Skyrim: How to Make An OVERPOWERED Necromancer Build

- A how to guide on the set up of an OP Necromancer mage early on legendary difficulty. Played on the most recent version of Skyrim the special edition, no mods were installed during the playthrough.
This build is an Necromancer based mage character with a focus on using Conjuration and Destruction spells such as Dead Thrall and Ice Spike as well as the Ritual Stone the ultimate undead army.
Soul Trap will not work as shown in the video if playing on the unofficial skyrim patch.

Ring of Minor Conjuration: Conjuration Spells cost 12% less to cast
Necromancer Amulet: +50 Magicka, Conjuration Spells costs 25% less to Cast, Health and Stamina Regen 75% slower.
Necromancer Robes: Magicka Regenerates 75% Faster
Aetherial Crown: Retains the last Standing Stone ability you held, granting you its effects in addition to those of your current stone.
Staff of Revenants: Reanimate a powerful dead body to fight for you for 120 seconds.

Your character name kinda sounds like something the spiffing brit did and he also worked with the strange amulet but excluding the weird coincidence it's a great video (edit: you also used the same exploit... pretty sure you copied so you should probably credit next time)

All the other "Necromancy" Builds are just conjuration builds that can raise a few zombies. This? Now THIS is a real necromancy build.

Try ordinator and run up the bone lord tree in conjuration.and level the bejesus out of magica.this mod let's you collect bones and create skeleton minions that won't die,1for Every 50 base magica.and they are pretty beast compared to vanilla skeletons.and don't count towards your summons count or follower count.that is necromancy lol.i been testing it and have not yet found a limit to how many you can have.all ya need is an xbox one.its not a pc specific mod,it's completely free,and fun as fuck.i would suggest getting the associated magic spell overhauls with it,and the patches,there are three,I use 2.adds some 500 spells and overhauls what was there.conjuration becomes something you can't get tired of fast cuase how many things you can conjure.many boost necromage builds considerably.if you gota borrow your buddies xbox lol.try it out lol.

@@Kitty-xj6gq dude the snow elves are near extinct. Gelebor and vyrthur are the last remaining falmer left in the fourth era. The falmer you see in dwemer ruins and what not are not snow elves anymore, they devolved into feral creatures.

tbh, i prefer the guy in markarth over mudcrabs, since you can grab the necklace and level conjuration immediately after
I know I'm late to the party, but you can just cast soul trap on a corpse to speed level contain?

@@ryanscottnix I made a new character and just finished leveling conjuration to 100 this way.. on a mudcrab of course.. crazy, I never knew you could do this and I've been playing this on and off since 2011

You can cast spell on your horse. You can get it free by giving vegetables to Katla in her farm near Solitude or just buy it, find/trade 1000 gold is easy in skyrim.
The Unofficial Patches spoil all the fun.
It fixes bugs that you *_might_* run into, while removing amazing glitches that *_will_* happen 100% of the time.

but there is a patch to unpacht only that part and another for the hidden chests if you want :)
@goggles789 o.o i didnt now but i dont have any problems with that, I'm playing with these for several months (I mean the one for cast soul trap on dead guys and hidden chest) maybe you had an error in the installation of mods that is kind of crafty

I could never decide between Ralof and hadvar, but you changed everything. Glad to see so much exposure for hadvar

I always pick Hadvar because his uncle will let you take a bunch of armor and ingots from around the forge for some more quick cash.
Bathesda should’ve made it so summoning allowed for super powerful allies and necromancy allowed you to make large groups of undead.

I've played Skyrim a bunch and had been struggling to come up with unique builds, your channel really shows that there's a lot more possibilities than I realized.

Love the video and build! Fun note though: As long as you don't have the Dark Souls perk, you can use Ahzidals Ring of Necromancy with the Aetherial Crown (Ritual Stone) to create an infinite army of ice bombers.
Very true, kinda leaves you defenceless though and the damage on legendary isn't that high

I know it's really weird to comment twice on the same video, but man this video is great, much like your other videos. Normally, the build vids I watch only tells what items to get, but yours are much different, cut right to the chase, no roleplay elements that are impossible to follow AND it shows how to progress through the build. Moreover, I feel this was very well executed and the ad placements was spot on. The ads only appear when the screen is fading to darkness, which is a detail I absolutely LOVE. Thank you for making these videos, I know that you don't need to hear this from a stranger on the internet but, I appreciate all your efforts.

Love this build! I just started one, and she's doing well. :) A few changes I did:
- Instead of a mud crab, I killed Anise, dragged her next to her bed, and used soul trap on her to get to 100 conjuration. Sleeping in the bed one hour is better than waiting one hour, as a 5% XP bonus gets added. (You showed this trick in a more recent video).
- Out of guilt, I added Anise as a dead thrall. She dies all the time, but I don't have the heart to let her go after letting me get to 100 conjuration on her AND using her cabin for alchemy and enchantment. She sometimes summons a frost astronach until she dies which is useful.
- I didn't get the skulls, dog meat, and other stuff for a Daedric dead thrall. I used the master vampire from the Vigiliants stronghold. He has fun (creepy!) dialog when you have him around. =8O
- Once I got the Aetherium Crown and the ritual stone trick, I did the initial quest for the Golden Claw and Dragon Stone. In the last big fight there, the boss was killed by 8-10 Draughr, Arvid, one frost troll, and a dozen skeevers. That big spider that was holding Arvid captive couldn't fit thru the hallways, so he had to stay behind.

The only issue is, if you wanna keep your Thralls, fast travel does not exist for you anymore. Or you need to remember from where you fast travelled to get them back later
Or just fast travel to stables

Another great video =) fun fact, despite what Wuunferth says necromancy is not entirely illegal. The mages guild might disagree but they never enforced that policy. Phinis confirms that. Necromancy with white souls was always legal as well. Also just found out followers won't drink potions you make, but if you make a poison with positive effects like magicka damage and healing you can just coat a dagger with it and stab them.

This'll be handy when I get my new switch controller
If your problem with the old controllers is drift, there is a program on PC that requires bluetooth, but fixes drift by setting the center of the drift to the center of the stick. It's called The Joycon Toolkit. Save yourself some money!

@@Dadki12345 also there's a app for phones called joy con droid and I used your method for my oldest set of joy cons and the app for the newer ones that I got for multiplayer and it also worked so if you don't have pc give it a go I guess

Pro tip: Ritual stone crown glitch is only fun for a few hours in normal game, so crank out those mods/ console commands if you really want to enjoy it.
i have the crown and both stones but it still makes me wait 24hrs to recast ritual stone

Alright, so a few things; for the mage in a cage in the torture room, you can pick everything up without opening the door. Necromancy falls off around level 40, unless you get necromage perk glitch active, and then it falls off around level 50. At level 50, Volkihar Vampires (similar to master, just better) or bandit cheifs, with axe and shield are the best dead thralls. You can enchant and upgrade THE EXACT armor that the body was wearing when it died. Blood on the ice will be uncompleteable if you have done enough of the dark brotherhood questline. And lastly, Necromancers aren’t bad people, they just want to settle down and maybe “raise” a family.

All this time playing Skyrim, I've never done a necromancer, despite always thinking it was awesome
Maybe I'll have to do one now🤷♂️
I tried it, but it's so annoying.
Everyone keeps on saying only "That spell looks dangerous, keep your distance!".
The game still gives you the speech options, but sometimes NPCs ask you questions (that get replaced with "Keep your distance") so you have no idea what you're answering to.
It is very fun to pull off
