Again, you led me to the solution I needed to make my site more dynamic, organized and simpler to maintain. Thanks again Paul! You truly are best when it comes to everything Wordpress.
You can't even believe how happy I am that I found this video!!! I was struggling so much :'( and even botched my whole website because of it.
Followed every step of your tutorials (ACF and this one) and it WORKS... so grateful!!!
And oh, this is the best guide I have seen so far. I saw a lot of manuals that didn't fix the problems I had on the site.
And after seeing this guide I managed to sort out what I had been trying to arrange for so long.
You helped me a lot thank you so much you champion!
Awesome to hear this helped you out :0)
Fantastic - very well explained and structured. I appreciate the pace and your approach - I can literally follow you step by step as I build my projects. Thank you for taking the time to do these.
Thanks a lot! For me this - along with pt. 1 - has been a very instructive and considerate introduction to this topic which finally makes me want to actually use the features ACF and its - sort of - companion plugins offer. I really like the way you explain the various aspects and address possible issues in a well structured way so almost any WP user will be able to understand - even if all used plugins taken together make it quite a bit to take in as a whole.
I've been searching the solution for so long, I'm so happy to found your tutorial, thank you so much
By far the best tutorials on CZcams for Wordpress. This is what we needed. Thank you!
I've looked for how to do the items in this video for over 4 days! Thank you for the best video on custom post types, templates and menus! Guess I didn't have the correct search terms. What led me to knowing this video included how to add these templates to the Navigation menu was Guigui's comment showing the time in the video for finding how to place into the menu (24:00)!!
This was the best wordpress tutorials i’ve ever watched in my life, hats off to your sir ..
I could hug you right now.. :-) That was a great video that helped me understand the links between CPT, Elementor and the different Display options in theme builder!!!
I hadn't realised that the View Options in Elementor Editor, could actually be used to connect a loop to an archive or single cpt.
You made that nice and clear so thank you Paul!!
This was EXACTLY what I was looking for. I just didn't know what to call it. Thank you!
Awesome explanation. I would never have found all the places on where to set what without your videos. Thank you so much.
I was looking for ways to add custom post type for my new site and found your video. Really glad I found it and I continue watching like almost 20 videos of yours and got a lot of knowledge of how to built the site I want using elementor and the plugins you recommend. Thank you very much.
Great to hear! 😀
This has been SUPREMELY helpful. Thank you so much!!
This is the tutorial I have been looking for a week now. Thanks for the very Welsh information. :)
Dude, you are the best, thank God this video exists
This is still one of my favourite videos because it introduced me to the world of Ele Custom Loops!! Thanks Paul!
My pleasure Ana. 😁
Your tutorials are great! Thanks a lot! I am developing great things because of you!
Thanks! Lots of aha and wow moments... 👏 👏 👏 Cant wait to implement this on the website I'm working on...
Holy Christ, this tut just made my morning, thanks so much i now understand custom posts and i don't think i will ever need to purchase themes with custom post types just to create a website, thank you so much!
My work here is done. Lol. 😁🤘
This was so well done - I actually understood what you were talking about!
Paul...thank you thank you thank you!!!! You just helped me tremendously on our new website! Appreciate your thoroughness and helpfulness!
Awesome video Paul:) Continue do videos about dynamic data, you are the best!
Lots and lots more on the cards for sure Pelle :0)
Thanks Paul, great video again!
I can't explain my happiness after spotting this video. _Thank you Paul sir._ 🙏
You explain in such a clear way! Have you perhaps done also a video for adding checklists to an archive page?
Man, that's a serious sharing you are offering here ! Thank you sooo much !
It was a big help, thanks a lot 🙏🙏👍
I love your training style 👍
wow thank you very much for this well explained mind blowing tutorial videos, you just made my work way easier and much professional... Chapeau
Glad I subscribed to this channel ☝🏽
This is what I was exactly looking for. I have searched : cptui + ele custom skin and this video comes to the 1st.
OH my God.! You are really awesome Dude.
I appreciate your work you are doing great job.
Hi Paul, great video as always. Do you have a quick/good way to edit the permalink structure for custom post types and taxonomies. I can't seem to set them up the way I want and find myself creating redirects instead?
You are amazing! Thank you so much for your content and its quality!
Thank you much for this powerful tutorial. ❤❤❤
Thank you for great and informative video Paul. I did the same as you showed in the video, but I'm having issues with displaying custom post types with Ele Custom Skin.
I have a CPT Project and I've set Edit Archive Posts > Layout > Skin > Custom and Edit Archive Posts > Layout > Select a default template > Default Project Loop.
However, my Archive Posts is only showing only one CPT instead all of them.
Thank you so much - this is a fantastic tutorial
Thank you Paul!
this is great!!
This is a GREAT tutorial. Thanks. Wondering if I can use a loop instead of WC related products in a single product page - the problem is - I want to exclude the current product. Any idea how to do that?
Brilliant Paul, thanks!
You deserve a drink, mate! Cheers from Singapore.
Thanks Paul - amazing video... also love Trespass - still keeping an eye on those t-shirts. Very quick question please - do you know of a way in which I can display some global content (text/files/images/videos) for all members I register to a wordpress site, but also show specific content to select members? They would just login and see the info. I've been struggling having googled but cant seem to find a straight forward solution to what I imagine is a very common problem. Many thanks as always!
Didn't know this el custom skin
It's a game changer
Thanks a lot !!! :)
my pleasure. It's a great plugin and opens up a lot of potential.
Great video! When implementing we noticed this works great for Elementor Posts, but other plugins like ElementorKit post widgets do not pickup the custom types.
It would be great if you could also do a video on how ElementsKit post plugins could be modified to use the custom post types, if that's in the scope of your wheelhouse!
Hi Paul, thanks to your vids Ive gone from knowing nothing to building an awesome website in weeks. You are amazing. I was wondering if could help...do you know if its possible to be able to add featured images to the new taxonomies in CPTUI? In your example, if someone wanted to search vehicles by manufacturer for example could you create posts that would have the logos attached and they could click through? Thank you, Damian
Thanks Paul, really found this useful !
Great to hear that. 😁👍
I like this tutorial. Its a very good example.
Would you recommend different custom post types for content in a different medium... say, an article linked out vs media embedded? I'm building a copywriting portfolio and wondered if these distinguishing layouts could be achieved within the same "custom post type" - current as 'Copy' post group in my dashboard menu - if I then assigned one taxonomy to one custom post type, then another to another (dedicated CPTs each for article, social post, video, etc... - but only differentiated at the taxonomy level). Note that I am also using taxonomies to differentiate vertical / subject (ie: wellness, blog, entertainment, mindset). The taxonomies sound like a great use for this "genre" differentiating, but I'm wondering if the taxonomies are the wrong way to go about differentiating visual presentation. Like, if you wanted the Audi posts to visually look different than the Ford posts... btw thanks, you are my internet hero right now for all these tuts!
Hi, I know this is an old video but I am just starting web design through WP. I was wondering if you have a video on how to apply the taxonomy options to the archive page so viewers can see the archive and select what taxonomy appears, like if somebody wanted to only see red-colored vehicles on the view vehicles archive page. Thank you for your videos they have been great!
Thank you so much for this tutorial!!!
Fantastic! Thank you man
Great! Quick and very useful!
Yet another excellent video from WPTuts!
Question: I don't understand why Custom Fields and Custom Types are not recognized by PODS unless PODS originally created it , and CPT UI doesn't see custom fields or types created by PODS. And none of them recognize CPTs or ACFs created by WooCommerce. They're all using Wordpress base tables, aren't they?
Really good one, and better one of all here. Just a query though, what if I also want tags along with Manufactures(categories)?
nice work Paul!
@WPTuts - these videos are super useful. Question: How could I get the post template created to open as a modal popup (instead of taking you to the post page) when you click on the post box on the archive page?
Great! Loved it.
Is there a way to filter those Custom post?
I mean adding a filter menu to the page that filter the posts through the custom post I've created?
24:00 It shows how to add custom post type archive page to frontend menu.
6:25 Activate archive option to get an archive page for your custom post type.
Thanks a lot!! I missed this and been searching why my archive isn't listing in the elementor condition.
Paul, I'm extremely grateful for all the tutorials you're publishing here. Incredible value!
Here's a question: can you display the posts in a specified order, based on a custom field? Let's say the field is a date picker, and you want to create a loop that displays the custom post types in a chronological order by the custom field. Is that possible?
That's a GREAT question! Did you ever figure this out? If not, I sure hope you get an answer!
@@rondion9141, I can't remember what I did for that particular project, but I'm almost sure I went with Jet Engine - super easy to set up the ordering by a date custom field. Thanks for following up on this.
Btw, your tutorials are MasterClass level, Paul! I'm still surprised I'm not paying for this :))
omg tut. thanks for such a priceless content
Hello, thank you very much for this tutorial, it has helped me a lot. I ask you, how can I show a custom meta box? I have created it from the funtion.php and installed metabox integrator but the metabox option does not appear in the single page of archive
So good, thank you!
hello, thank you very much for this explanatory video. Very well explained. I have now created a template and user-defined fields, is it somehow possible to import existing data in the form of csv files? greetings from Turkey
A good video as always.
Thank you so much for your help...
Hi, thank you for the video. Do we have to write the url twice? (in the slug field and in the menu field) By changing the url we have to change every time 2 places
New Subscriber and have just tapped the bell icon. Having watched this and your previous ACF video my heads about to explode LOL. Great tuts, keep it up. Love the way you explain things. Still trying to get my head around the whole ACF thing. But still my brain keeps asking why do i need them when i have categories?
Categories are great but can get very disorganised quickly if you have more complex requirements. ACF and CPT offer you easy flexibility of grouping, expanding and structuring your website requirements.
There are many cases where using a tool like ACF and CPT UI are overkill. As you get more accustomed to working with these tools, you'll get to grips with when to use them and when to simply stick with the default WordPress tools. :)
@@WPTuts Cheers Paul for the very fast response.
Well I am going to give them a go and ignore categories for now, even if it is 'overkill', as it will help what you have just taught me sink in.
Thanks again.
@@paulmetcalfe6855 my pleasure :0)
Feel free to join the WPCrue Facebook group where there are plenty of like-minded people exploring the power of tools like ACF. It's a great sounding board and support group. facebook.com/groups/wpcrue
Hi great video! I want to ask, is there way I can list data colect from forms on my page and that data to be collect to different post types?
Hi great tutorial. How to handle categories with custom post type. When I make an category in a custom post type and set an archive for the category the posts wont show...
Thank you Paul. How can i add comparison tool to compare between 2 or 4 or cars or Custom post type ? how to add a filter types to show latest added vehicle in archive page?
thanks ! awesome content
Very nice job, as usual!
One question.
How can I have an archive page with the possibility to ask to show all cars, or only a specific manufacture's vehicles, instead?
Thank you so much. :))
Hi Valerio, Did you get the solution? If yes, can you please shae the solution here?
Im confused because apart from "loop" option in the theme builder, there is also "custom grid" option. That is probably an update and it's not in this video. What's the difference?
When i do apply and preview, the thing just comes as a grey box in my editor, I cant see the posts.
Can you do a loop for a certain manufacturer? like display only specific group by categories
Really enjoy your tutorials. Thanks so much
I have a question though. At 30:34 you show a vehicle and say " there's our vehicle already inserted there for us", except I don't know how to get there!
I notice that your Elementor editor says "edit featured image".. So please tell me how to get to that?
Excellent set of tutorials! I haven't finished them but am facing a problem. Could you help me to understand hierarchical post types, though? I have parent CPT "Books" with children "Adventure", "How To", and "Graphic Novel". I see the hierarchical setting in the type settings but don't see how to connect. Each of the children has different ACF and templates and I would like to show them on a "Books" archive page. TIA for your help.
Great tutorial - Thanks!
However, 2 questions - If (using your example) you wish to display an Archive page that contains 3 different sections - 1 for Audi, one for Ford, etc - how tell the Archive widget to only grab Audi in 1st section, then Ford in next, etc.???
Also, my application would display better using the Masonic posts layout instead of Cards, so again how to do? (Did not see a Dynamic pull in editor?) Thanks!
Thanks you so much Paul,
Is there a way that I can set the buttons to individually redirect to an external link instead to the blog post?
hello!!! what about taxonomies? how can I add the taxonomies field in the frontend for people to select and is automatically added to the search filters on the site?
I know that you can choose taxonomy in ACF, but it does not appear in ELEMENTOR to make dynamic fields, when it is taxonomy!
What can be done ?
Thank you once more! (i think i will say that many many times)
when i save the custom post type, it saves as auto draft, erasing the title and featured image. the custom post type supports both. how do i fix that?
I am trying to separate two blogs, a videos page, and a podcast page with custom post types. How to I move items already in those posts to the custom post type that I've created?
So good 👍🏾
hi paul ,thank you i need o know . if we have pro version is it needed cpt ui or is it just an option dynamic for those who use free elementor ??????
for ACF it is obvious is a must,
thank you
why did I just find this video now T-T Thanks!!!
Thank you so much!
Hey,
I don't quite get the explanation of "Hierarchical" in CPT UI settings. Would you please explain? Thanks!
I was searching for a method to build a dynamic portfolio, where every project will have his own page and the featured image of the post should be shown inside different gallerys depends on which texonomy it has. Is that possible? I can't use archive for that tho. What do i use to get the wanted result? Couldn't find any youtube video, which makes a portfolio gallery with acf.
Thank you for the great videos... What is your favorite; Pods, ACF or JetEngine? Any recommendations on things to consider when choosing one?
I can't say I have a favorite. I tend to go between ACF and JetEngine depending on the project requirements. Both have a lot in common but have some smaller features that can be useful depending on the project requirements.
I'd suggest getting familiar with ACF and PODS as they are both free and see how you get on with them and this will give you a great understanding of which would be right for different projects. :0)
@@WPTuts Is price the main consideration here or the flexibility / features each provides? I'm considering Toolset, but with your videos, most use cases can be achieved with JetEngine/ACF. Is there something you think they do better than Toolset?
That looks good. But how can I loop the categories/taxonomies in a page and when a user clicks on the taxonomy, the user is redirected to the particular category's listing page.
I followed this step by step all the way but once I got to 30:29. Trying to use the dynamic data for the Loop. I got nothing showing up once I pressed "Apply & Preview". I don't know what I did wrong :(
How do we display ACF field in the archive page itself? For ex: an external link.
Do you know how to create an archive inside an archive too? for example, I have a vehicles archive then in one of those posts is honda then when I click honda there will be another archive of different types of honda cars.
Hi, great video. One question: would you prefer jet engine or cpt ui for make a website with custom post types, archive listings etc?
I'd probably opt for CPT UI and ACF as it doesn't rely on Elementor so it is more future proof than JetEngine. :)
I am up to 30:05, when I select 'Elementor Canvas', my preview still has the header and footer.
And then at 30:32, I set the Dynamic Content as 'Vehicle' but my feature image doesn't load like yours. If anything, it looks like you have edited between those steps.
Edit 1: None of the data is pulling through.
Edit 2: Okay, when I applied the Loop to the Archive, it seemed to work now. Weird how none of that was working in the template.
thank you for excellent video. I've done exactly what is shown in the video. I got success too. My another query is how can I have single archive page template designed through elementor (i have elementor pro) which can be used to show different categories when clicked. Say If I click on ford, archive page shows up all posts under Ford category and same for benz, mercedes.. etc.
Did you try to use the Elementor portfolio widget for that?
Hi, How would you go about designing a user frontend profile page that will be visible to public eye, using only Elementor, ACF and CPT UI if that is possible would you kindly make a Tutorial how to please. I was thinking to display small details like Name, user Avatar, header Banner and post type created by the current user..
Hey Paul, I do have a question. I want to build an All In One Delivery Service website, but I need to create an Admin panel that monitors all activities from the Merchant to the Drivers. Can CPT & ACF accomplish this ?
