Ok, open a box of Zatarain's Long Grain and Wild Rice. It's good but not THAT good.
Let's show you how to kick it up so it becomes DELECTABLE AND DELICIOUS!
Here's the ingredients:
INGREDIENTS
1 Box Zatarain's Long Grain and Wild Rice
1 Onion chopped
1 Tbsp. minced garlic
1 Tbsp. butter for rice
2 Tbsp. butter for onion
2-3 Tbsp. Grape Seed Oil
1 - 8 ounce package of baby bella mushrooms
2 1/4 cups "filtered" water
2 Packs of Herb Ox NO Sodium chicken bouillon
1/3 cup fresh parsley
1/3 cup fresh cut green onion tops
Pinch of Salt and Pepper
1 Tbsp. Caliente' Hot Sauce. Made with Tabasco peppers.
INSTRUCTIONS
Bring water to a boil. Add butter, Herb Ox chicken bouillon and the entire contents of the Zatarain's Long Grain and Wild Rice package. Cover and simmer for 25 minutes.
Heat a skillet. Melt butter with grape seed oil. Sauté' onions until they are caramelized.
Then add minced garlic and mushrooms. Continue to cook until mushrooms are softened.
Add some parsley and some green onions.
When rice has simmered for 25 minutes, mix in the mushrooms and onions. Fold everything together well, then add more parsley and green onion before serving.
Chef's Notes: This is a Cajun Style Rice that can be served with chicken, pork, fish, beef, seafood, or just eat some by itself. - Jak na to + styl
