    Layra Mercier is the best but I refuse to pay $30 for them. I just bought 2 Elf yesterday to try and they are going in the trash. They are too hard, Im nit going to be tugging that across my eyes. Trash but 5$ you get what you pay for. So, I am sticking with Julep. For the price I will compromise and use them, they work well enough.

    I’m 67 and I love the Maybelline color tattoo and the Revlon colorstay. Both are in the little round pots.I’ve tried so many sticks and not had much luck. I’ll have to try the LM one though. Thanks for doing this!

    I'm 50 and I have to say the best cream matte eyeshadows I've found has been matte lipsticks! They wear all day, they don't crease, they blend like a dream and they come in so many more interesting colors that typical cream matte eyeshadow sticks. Thanks for these reviews, I'm looking up the kiko milano ones now! :)

    • @Chris-Alia

      What brand lipsticks are your favorite? Lipsticks on my lids seem to always “bleed” and not set well or last

    • @ShabamGram
      @ShabamGram Před rokem +3

      @@Chris-Alia Honestly, I use any brand. I have several from boxy charms that I've received over the last year. I just make sure to put them on my dry skin, no primer/concealer. I've never had any issue with them bleeding or not setting. I do think if you have oily eyelids then it may not work, because the oil would break them down. :)

    I was laughing when I saw Kiko Milano because anything made in Italy is high quality. I use the line - they are not as metallic as you would fear...They also have shadow mousses that don't move after application. It's a fabulous line and if you are into natural products they also have a line. Drugstore price but def high-end quality. This was a great video!!

    I’ve heard that Laura Mercier Caviar Stick is less dry than Bobbie Brown, so it gives you more time to blend and the tube doesn’t dry out. I’ve had BB tubes dry out for no reason, so I’m sticking with LM.

    I’ve tried several eyeshadow sticks too and mostly can’t get them to look very good on me. My eyelids have a fair bit of darkness, so maybe that’s why the shades don’t show up much at all. Anything gray based just makes things worse. I think probably my favorite so far is the eyeshadow sticks from Beauty Pie. They have good pigment and enough shimmer to bring a little life to my eyelids.

    I'm in my late 40s and have been very impressed with the Julep eyeshadow sticks. They're waterproof, have never creased on me, and they last until I remove at the end of the day. Jukep seems to consistently have sales. I have super dry skin and don't use an eye primer. They dry to a powder finish on me fairly quickly. I bought directly from their website during a 40% off sale. Maybe the ones you got from Amazon were old batch?

    Maggie, awesome video about cream eyeshadow sticks. I never tried elf, nyx, etc. Maybe because of my favorite and is made by Revlon, one stick with 2 colors, one end is kinda deep brown and the other end shimmering light brown. Just beautiful and used it as a touch up, weekends or on the run. I actually used it up. I'm not sure if they still make them. I also have a 4-cream compact by Revlo and use it on the go. I just received a Laura mercier eyeshadow stick in a gift sample. I think I like it. Interesting, I have all kinds of Bobby Brown products and not that. Thank you for your demo.

    Good timing watching your video again. TYVM Had ordered some on Amazon yesterday and just went into my order and cancelled two sticks. Very frustrating few good cream mattes and have to go to high end. NYX jumbos I have of many. BIG waste of money and to top it very little product. Just subscribed. You do such an excellent job, gal. 😄😄

      Hi Diane, ironically just this month I found a way to make the NYX work for me - with the milk brand eye primer … I am going to do an updated video on this soon… but still it would be better if they just worked with our having to jump through hoops to use them …

    You didn’t try Thrive brand, work well for me and I have very droopy hooded 63 yr old eye lids

    Did you use a eye primer under the elf no budge eyeshadow sticks?

    • @MaggieDe
      @MaggieDe  Před měsícem

      I didn’t use one for these, but generally, I do use a primer when I have time. I like the one from alter ego a lot. I also like one from essence it’s very very affordable.

    Yeah, the NYX are not creamy nor longwear. Though they do have good color payoff.

    Kiko Milano. Half the price of Laura Mercier, Bibbi Brown & Thrive. And ten times better

      Hi Ann, no I don’t review handbags, I used to be really into them but now I carry “durable” crossbody bags most days because I live in a rural area. (Dirt, dust,etc)

    Great! did you use a primer? paint pots maybe to creamy for a primer:)

    • @MaggieDe
      @MaggieDe  Před 2 lety +1

      I didn't use a primer, such a dummy!!! I didn't even think of it because I just mentally think of primer for powder shadow. Anyway, I'm going to retest them all with a primer and see what happens, I'll make a new video with the results.... maybe after Christmas though, it's a busy time of year.... Thanks so much for commenting.

    Have you tried the RealHer at Costco??

      I haven’t tried them yet, you’re the first person to tell me about them. They look interesting on the Costco website. We are not members of Costco so I won’t get to try them anytime soon. But thanks for telling me about them!

    Thanks for the video but I disagree with you. I use the elf mint melt sticks and they last all day. Maybe you need a lid primer. Also you could improve your presentation to camera. Hold the product still and use only your fingertips. Product should face camera. Good luck.

    `Please consider cruelty free brands like Ilia, Charlotte Tilburry, Smashbox, Danessa Myrick etcetera.. Mac and Revlon and Boobi brown are not beautiful brands..they are ugly brands...

    I wanted so bad to like this video, and I'm 65 so yeah cream better on eyes with shimmer. But the rambling on, stop and go, eye glasses on and off. Kind of annoying. had to fast forward quite a bit. surprise, once again kind of annoying.
