- New York City Vibes - We spent the weekend in New York City kicking it with some local ballers in some pretty epic soccer location. Queens, Manhattan, Brooklyn pass the footy vibe check and so do the homies at Street FC and Secret Futebol. Check them out below.
This film was shot with a combination of digital video & photography as well as Super 8 video and film photography with a Mamiya 7. This footy culture video was especially sweet for us since it's our first one in over 3.5 years. NYC has always been high on the bucket list to feature. Hope we did it justice. NYC, we'll be back soon!

just about 15-20 minutes out of nyc over the gwb up palisades parkway is orangetown ny soccer complex. that is where nycfc trians.
Pier 5 is one of my favorite pitches I've ever played on. Imo the level of talent in NYC is nowhere near as competitive as Florida is 😎🌊☀🌴
As a native New Yorker I can say you did NYC's soccer scene justice with this video. Beautifully shot and all around just an amazing video! If you're ever back and need more recs let me know!
Hey Doug, love reading this comment because that's exactly what we aimed to do. I know there's probably so so much more that could have been featured as well, but we only had the weekend so we had to pick and choose. Definitely hope to get up there again soon though to shoot and kick around again. It was a blast.

Appreciate the love. We had so much fun making this one. It was primarily shot on a Sony A7SIII, but we also shot some scenes on film with a Super8 camera.

Thanks! Everything we came across was all turf fields. I'm sure there are some grass options though once you get outside Manhattan.
Is it easy to get on to the pitches? I’m going to be coming in July with two mates and we really want to play some footy somewhere
Yeah it is. They’re all open and available for public use. Just know that they might be reserved (paid for) during certain time slots, so no guarantee you’ll be able to play when you show up.

@@JR-zk6rm I dont unfortunately. I'd recommend looking to see if the NYC Parks and Rec Department has a way of checking into it.

Great question! The group we featured “Street FC” is a great place to start. They have an app and you can sign up for games there.

Good question - some of the places we went were leagues. Some places ere completely open to hop in, so it depends on where you go and what is happening on the field at that time.
So StreetFC is real ?😢 I got invited so many times But I never went, thinking it was a scam 🤦🏻💀
