Can someone please transfer line by line the English version? E Iehova E Iehova Ko koe anake akapuanga E Iehova E Iehova Ko koe anake pa'ruru Ko koe rai taku e Akatapu Ko koe rai taku e Akamori Koe rai, Ko koe rai Ko koe e taku Atu Koe rai taku e ngara'ngara
Oh God, Oh God, You alone are my refuge Oh God, Oh God, You alone are my protector It is you, whom I keep holy It is you, whom I praise It is you, it is you, It is you, my God It is you, who I "cherish" _____ (I speak a different Cook Islands Maori dialect (Manihiki/Rakahanga), I am not sure if "Ngara'ngara" is cherish, that it is however my closes guess)
Thank you so much. I appreciate it. I tried to Google search the Cook Island meaning for ngara ngara but it comes under dread or something like don't be frightend? Your translation of the word seems better more fitting to the rest of what the song is about. I knew it was a beautiful simple song about God. Thank you.
@@skarena7411 actually, I just searched it on the Cook Islands online dictionary and 'ngarangara' is dread or frightened. Just thinking about it more, it also does makes sense if it also meant ! "It is you, who I am afraid of" either way, our language is a very versatile language and a single word meaning many things in our language :)
Thank you Curly! Beautiful singing with meaningful words acknowledging our Father in Heaven! Blessings everyone!
