Im pretty sure you got everything in your van, i would have had to go for that lock and come back, even though i carry many diferent locks im always missing others, that feeling when u got what you need and its just take out and put in the new one is priceless. As always thanks for your videos.
We do carry alot of stock, the bad side is it puts a lot of weight in your van, it all adds up. Im guessing 200 kg of stock easy, not including keys
You're working over a drain cover with supreme confidence. Don't drop any tiny screws.

I lost track of how many times I have gone out to find the dead bolt throw not going in deep enough to engauge the internal latch where you can just take a small screw driver and push the dead bolt retracted. I like the use of long screws and a beefy strike.

You have got to get one, its changed my life, In the old days we use a file or power file, but it took time, the router is awesome, but dangerous :O , must wear safety gear, I use a face shield and earmuffs and still get covered in crumbs, but its worth it, super quick

The lock function here is single action escape?
Outside: open by key.
Inside: open by handle.
Can the striker be adjusted in if the door and frame gap in too small
I always carry an air wedge in my fitting bag. Pop it under the door to stop it swinging around.

Makes you wonder why this was done. Do you think it was done to comprise the door or the lock cylinder & key ?

What was wrong with the original strike plate? I couldn't quite see
it was old, if you are paying for a new lock, it looks like you cut corners if you don't swap the strike, might as well put a new one in, as I still have to check it and adjust it to work well

The face plate mystery. I have a theory. The face plate was probably loosened over time due to the multiple door closures and possibly infringed on the bolt extending out of the body. An office worker.....probably a soy boy type( you know the type. Wears more moisturiser than his girlfriend/boyfriend) from Human Resources noticed it and decided if he took it off that would solve the problem. Obviously made it unfunctional, hence your appearance. Either that or some thieving bastard has knicked it and tried his luck at selling it to Cash Converters. lol. I am worried about ya mate. Knee pad? You New South Welshmen are getting a bit soft. lol. Onya Dr:-)
lol you could be right with the face plate , I know Iknow,I feel a little simple using one... but it's just so much easy on the knees
