I watched this and didn't care who won. It was an amazing demonstration of skill from both teams and my only regret was not being there to see it live.

I get where you're coming from, but that "swagger" has been a part of house culture for many people, too. Keep in mind that many b-boys and breakin' fans are also house dancers. We can't deny that type of showmanship is also a part of the house culture. It was for me, at least, when I was coming up in NY at clubs like Sound Factory, Red Zone, Tunnel, The Octagon, etc. And even later at spots like Twilo. Anyway, I appreciate that you appreciate the "friendlier" side of house the most, as do I.

Style of dance is House dancing. Typically you dance to Soulful House or Deep House that way.
It started here in the states
Its prevalent in Chicago, New York, San Fran, Detroit. I would say here in DC, but there are very few of us.

HI Verbal, just to put it out there if you weren't aware, but DC has a great community of house dancers. Look up urban artistry Junious brickhouse, or Latasha Barnes. They just hosted a House Dance Conference here in the Bay Area and the Final are in DC. Much Love. Peace!
