Started listening last night. Can’t stop! Amazing story. Like a mixture of The Thing and Tomb Raider.
I love that the characters are at least savvy to the genre they are in (as most modern people would be, on a certain level). So often in horror movies or stories characters will try to continue denying the obvious simply because it doesn't make sense.
De La Torre instantly recognizing when they've led back that there's no escaping was an awesome moment.
"We walked so far and tried so hard." but in the end it didn't really matter.

Damn, I had a theory that Jonas had something to do with their situation, that maybe the town sent teams up to the bunker as sacrifices to keep whatever is out there at bay and maybe Jonas knew something of this, if not the whole truth, and was doing it for his daughters.... But seeing as he's been attacked and wounded I think it's safe to say that's debunked.
(the echos of Walter's screams and what might be his last words had me both quaking and tearing up....but maybe he's still alive? Alive until proven dead, that's what I'm going with)

It takes a lot for me not to want the company rep in these situations to immediately die - y'all've done a wonderful job keeping Jonas sympathetic (even with the spooky injury deception)! I'm really enjoying the story so far!!

Early on I said the antagonist would be Huldufólk but now with the size and strength it's sounding more like a Jötunn of some kind....
but what's to say a Jotun isn't a Huldufolk necessarily anyways?
