Jool Has Volumetric Clouds Now!

- Taking a very quick look at the new additions to the Volumetric Clouds mod by Blackrack. Nothing more, nothing less. Besides the clouds themselves, you will also see AND HEAR the lightning and thunder, which is awesome.
Please note that a lot of the footage has been sped up and does not represent the actual frame rate. The game wasn't always running smoothly, but I can say that it runs way better than KSP 2 on the same PC.

That is truly stunning. KSP 1 is such a gem. This guy who did this is wildly talented.
We are quite lucky, cz I can't run KSP 2.
So this way I can still have a lot of fun. I can imagine it is the same for a lot of people.
@@curious_ksp_ I have a 3080 12gb with a 7600x and 32gb of ddr5 - and KSP 2 stutters and struggles like crazy in the most basic things. Wild really. I don't think it works well for almost anyone.

I cant wait to make a landed Jool base using glitches and accidentally have one of my kerbals fall into those clouds.

This mod is stunning, blackrack did an amazing job. I like how when the clouds render in the planet kinda looks like wool

How do you build a base on Jool? It's a gas giant and a floating base isn't possible in the game? Or is there a mod or something?
@@DJChappie001 you just build a plane and put it in really low orbit so you can skim the atmosphere of jool when you want to
@@DJChappie001 There’s mods that allow you to “land” in-atmosphere, sending a message to the game that the craft in question is considered landed or splashed down. Good way to build atmospheric floating bases!
@@mechanicpluto2430 Thanks! Do you know the name of the mod? I googled and found a mod called Jool surface mod but that seems to give the planet a rocky surface instead of an invisible surface

I think they should have just stuck to KSP 1, or they should just hired Blackrack. I think his Volumetric Clouds mod outcompetes KSP 2's volumetric clouds, and the fact that Jool has vortexes and storms makes it even better.
Suddenly, I don't want to build a Jool base any more; it's too scary! :D But I probably will, some day.

No no NO! This kind of think is part of a MOD for a reason! Cos you know. Some people might not want to buy a goddam supercomputer to play funny space frog game.
@@geokou7645 Well if it was official then you could just disable the volumetric clouds but also it would be able to be optimized properly if it had a full team behind it.

What are all the visual mods you are using? I’ve been using eve, avp, scatterer, and some others I don’t remember and I’m not loving it.

Jool atmosphere contains copper oxide, thats why its green. Same with 5he minmus ground
I went to Jool with the eve mod activated and didn't work, what can I do?
You don't just need EVE, you need Blackrack's mod. His patreon is in the description.

@@blackrack2008i have a low~mid end laptop and honestly? The volumetric clouds run perfectly fine, even with other mode and even other planet mods taking up space. 10/10 mod, best use of the couple of dollars I spent for it by far
i have 2 and a half times more time played
Too bad you have to pay for it
