn't look TOO bad...

Let’s be honest. At worst ngannou won by 1 point, with 6 round to 4, I scored it as such but by two points for Francis. But I told my buddy who is hardcore about all combat sports before the fight, “bro, Francis could knockdown Tyson 10 round in a row and Tyson will win the fight. “ Francis is the first mma guy I’ve seen that looked like he fit in boxing just as he did in mma.

How can you exclude Islam Makhachev? He himself has said that he was wild and reckless early in his career, looking to swing for the fences and ragdoll them from the start. After his loss to Adriano, he completely changed his approach and is now considered one of the best strikers in the UFC and damn near un-hittable.
Islam's striking has gotten much better and looked better each of his last few fights, but one of the best strikers in the UFC is a stretch and Volk hit him plenty his first fight.

@@RaoVenu Maybe I'm wrong and I will admit his striking is much better than I originally thought it was (before the first volk fight) but I still don't think he's one of the best strikers in the UFC, one flash KO doesn't change that. Trust me, I'm not hating, the dude is legit and has done a good job (imo) of separating his game from Khabib's (Khabib really only had a jab, Islam's striking is much more refined) so he can be his own fighter. I'd love to see him get in a stand up war with Gaejthe or someone similar, then I think I'd have a better gauge on where his striking is. His striking is very good, I just don't know if it's elite. Time will tell.

Makhachev vs Martins. That KO loss taught Islam that he didn’t have Khabib’s granite chin, so he leveled up his striking and became nearly impossible to hit. 61% striking defense and 1.27 SApM is ridiculous

I do think that Islam's only loss did in fact cause him to improve his striking to the next level, but at the same time I think it's very situational what happened. I know Khabib has a good chin but just like everyone else he is human, and if he gets hit with a proper strike to the face he will also crumble. IF Khabib really does not have the same level of striking defense as Islam and relies on his so-called granite chin, then it's simply a matter of Khabib never having fought enough for him to get rocked bad by that one strike that leads to a loss.

This list is missing Leon Edwards. When he first fought Usman, he was absolutely dominated on the ground. Making him realise he needs to build a ground game, and not only developed it, but defeated one of the greatest wrestlers and p4p fighters with GRAPPLING. I mean he KO'd Usman but Usman did not expect Leon to be so much better at grappling later
I remember when Tommy from MMA on point fought Connor McGregor and Anderson Silva in a handicap match and he came out victorious, absolute beast
