Actually they first had me in tears, tears of joy that after almost 40 years of waiting they were back. But also tears of pain as ABBA's music was the soundtrack of my teenage years and it brought back so many memories of a time that now is almost half a century ago...

This song meant so much. Not only were they back but they had incredible music to back it up! This one builds and builds (each time you think they reach the top, they level up! I don't know how they can do that??!) and is timeless! I think it's about themselves and is such a strong lyric to build on that! I love your reaction on this song. As a fan, Abba invokes many memories from the 70's and now 40 years later they do it again so this was kind of emotional and means much and now that Abbatars were created they are forever immortalized. Even though they are in their 70's they still have that 70's sound. They created so many hook songs. I'm 71 yrs and overjoyed that the younger gen can enjoy Abba. Great reaction. They're voices are a half octave to an octave lower because they're older. It's a natural progression. The lower sound seems to add greater poignancy and interpretation to their voices which were already magnificently beautiful. The whole album is superb. its nice to see young people react to ABBA's music and recognize the quality of the music and lyrics that are so lacking in todays music which is mostly crap. this is the comeback of the century having not recorded for 40 yrs. i mean who does that?? no one. if you like this song there is a great remixer by the name of STORM who has 5-6 remixes up on youtube. so check them out. as an older person i need my music on vinyl if available or cd. i have to have the music in my hand and not downloaded. and if something happens to your phone or computer you have lost everything. i will not take that chance on the music i love. plus vinyl or cd are collectable and have not only lyrics but pictures and info on each song etc. you really get to know about the songs and about the artists . so glad you want to download these songs. they have not faired well on the top 100 chart here in the u.s. but were no. 1 and 2 on the iitunes chart in england. come on u.s. get behind ABBA's new music and the new album out nov. 5th.

Yes, lower pitch due to age AND a different engineer to the guy who worked with them back in the day ( the brilliant and humble Michael Tretow who had a stroke in early 90's and has retired from public life). So ... different but the same. But, goddam, DSMD is such a good song on every level. It's actually a song - structured, layered, crafted - rather than an accretion of samples and discordance smothered by autotune.

I don't know if you have managed to come to London to see the ABBA show but it is absolutely amazing! It's something you should try to get to! If you do go, don't choose the seating area, book the standing room, you'll have so much more fun.

@@Isleofskye Rob Squad, Jayvee, lots of them! I'm listening to as many as I can because this song has just taken root in my brain, and I'm hoping that if I hear it enough times it'll go away. Don't get me wrong, I love the song, it's probably my favourite ABBA song, but I can be at work or talking to someone and suddenly I hear that sound effect, or I hear 'you look bewildered', or any line from the song, just as if it was playing on a radio. I've been bewitched.

EXACTLY MARK and I have now seen 33 different reactions though I love this song so much and it is so significant, heartwarming, and poignant that if any reactor starts pausing more than once I now move on as this builds and builds and does not deserve to be interrupted apart from Copyright issues.
I, also, can not remove this and I know when I go to the park now to play ball with my 3 dogs and THe Mum and Sister of my Puppy that this will be with me in any quiet moment :)

I noticed that most of the people that review music in YT reviewed this piece. I also found a bunch of performers I have subscriptions to, and many others, did covers of this song. I am interested in seeing Voyage be one of the more thoroughly examined collection of tracks released by a group on YT.

if you guys listen closely...these little "soundbites" toward the 2nd part of the song seem to be from various older ABBA Hits. At one time you clearly hear a beat from "If It Wasn't For The Nights", another time I heard an instrumental bit from "Dancing Queen" (that famous piano riff) and more. So genius!!

About streaming vs buying - buy the songs or albums from the bands you *really* love, sure and go see bands live. But in this case you ARE supporting the bands and artists you react to - you're giving them huge exposure (at the time of typing this video has reached 27,749 people).
