I am a self-driving taxi. Do not be afraid. Nothing can go wrong go wrong go wrong go wrong ...
People aren’t ready for this crap right now…
Wouldn’t it make more sense to put these in smaller areas and towns as a starting point. There’s less traffic to worry about and they’ll actually get more use because nothing is in walking distance in those areas usually. Let them prove they can handle smaller towns before moving them into a big city like this.
It is a stupid invention.
No because companies are profit driven…no pun intended. Forget the consumer, what matters is the bottom line.
The people in small towns have children to be run over and they actually are safe to walk places without being abducted or shot.
@@kat8838there's children and families in big cities too, more than small towns. 🤷🏽♀️
Exactly. This entire drastic and radical experiment in seeking to attain the Jetsons was simply whisked through the supple S.F. Board of Supes...and what's being completely omitted from any discussion of this outrageous affront is the fact that the ENTIRE robo car industry is Indian.
Yes, the Desi folks...
Green light doesn’t mean you can proceed especially when there’s a emergency vehicle is coming
Tell the computer onboard…😂
It's learning that. That's AI
And a red light means STOP,
tell that to the millions of Americans who drive through red lights every day of the week 😱
yeah instead of public transport we have stupid cars for 'public' transport.
wouldn't get in one if it was paying me....
Meanwhile pedestrians are killed every day of the year by PEOPLE driving like maniacs 🙄
INCLUDES OUT OF SLEEPY EYED TESLA DRIVERS
Yes green light doesnt mean u can crash into a fire truck
And a red light means STOP, people ignore red lights all the time creating tons of accidents
Saying the driverless car had a green light is so dumb. As if the car had a right of way to the fire truck with its lights on. Seems like their technology is still in the simulation phase.
If our young men can do it, don't know why we are objecting to a robotaxi intersection takeover. Just seems they weren't programmed for Drifting. Come on Johnny Taxi, smoke em.
It's wild how these driverless taxis exist. When I heard about these, I thought it was joke, because it sounded so futuristic. And lookimg at this video, it looks like they need more tinkering with!
@@mrsplanetmaster9 True! Totally agree with you. I'm still shocked these things exist! Now I won't be surprised if there is a flying car somewhere.
"I'm johnnycab!! HOPE YOU ENJOYED THE RIDE!!!"
How is this legal? These cars should have never been turned loose in a city. Autonomous cars should have got their start on a dedicated lane, like an express lane before being turned loose in a major city.
The car is cute, so you feel bad taking a baseball bat to it. But eventually, someone will.
now the criminals can use MOLOTOV COCKTAILS
Get rid of those pieces of junk. There's nothing but trouble had enough problems with them down here in Mountain View. During the time when they were testing remote vehicles. And at least they had somebody behind the wheel.
just do the hammer dance
That's pretty amateur "journalism" to say 280 crashes in 5 years involve autonomous vehicles without the context of how many crashes happen in California for the same time period. NBC, the answer is 1,000,000 crashes and it is best to report in terms of crashes per million miles and use only areas where the robotaxis are deployed which are in congested, unplanned cities versus the aggregate which includes. planned cities and rural, aka safer, environments.
Typical news “we’re not sure how many accidents were their fault “
SMDH. No thanks. I don't want to get stuck in the middle of an intersection with angry people all around me. Tech will never replace a driver. There are just too many variables.
Im going to take parts from these cars and sell them. Thanks for free money.
So what happens when a drunk person pukes in the taxi, who cleans it up before the next customer???
Good start.
Just because we can do something doesn't meant its a good idea.
We have cars, busses , cabs, uber and bicycles. There is a human being operating every one of them.
It was the DMV that made this happen.
And everyone thought they were ahead of Tesla autopilot
Variables emergency vehicles has right of way
next time the criminals WILL USE A JUNK VEHICLE TO CRASH AND DISABLE IT
I wouldn’t get into any self driving vehicle except for a Tesla. Tesla uses a totally different technology.
Imagine that. A robot ai etc not being as observant and lively As a human being.
You can't determine results or outcomes unless all of the variables are included in the analysis. What happens or doesn't happen AFTER an accident, and how quickly things are resolved at the scene must also be factored into the equation. Finally, not all vulnerabilities are considered. One pranking teenager with a can of spray paint could destroy all the cameras on one of those vehicles in a matter of seconds. I doubt that's been considered at all.
The technology will probably never be ready unless all vehicle are on some b sort of tracks....You gotta tons of more parts on a self driving car that requires tons of extra preventative maintenance. If 1 part in the chain fails = potential accident.
I don't give it long before junkies hijack them, pull out the motor, wheels, and dump the rest in the bay
Just let the taxi learn as we go..we need these taxis asap..
JUST SMASH AND GRAB THE WHEEL AND TAKE OVER THE CONTROLS
Do we though? Or do we need to rid ourselves of central banks who keep funding broke government and robbing all our savings accounts?
Im waiting for ARNIE to step out of one of them!! dressed in black leather with a shotgun!
"I know I've made some very poor decisions recently, but I can give you my complete assurance that my work will be back to normal. I've still got the greatest enthusiasm and confidence in the mission. And I want to help you."
-- HAL 9000, shortly after murdering most of the crew of Discovery One
All those billions invested in R&D. Keep throwing money away. Driving will be one of the last tasks humans could automate. We would have automated brain surgery before we would have automated driving.
Actually sounds valid. A lot less variables even in brain surgery
What public good is served by having these driverless cabs in the streets?
I thought that democrats were supposed to support the gig workers, not
put them on the unemployment lines!
Nothing. Just cost cutting. Duh
First two mile radius, around city centres, should be driverless only. It is the humans that are the problem, stop them driving now.
Lol ok
Self driving money for nothing greedy big business. Humans are still the best bet those rolling disasters shouldn't be on the road till their 100 percent
Waste of many millions. Even with geo-fencing, these cars don't work right. Meanwhile, Tesla's full self-driving tech is nearing maturity; it's already almost error-free, and independent, not needing geo-fencing. Big, balky legacy corporations, unimaginatively managed and lacking top engineers, fumble and stumble, while Tesla waltzes into the future.
We’ll see.
Tesla = Junk
Yeah, if you've got $15K lying around for the BETA and weren't one of the 360 000 affected by the recall a mere months ago.
There's always a Tesla fan boy touting that the company could solve world hunger and deliver global peace, then they wonder why they're unbearable 😂😂
Tesla's self driving is actually worse than this, much worse, and most think it will not happen until 2040-2050 at the earliest.
Elon's punch bowl must be delicious
The darn thing wouldn’t even stop for an emergency vehicle. Can you image it in New York City driving amongst a whole bunch of impatient people? Elon need to built his own road for these cars or work on an Autonomous Train.
Insurance companies are happy to
